The overall visit was good. The time it took to replace the hot water heater with another one was no time missed at all in the day to day of our lives. Any down time only put our baths off until later in the evening, now that the hot water has had a chance to start in a proper way. The repair man gave us our debt due as we paid in a personal check. The amount spent was a pain, but after all is said and done, we as the customers, were very happy with the results. We would use the same plumming service again if the need came about again.
Description of Work: The hot water in our home had been running as if it were warm water. My husband thought there might be something wrong. When he checked he found that the pilot ligh was out. When he tried to restart the pilot light it would not set to start again. My husband knew from those signs that the hot water heated was done. We placed a phone call Pipeline Plumming and we received a quick response in a matter of 15 minutes from the time the phone was placed. The caller also spoke to my husband to determine the problems at hand. It was decided that the plummer would bring a hot water heated with him upon his arrival and everything eles was in place. The next day 7/5/10, the repair man arrived as agreed. The repair man arrived on time, dressed and showing his badge which matched his face on the picture id. The repairman was plesant and professional in his manners when speaking about the hot water system he would use to replace the old with the new. The repairman replaced the hot water heater as it was stated. The repair man, along with my husband were out in the garage where the repair man explained step by step what he had repaired. There were some new regulations in place the repair man made us aware of since the last hot water heater had aged and was dated. The repair man was professional in his manner, speech, and dress. He was polite and thoughtful in his manner of conversation, as it pertained to the job at hand.

It went perfectly. We started to notice some issues with our 15 year old water heater. I called them and their office manager was able to completely quote me via phone and thereafter we used email to confirm all other details. They carried the exact water heater I needed (I replaced my old water heater brand with the newest model from the same company....I figured, if the water heater lasted 5 years over it's ten year warranty, then it is the way to go.) The gentlemen arrived early for my appointment and quickly went to work. Two hours later I had hot water. I am a heavy Angie's List and Consumer Reports user. This company honored their coupon, came in at or below several competitors costs (this includes the big box stores), carried a highly recommended brand by Consumer Reports, and were courteous, prompt, and communicative. I would definitely use them again!

See above, it was an amazing experience!
Description of Work: This was the best contractor experience I have ever had. I came home yesterday after being gone for months to a note from the water company that my usage indicated a water main failure. I called Pipeline at 10am and they had an estimator out by 11:30, called their clients for the next day to move them out, and had pulled permits and committed to fix my line starting at 8am the today! I had planned to move to a friends thinking it would take weeks to schedule all the necessary work, permits and contractors. What was especially important about their bid was they offered to directional drill the new water line so that none of my yard, sidewalk or driveway needed torn up....my neighbors had the same job done a few years back with open trench, destroyed their front yard and cost twice what Pipeline quoted me. Even more impressive was the fact that during the job their directional drill contractor had a drill part failure underground. It took hours to dig a pit to retreve the drill head, which they did not charge me for....and they still finished in time for the project to pass City inspections! When it was all done, the job came in $100 less than the bid estimate. Amazing! I will use no one else going forward, these guys are great!

I called when a downstairs toilet began backing up. When I called, I was asked when I would like someone to come out, and I told them as soon as possible. She thought it would be at the end of the day, which I agreed to, but she called me back in about an hour, and said Ryan was going to finish up with another job earlier, and would be over in about 2 hours. Ryan arrived, and started trying to figure out what the problem was. He fairly quickly determined our main line was clogged, and set about trying to snake it out. When that failed, he had a camera brought to our house so he could examine the pipes from the inside. He finally found the clog, which turned out to be roots that had grown into the pipe thought a break. He had to dig down three to four feet, and replace a section of our main line to the house. It was muddy work, but they got everything cleaned up pretty well before they left. It was a much bigger job than I anticipated, but everything is back to normal, and I think they did a great job. Very polite, responsive, and professional. I hope I don't need them anytime soon, but when I do, I'll use this company.

I took advantage of Pipeline?s Big Deal for $55.00 for a whole house inspection. They didn't just drop some color tabs in my toilet and check under my sinks, the plumber really checked the whole house. Additionally, he provided estimates for needed work. I had an immediate need to fix a leaky faucet and the plumber gave me a discount on the first hour rate because he was already there for the inspection. The plumber also helped me find my water main (which was replaced but not clearly marked by a previous owner). My new main does not have a shut off valve so he showed me how to turn off the water at the street level. The final estimate was provided in writing and including all possible work and separate estimates for each type of work. I am pretty handy and the plumber realized that and advised me of which work I could do myself and which work they could do for me without being condescending or predatory. I plan to use Pipeline when I am ready to do the additional work needed.
Description of Work: I received the whole house inspection special and had the plumber fix a leaky faucet in my master bath.

Perry, the field manager and estimator arrived promptly the day I called them. He outlined the details of the job and guaranteed that the job would be completed in one day, which was extremely important to me, due to my having to schedule a day off. They only needed a few days lead time, but due to a previously planned business trip I scheduled them 2 weeks out. The crew arrived promptly at 8:30 and started work. The job required them to dig holes on each end by hand. One at the street-side around the water meter and pressure regulator about 2 feet deep, the other next to my home foundation at the planned entry point. Once the holes were dug, a subcontractor arrived with a direction boring rig. They bored a hole underground, horizontally between the two holes and pulled the pipe back through. A pass-thru was drilled in my foundation, and the pipe was connected to my existing copper water system. They also added a new pressure regulator and shutoff valve (accessible in my crawl space), therefore eliminating the old crusty regulator at the street meter. The crew, was very friendly and informative. They discussed the progress and explained each step (OK - I'm a curious George by nature). I felt that they were highly confident and proud of their work. The weather was awful on the day of the job, very rainy and cool, but it didn't affect them at all. The water was flowing by 4:00. I absolutely could not be more pleased by the job this company did. Absolute professionals. All permit and inspection fees were included and scheduled by Pipeline. They held to the original estimate, except for the new regulator which was an improvement I opted to go with. It was an $80 addition and worth it. Make sure you schedule an electrician to re-ground your electrical panel either prior to, or during the installation. This was required in my city - Beaverton. Ask your contractor.
Description of Work: Ran replacement main water feed from meter (at street) to house. Used directional boring machine to run modern WIRSBO poly pipe underground with very minimal disruption to yard or landscaping. Replaced pressure regulator with new - now located in crawl space, instead of at street. Added secondary shut-off in house.

Ryan did an EXCELLENT job checking our plumbing and diagnosing a plumbing noise problem we had. He figure out the problem and gave us an estimate. We will recommend pipeline to our friends.

Very prompt and professional. My only gripe is their mandatory minimum $145 service charge. The company is not far away, and the service took a total of 5 minutes. Including chatting, paperwork and payment, the Pipeline plumber was here a total of 15 minutes. Next time if I have a service I believe will be short and simple, I'll look for a company that will charge based on the length of time the job took.

The process went very well and he was very professional. He arrived during the estimated window and got right to work. He always removed his boots before entering and cleaned our wet/dry vac that he needed to use to find the irrigation shut off under a few feet of water. Once he had narrowed down the problem to 2 possibilities that seemed very fixable, I was incredibly relieved. After he fixed the problem, he even suggested using a steam vacuum like a Rug Doctor to speed up the process of drying out our carpet. That suggestion saved us hours on drying out our carpet vs using a wet/dry vac. I always call Pipeline first with plumbing problems.
Description of Work: Our basement was flooding and we suspected it was plumbing related but we weren't sure. I'd used Pipeline in the past and they have always done an excellent job so they were the first company I called. Ryan narrowed the problem down to 2 possibilities within 10 minutes of arriving - either the water service or the irrigation system. After another 30 minutes, he had the problem fixed. Our irrigation system had a bad leak and he shut it off. He also determined that pvc was used for our water service line and recommended replacing it to avoid future problems.

Pipeline was scheduled to replace my nextdoor neighbor's main water line which had recently burst. Adam, the owner, came out to give me a bid to replace the galvanized line to my meter and offered to give me a substantial discount if I scheduled the job the same day as my neighbor. He offered her a discount as well. Adam came out to do the job himself. At the end of the day, my water volume was several times greater than it had been the day before! My nextdoor neighbor, not an angies' list member, was also very happy with the job.

Pipeline was prompt in getting a date setup for the work to be done. They came out and discussed options that would affect project cost. They showed up when they said they would, performed the work, got the city inspection done and completed the project when they said they would. They were careful to take off their shoes when entering the house and did their best to minimize the impact to the landscape. I would not hesitate to call them again.

Aarron arrived on time and could not have been more pleasant or professional. I explained the problems with the toilets, and he assessed the situation. Basically, the toilets are vintage 1983 and I feel they need to be replaced. However, I need to keep them operational for another year. Aarron did the best he could. He snaked two of the toilets, replaced a handle on another, replaced the fill valve on yet another. This "tune up" put us in a holding pattern until next year. I asked him for some advice with regard to toilet brands and remodel issues. I could not have asked a better person. He gave me tons of practical advice and suggested some local businesses I should visit to see what sort of bathroom fixtures are available.

The estimate was free, unlike one of their competitors. Pipeline gave us the option of either buying fixtures on our own (and hauling them home) or purchasing fixtures through their supplier, which they would bring to the house on installation date. We chose their supplier because it was far more convenient and the total price for fixtures actually slightly less than the total price at Home Depot and Lowes. ( I compared the prices before we decided.) The plumber arrived a few minutes early, and was fully prepared and got to work. Matt was very cordial and professional and wasted no time. As usual with plumbing, there was a snag in that one of the existing toilets is only 10 inches from the wall which was unexpected. So he immediately got on the phone and arranged to get a ten-inch toilet delivered to the house by a coworker. That toilet didn't fit either, a half-inch off, so they took it out and called the office where a third toilet was special ordered. He reinstalled the old toilet and came back in a week (pre-arranged day and time) after the special-order toilet arrived. Matt quickly removed and replaced the last toilet and the job was done. Matt left his work areas clean and free of debris and had protected the floors with drop clothes. It was a great job by all involved. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced 4 bathroom sinks, faucets and 3 toilets. The total price above includes the fixtures which were low-flow toilets and water-miser faucets. Miscellaneous parts were reasonably priced. The total price was a bit more than I had planned but we had not figured on needing a special-order toilet.

He arrived on time. His work competely exceeded expectations. He was fast, efficient and charged less than the estimate because he finished faster. We would definitely recommend him with no reservations.
Description of Work: We had a freeze break in our ½” copper line in the garage ceiling. The plumber came and cut out the bad pipe and replaced it with new ½” pipe. Then, he tested the line, tied into the line, shut off the value to make sure there where no more breaks. There were three more breaks. If he hadn't gone the extra step, we would have been back at square one. He cut a new hole in the wall to access the found broken pipe. then after completing the repair, suggested we get an electrician to make sure panel was still grounded and the repair took away part of the grounding.

The work was done well. The shower was fixed. The plumber sent to do the work was professional and seemed knowledgeable. So, I was satisfied with the actual work performed. However, I was surprised when the work invoice was presented to me. The plumber was here for a couple of minutes, then left for a long time, and then returned to do the work. He said he did not have the right part on his truck. I was charged for the entire time he was gone to his shop (which is not located in Lake Oswego as their business addresses indicates, and instead is located somewhere in the Tigard/Tualatin area). When he returned, the actual work only took minutes to complete. My concern with this Company is that there are only two options for the small part I needed. All they had to do was to ask what kind of faucet I had on the front end (the manufacturer), and he could have come with both parts on the truck. When I called their office after he left to ask for some kind of consideration because I felt it was not right that I had to pay a premium for such an easy fix...and was told they would call me back the next day. They never called back, which is why I will not be using this Company again.

Called them in because the bolts holding the tank to the bowl were old and rusted and one was dripping water onto the floor. The plumber arrived on time, was very thorough in his inspection, recommended replacing the fill valve and flapper, which I hadn't noticed were damaged (so I was glad to include them in the repairs). He actually took the tank outside to his truck to work on it, because the work was too messy in the small powder room downstairs. He tested everything and cleaned up very well. I appreciated that at one point he asked whether my indoor cat was safe, since the he (the plumber) was going to be coming in and out of the house and leaving the door open at one point. (I assured him my cat was shut upstairs.)

Adam Faren, and the rest of the crew were great to work with. We discovered we had a problem when we received a $540 water bill. Adam came out to look at the problem and give us options. One option was to have another company come out to identify the exact source of the break, then Pipeline plumbing would dig up the driveway, repair the leak and patch the driveway. The other option was to have the Pipeline plumbing bore a hole under the driveway to the crawlspace in the house and replace the old PVC with new WRSBO flexible pipe for $1,850. Because we didn't want to patch the driveway and have mismatched concrete, and because we figured that the break was at the PVC/Copper connection we didn't want to end up spending $1,850 or more for all the work only to end up with a poor PVC/copper connection and a patched/mismatched driveway, we chose the new pipe option. The crew came out and spent all day on the project, including additional work to break up and replace a section of sidewalk to get access to the main. This additional work was included in the original quote. Because of code changes they had to move the pressure reducer valve (PRV) from the street to the crawlspace. After using the water for a day we determined that the PRV was too restrictive, and Pipeline was very quick to respond and increase the water pressure. The only downside was the coordination with the new concrete pouring. They required a water source (hose) that we did not have available since we turn the outside spigots off during the winter. So, they had to come back another day to lay the concrete. Also, the concrete person did not come back and remove the caution tape and concrete forms. Adam from PipeLine took care of it immediately when I called to bring it to their attention. All-in-all the plumbers were knowledgeable, professional, courteous and cleaned up after themeselves. We will definitely call them back for other plumbing problems.
