I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but in this case, I feel compelled to express my extreme gratitude and satisfaction with Klam Construction. I'm simply blown away. I got a lot of bids from many A listed Angie's list roof contractors. From the very start, Abel from Klam stood out. The only contractor to walk the roof. The only contractor to go into the attic and look at the plywood and venting. The only contractor who would include plywood and 2x6 in his bid. The only contractor to sit down with me at my table and spend over an hour discussing the process and what his 20+ years of roofing experience taught him about what my home needed. Immediately, I knew this man cared about his craft, his business, and giving his customers unsurpassed quality for great value. The choice was easy. Abel gave me both the option of including tear off and haul away of my old roof as well as letting me handle the tear off to save a good deal of money. I chose to get some family members and friends to help remove the tile roof, and we were ready to go. Klam Construction communicated with me every step of the way and kept to the exact timeline that they laid out for me. And how bout this, we were supposed to start the roof on Monday, September 21, but a major storm appeared on the forecast to arrive that day. Abel and his team contacted me about starting instead on Friday the 18th so they could beat the storm. My family and I worked **** ** the 16th and 17th to get the roof torn off, and first thing Friday morning the Klam crew was here and ready to go. The crew - what can I say? I haven't ever seen a team work harder or faster. These guys meant business. And they were professional, courteous, and respectful of my home. That Friday they put in a 12+ hour day. They came back Saturday morning first thing. Another full day. They even came back on Sunday morning to put in another 1/2 day of work, to make sure everything was water tight before the storm. Monday morning arrived, and the team came to finish up while there was a lull in the storm. The roof looks incredible. We are so very thankful and excited about the end result. Everyone in the neighborhood has commented on the work and shared their excitement as well. The craftsmanship, the quality, the service, the value, the honesty.... I am just so very pleased with Abel and his team at Klam Construction. I enthusiastically offer my recommendation to anyone reading this. Cheers.

When our new 5 yr old roof failed, I had to file an insurance claim and interviewed at least 10 or more roofers. Price and customer response, or lack thereof, were all over the place. Most didn't even go on the roof and none went into the attic. I was so disappointed, confused and upset that on a Saturday I gave one more roofer a call and left a desperate message for help. That was Klam Construction. I got a call back within hours and Able Sorrano (the owner of Klam) came by that day to take a look. Able not only went on our roof but into the attic and checked every side of the house and the venting. He said that it had not been done correctly and that we needed special venting due to the design of our house. He explained not only the roof process but his idea of what a business model is and how he is not happy until you are happy. I hired him and I feel so very pleased to have finally found such a competent, honest and reliable person who represents his company with pride and respect. I even had them replace our three skylights. This is one company you will not have to doubt ever that they will do the job promised and for a very fair price. Klam will make sure you are happy with the result. I could not recommend anyone more than Able and his crew and office support to get your roof replacement done.

We were very impressed with how everything was handled from beginning to end. They were even able to get it done sooner than we expected. Abel, Katie and crew are wonderful at what they do, and we couldn't be happier with how our project turned out!

I had my roof replaced by Klam Construction in August 2017. They did a great job. They were not the cheapest, but they were on the lower side of the bids I got. Abel, the President, is a great communicator. I was inclined to choose Klam because during his on-site bid, he noted some things and communicated some things that no other roofer did. We also confronted a wrinkle: After initially saying they'd charge me for some additional labor which they hadn't bid for (hand carrying the material onto the roof), they agreed to absorb all those costs themselves--very fair. After the tear-off, rot and additional work was revealed. I think the price was fair for the change orders, and they were very speedy getting additional material on site. Katie in the office is a GEM, very responsive and a great communicator. The start of the job was delayed by a few days due to a previous job running over. I don't have a problem with that, that kind of thing is somewhat inevitable, and Katie kept me appraised of the changing schedule very well. They did a good job of draping my paths and landscaping to deal with the debris and left the jobsite very clean at the end of the job. Altogether I'm very satisfied, I would go with Klam again.

My entire experience with Klam Construction was great! From the knowledge and expertise that came from Abel, to the efficiency and hard work of his employees, I cannot say enough about this company! The price was really fair and the quality of workmanship was excellent! I would totally recommend this company to anyone with roofing issues and would definitely not even consider using anyone else, again! They exceeded any expectations I had!

I'm very impressed with Klam Construction.From the initial estimate to the final cleanup everything went smooth and professional.The owner Abel is as honest and professional as I've seen.He has top quality office staff and roofers.They worked hard and did a very nice job-the roof and gutters look great! KLAM is a excellent contractor that re-roofed our house with a high-end Owens Corning architectural shingles. They are an Owens Corning roofing preferred contractor. So I got a ten-year workmanship warranty and an Owens Corning 50 year transferable warranty. And the roof was installed to Owens Corning’s installation standards. I think the roof installed correctly and no short cuts were taken. Abel, the owner, went up on the roof to make a thorough inspection. He made a very detailed proposal and spent the time to go over each item and explain what was included. He even included in allowance for plywood sheathing in the event that the old plywood had dry rotted. The work proceeded according to his proposal and there were no contract express He and his support staff are very organized and efficient. They had drop boxes, a porta potty and materials delivered the day before the start of work. And the bulk of the shingles and miscellaneous roofing materials were delivered to the roof. Everything was there before it was needed so there were no delays for materials. The roofers seemed experienced and knew what to do. I followed the installation closely and didn’t have any concerns. It rained during the tear off and installation. They had sufficient tarps and underlayment so they could cover the roof during the rains. There was no water damage from the rains. They worked between light showers but had to stop work for a couple of days when we had steady rain. They did an excellent job of cleaning up after they were done. They cleaned the gutters and the downspouts. All the construction debris was gone. It was like they were never there.

Beautifully. This is an extremely well run company. They are knowledgeable, competent, efficient, fast, clean and on and on and . . . I confess to being a bit blown away by how well the whole thing went.

Klam did an excellent job. From the initial meeting, to the final inspection, Abel was very thorough and explained everything along the way. The job was done early and on time. From the front office to the roofers, the communication was excellent. Our roof looks beautiful, and we are very happy. We highly recommend Klam.

Working with Klam Construction was a delight from start to finish. Abel Serrano, the owner, has an infectious passion and decades of hands-on experience in his line of business. As noted in other reviews, his initial inspection is incredibly detailed and he will take the time to explain his findings to you. Personally, I prefer working with companies whose owners are truly involved in day to day operations. I was also very pleased with the communication with Katie on project details and schedule. Everything about the work itself went smoothly and the new roof looks fantastic. I can't imagine finding a more complete package for a roof replacement job at a better price elsewhere.

Klam Construction Abel Serrano is the consumate successful entrepreneur who founded Klam based on his extensive experience managing roof construction projects for other companies. He began with a focus on performing high quality work and outstanding customer support. He recruited excellent experienced roof construction teams who worked for him at previous companies. This was all evident from the beginning when abel came to our house to evealuate the roof, describe all the work that would be done and the proccess to completion, and explain the benefits of the Owens Corning product. He then prepared a detailed bid was customized to our needs (including repairing previous poorly built chimeny cap and chimney flashing). The job was estimated to take 2-3 days. The 3 man team arrived exactly on schedule and worked continuosly for 8-12 hours for 2 consecutive days. The job was finished in 2 days and a few minor additions were performed on the third day. The worker were incredibly efficient and all had an excellent quality ethic. They replaced 7 plywood sheets that had significant dry rot (after showing us pictures on the rotted panels and the new replacement panels. All the areas that required flashing were done in a very professional manner. It is not often that an wner takes personal responsibility for evaluating the job, preparing the bid, and finally checking the work to ensure quality. Abel has built an A+ team that exemplifies his standards for excellence.

Outstanding. From the first contact with KLAM, to the final inspection, everything was handled in a professional and timely manner. Abel (the owner) came out and explained the product options (KLAM is an Owens Corning Preferred contractor). He not only examined the roof but he also went in each of the attic access points (3) to insure that there was adequate ventilation. After that, he went back to his office and prepared a color coded drawing of the roof showing where the old vents were, where new (additional) vents would go, where snow and ice underlayment would be used, etc. Then a detailed bid was prepared. Abel then came out to the house to present the bid, roof drawing, etc. When the weather got better, a date was scheduled for the work. Abel had a crew of 3 men who did the job in a timely (3 1/2 days) manner. They were courteous and very hard workers who put in solid 10 to 11 hour days which included daily clean-up around the property to try to insure no nails or debris of any kind was left. On the last day, the dumpster and the port-a-potty were gone by noon. In summary, Abel and his crew are true professionals and take their jobs seriously. Excellent company!

We couldn't be happier with the job Klam Construction did from our first meeting. We received a thorough inspection of the roof, including the rafters, & viewed pictures Abel (the owner) took so we could see what repairs or extra plywood was needed and all would be included in his bid....we really liked that. We had 2 other companies bid and neither went into our rafters to inspect. He sat down and thoroughly explained the job from beginning to end and impressed us with his integrity. At second meeting with his bid, he brought a diagram of the roof with all work to be completed marked so that was a nice visual for us to keep. We hired him right then. The workers were on task working long days and did a great job doing cleanup daily. Communication with Katie at the office was good about delivery/pickup of supplies. The roof looks wonderful and we will highly recommend them. Abel is a real pleasure to work with, too!

In looking at the work for the initial bid, the owner not only went on the roof and took pictures, he even went so far as to go into our attic to see how the roof looked from the underside. The work went extremely well. The portable restroom for the workers, materials (shingles, flashing, vents, etc.) and debris dumpster after 8am on Friday morning and the crew started work by 10 am. (The original schedule was to start on Monday, but they finished their previous job earlier than expected.) As they moved about the roof, they put tarps on the ground and deck to collect the pieces of old roof material as they removed it, and carried the bulk of it themselves to the dumpster. We had some brief rain showers; they covered the uncovered roof with tarps and waited for the rain to end. I received a call from their office early Saturday morning; they planned to work Saturday, but due to rain had to wait until Monday. Nonetheless, the work was completed by the evening of the following Tuesday, and the dumpster, portable restroom and surplus materials were removed by Wednesday evening. While there were a few bits of shingle, paper, etc., on the ground, in general I would say they left the area very clean. I did not find any staples or nails anywhere, and the crew even used a blower to clean the area at the end of each day. The workers were very considerate of us and the house and property, and certainly worked without delay; one evening they were here until about 6:30 pm to ensure the roof was covered in case of rain. All total they worked most of Friday, all day Monday until 6:30 pm and all day Tuesday. By way of quality, one small portion of gutter was crumpled (I'd guess someone stepped on it), and the crew repaired it so you couldn't see where it happened. The owner allocated 5 pieces of plywood in case of dry rot; only 2 were used, so he credited the cost of 3 back. I've purchased roofs before, and this has to rank up there as one of the most professional home roof replacements I've seen. And it is a very reasonable price.

First of all, of the 5 companies we had bid our roof project, Abel was the most comprehensive and impressive. He spent time explaining the details of a new roof, venting, materials, options, his company philosophy, etc. Then he walked the roof and attic doing a complete inspection & diagram (which none of the other roofers did!) I spoke with both Katie and Glenda in the office and found them very helpful and thorough. The crew arrived on time and worked nearly 12 hours straight, with only a break for lunch, on the first day, and another 9 hours to complete the job the following day. They were hard working and diligent in all they did, completed the job on time, and cleaned up afterwards. We appreciated that Abel came a week or so later and did a followup inspection to make sure all was done to our complete satisfaction. Everything about Klam Construction was first rate. We have recommended them to friends and neighbors with absolute confidence. Thank you, Abel!

Katie in office was very helpful and informative.Job completed in one day, crew was great working together. Did not leave until house area was cleaned up to the level of arrival. Was not a huge job, but still 15 square/flashing /felt/ hip & ridge came to just over 5000.00, which I considered to be a very fair price.I would use again if I needed a roofing project done.

What we hoped would be simple replacement was complicated by the need to replace the plywood on the entire roof. Abel gave us a good deal on the new plywood and the job was completed on schedule. We were totally satisfied with the job done and felt good about our experience with Klam Construction.

We ended up getting 8 different roof replacement estimates and Abel from KLAM made us feel like we'd be getting the best combination of quality and price. Sure there were companies that had cheaper bids up to $2,000 less but we felt that it would be worth spending the extra to get quality service and we are so happy with our decision. Abel was very thorough with our estimate and all followup meetings, he was never pushy or salesmen-like. I don't know how he provides such quality service and attention to care, he must work 24/7! The crew wrapped up our entire roof in one day and gutters were replaced within the week. Everything looks great and it is so nice to have the peace of mind that we have a quality roof above our heads (esp. with the most recent wind storm!). Abel, the owner of the company, came out to our house. He crawled into all 4 attic spaces and took pictures of any problems he saw. He did a thorough inspection. He also noted problems with the flashing around our chimney. He explained in detail why the roof/venting system we had been sold by another company was not working properly. Abel gave us advice on how to handle the situation and what our options are. He could have done the work, however it would void the warranty on our roof. He was very careful to make sure we understood why we should go back to the company that installed our roof. Abel spent 1 and 1/2 hours at our house. I was impressed by his scope of knowledge and his experience. He was easy to talk with and has a wonderful sense of humor. I wish we would have known about him 2 years ago. I highly recommend him for any roofing needs you may have. We are going to follow his FREE advice. PS: He likes coffee.

Exactly as promised. Abel Serrano carefully talked us through each step of the job, explained who would show up when, did everything he could to make it as smooth a process as possible. He watched the weather closely. On the chosen day, as promised, a four-man team showed up about 7:30 a.m. By 4:30 p.m., the roof had been replaced and cleanup completed. From start to finish, we were thankful for the fine work by all involved. (We chose his company after about three weeks of comparing estimates and materials from other roofing companies.).

My experience with KLAM was great from beginning to end. I highly recommend KLAM who I find professional, honest, hard working and fairly priced. Abel, the owner, is so good with what he does and hires great staff, from the office admin to the men working on the roof. Being a single mother who just moved to Oregon, KLAM restored my faith in contractors after having had a really bad experience with Sutherland Plumbing who took advantage of my situation and slighted me.
