The company's representative, Ryan, came on-time and performed the work in a highly competent and professional manner. He was careful in his work, explained the process very well, and was courteous in responding to my questions. He left the area clean and free of debris. Ryan is expert in his field and I would not hesitate to re-hire this firm.

They were awesome to work with. Showed up on time. Explained everything in great detail. Worked quickly and cleanly. Hopefully I won't have similar issues in the future but, if I do, I am calling the Pipeline guys.
Description of Work: We had a completely clogged rain drain. The pipe was broken underground and it was full of roots. Jetting couldn't solve the problem. So the guys saw cut a 4' square of concrete, dug down 3', and repaired the bad section of pipe. They then rejetted to clear out additional debris.

The guys were excellent. They were a bit late but more than made up for it providing some extra services at no charge (and I didn't even have to ask). Seemed like high integrity guys that knew what they were talking about. I'd use them again - in fact, I am using them again on another project in a few weeks!

We needed a hot water heater to fix a previous plumbing company's mess. Pipeline Plumbing made an appointment to take a look. Adam arrived on time and was simply awesome -- knowledgeable, kind, and effective. He was able to jump through some serious hoops to acquire the proper hot water heater and arrange its installation the very same day. Which was great since we had no hot water. We also appreciated Terra's administrative help. She was very responsive and friendly on the phone and email. The technician Jeff was also friendly and professional, and a pleasure to be around as the work was completed. The estimate was very close to what it cost. The price was reasonable and without surprises. The new hot water heater appears to be solidly installed and properly vented. We have hot water again. Pipeline Plumbing is a class act. We wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again.

I was so impressed with the entire process from first call to completion of project. Chris had to try several different approaches and pieces of equipment and because he wasn't sure he was able to fully fix it, he was only going to charge for his time but after running the hose through the pipe, it seems he cleared it or at least greatly improved the issue. I so appreciated PP's prompt response, professionalism and especially Chris' tenacity in fixing the problem. Thank you!

Chris arrived on time and was very professional and communicative. He first examined our hand held shower and advised me that the pressure was about right as all new shower heads were required to meet Federal low water usage standards. He then explained what he was going to do first to remove the blockage in our toilet. It took him about 15 minutes to complete his work although set up and clean up extended the total time. I was pleased with the result and he cleaned up after himself and left the room as it was when he entered.

Plumber was scheduled to arrive Monday, 4/21/14, between 8 and 9 am. They arrived promptly at 8 am. We showed them the work to be done and they began right away. As they were working, they discussed options with us when a problem arose, sharing with us the costs for each option so we could make the best decision for us. Very thorough, professional and polite. We will definitely call on them again if we have any plumbing issues in the future.
Description of Work: Installed new faucet and strainer and cleaned P-trap in master bath, Checked and adjusted bathtub stopper in main bath to insure water would not drain/leak while bathing, installed new tub spout to correct small leak and removed/cleaned P-trap. Removed old under sink water filter and installed new faucet and strainers in kitchen's double sink.

We were happy with their service. They were very helpful. We would definitely use those guys again. We were having a leaking faucet in our kitchen and we couldn't stop the water and we couldn't fix it and we needed to replace the whole thing but he fixed it as best as he could until we could get the part that we needed. So, he tried to fix the leak and didn't charge us and when we got our faucet, a different gentleman came back and he fixed it, it was great. He took a look at a couple of other issues that we had and wrote it down in case we call them back to have it fixed. So, they just did a good job, kind of not even charging us for the call the first time.

Pipeline outbid the other plumbers and with their 5% off I couldn't pass them up. Theydid a really good job keeping me in mind after we scheduled just in case an opening came up to do my work earlier which it did. They came out when they said they would and got started right away. I work from home so it was a bit noisy but that is typical when they are cutting away old pipes to install new ones!! They also install a nice toilet for me to replace an old round one that didn't work very well. I did notice that the pressure in my kitchen sink was very low so they came back out the next day to raise the pressure. It works great now but I believe I really just need a new kitchen faucet to really get good pressure! All in all they did a good job and I would definitely use them again but hopefully I won't have to! :)

He checked all the plumbing and faucets. He recommended some repairs - kitchen faucet, water heater, dishwasher boot - and replaced a couple aerators._x00This was a "Big Deal" for a whole-house plumbing inspection. 0D_|_x000D_|I asked for, and he later sent, quotes for a new hot water heater and a whole-house pressure pump. I bought the water heater from another company whose bid was much lower, and I decided against the pressure pump.

The actual work that was done went well. The plumbers, while hardly punctual at ~45 mins later, were very professional and courteous. They put down floor protection when the first arrived and began bringing their tools and supplies to the work area. When they tapped into the basement floor, I was pleasantly surprise to find, not only the drain very close to the wall, but also a previously stubbed line within 1 foot of where the plumber opened up the concrete floor. The hole in the concrete was less than 2 feet by 1 feet where the original bid assumed a much bigger hole. The plumbers work diligently for the remainder of the morning, finding the water lines in the wall in a very fortuitous location as well. All in all, the plumbers worked 5 hours in total to complete the agreed upon work. As the plumbers were leaving for the day, I was told that it would require the master plumber 1 more hour to remove the test valve and complete the work after the inspector had approved the work that was completed. I scheduled the inspector for the following week. The inspection went fine and I called pipeline plumbing once he left to schedule time to finish the work. This is the point at which things went south. The receptionist said that the plumber had time the following morning to complete the work so I arranged for my wife to be home while the plumber was there. He finished the work he needed to do in about 40 mins (after being 20 mins late again). when I got home, I was amazed to see that the plumber had put finish valves on the water supply lines, as well as an auto vent on the drain - without telling me this is what they were going to do. This was on an UNFINISHED WALL, without a CABINET. This would mean that I would have to drywall around the finished supply lines and figure out a way to get the cabinet around all of it. I feel that I should have been warned that this was what was being done so that I could have adequately finished the area with drywall and put up a cabinet on the stubbed ends. As it stands now, I have to finish around a ~6 inch high autovent and finished water lines. This was just the start of the shenanigans - Later that day, I received an invoice from Pipeline plumbing for the full amount of the original "worst case" bid - $1550. I immediately contacted the estimator to discuss the invoice and the fact that his "worst case" estimate of $1550 (based on 24 hours of work - 12 each for the master plumber and apprentice plumber) should be revised based on the actual amount of less than 11 hours - ~6 for the master plumber and ~5 for the apprentice. The estimator agreed and said he'd get a new invoice out asap. I received the new invoice early the next week and it was a whopping ~$150 lower. Really? It took less than half as long and the invoice is ~10% lower? I contacted the estimator to discuss. He said that this included time for both his time to come out and do the estimate (Free estimates are advertised????) as well as travel time for the plumbers, time for lunch, and time for the plumbers to get supplies at the local supply house. Not only that, they were charging $150 per hour for the pair of plumbers - $90 for the master plumber and $60 for the apprentice - which is totally outrageous. Luckily I had carefully logged the hours. Even then, based on their totally outrageous hourly rate - the final cost was $1284 - which was, in actuality, still far too high. Not only was it far too high, I ended up with a finished product that only added time for me to complete the job. I would stay far away from these guys - I'm certain that there are much better plumbers in the area that are far more honest, will provide far better service, for a far better price.
Description of Work: I received a bid on 10/2/31 from pipeline plumbing for adding a rough in for a sink in my basement. The specific details of this work were uncertain from the beginning because of the need to tap into the basement floor to access the main drain as well as needing to tap into the bathroom wall to access the water lines. When discussing with the estimator, he mentioned that he would provide a "worst case" or "not to exceed" bid that could be revised if, when the plumber opened the basement floor and/or bathroom wall, the drain or water line were in an optimal place. I received similar feedback from the other plumbers that I had bid the job as well. There were lines in the concrete that appeared to be previous work to access the drain but, until it was opened, it wasn't possible to truly know how much of the concrete would need to be broken up - ultimately how much labor would need to be provided. This was the same with accessing the water lines in the bathroom wall. The quote was for $1550 and included 1.5 days of labor - worst case.

Response from Pipeline Plumbing & Drains
[removed member name] We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with our services. It is very important to us that our customers feel satisfied with the services we provide. Complaints are very rare for us to receive as you can see by our Angie's list reviews. How we see this was that initially you asked us to bid the job with a set price which we did. We compare this sort of thing to when someone estimates replacing a roof. Once the roof has been replaced you wouldn't negotiate that it should have been less expensive because both sides agree to a bid/set price. Set prices are given in many different industries and a lot of people prefer it knowing what to expect up front before the project is started. You saw that the job went well for us which must have made you unhappy. We didn't give you a "worse case scenario" bid, we gave a bid that both you and Pipeline agreed upon. After we completed the job you insisted that we change it from a "bid job" to a Time plus Material cost job which we did for you. You still didn't like the price because you felt the hours weren't what you had documented. We felt like you didn't track the time we spent going to get materials etc. Needless to say we came to terms with you on an acceptable price which were your terms not ours. For you do say that we are expensive only leads me to believe you did not do any research on that as we are very competitive with most all compareable plumbing contractors in Portland metro area. I am sorry you feel the plumbing industry charges too much. We really don't appreciate how wrote such a detailed report without explaining both sides of the story and calling us too expensive when really we are not. I feel like that was an unnecessary and uncalled for attack to our our company and credibility. I can only hope for both you and any other plumbing contractor that would do a project for you in the future get all of the "post project" negotiations done before the project is started. It always feel much better when both parties can complete a project and walk away feeling happy and treated fairly Again I am very sorry you did not feel like you had a great experience with our company. We will use this circumstance to try and improve on for any future like scenarios. Sincerely, Adam Faren

Overall the job went well. Crew was very professional and helpful in integrating work into existing irrigation work that I was working on. Some time was lost while waiting to get a jackhammer. Work was finished in one day. Hose bib installation had to be modified from what was proposed. Not a big issue, but until the actual crew arrives on the scene you can't be sure exactly how a job gets done. Negotiated additional trenching over what was proposed.
Description of Work: Removed old house water supply valve which was located inside garage. Relocated and replaced valve and added second valve for irrigation system. Replaced about 10 feet of supply pipe with Wirsbo pipe and ran new 25 ft Wirsbo supply to existing backflow valve. Relocated and replaced hose bib. Job required breaking up some concrete and digging a 12 ft trench to expose old water supply line. Home owner did the back fill.

Several hundred dollars for a shower kit replacement on older apartment. They emailed a quote that was a ridiculous amount. We have since replaced it for a third or less of the quote price. We felt they just didn't want to do work so we won't use or recommend them again. Was sorry as we were hoping to find a close local plumber we could have for any future work we might want done.. The representative was prompt and courteous and the company did have good reviews but not for us. I threw the quote out and do not remember the date or exact amount, but it was I think 1st week of Oct, maybe end of Sept.
Description of Work: Came out for an estimate to replace shower "kit";on/off, handle, cover plate, faucet, and shower spout on an older tub/shower.. Also asked on more extensive pipe work for future. The shower kit replacement was several hundred dollars, and some parts they said were unavailable.

They were really good. They're just shockingly professional. The way they did it, they took on the responsibility. It was quite good to see that. I think they charged me about $1,000 and I felt like they've done a lot. They probably made their profits but it felt like they've done good work for that and we've never had a problem since. Somebody I think that was working for them was particularly focused, attention to detail and just seemed to have an honest way about him. I would use them again in the future.
