Excellent! Abel came to the site right after being called, thoroughly examined the roof and gave an estimate right away. Our only delay was weather related, which was not his fault. In fact, we appreciated the fact that his crew would not start the project until it was safe to do so. Once they started, they were courteous, professional, well organized and clean!! The yard was completely clear of any debris after the project was completed 3 days later. They even worked on the weekend as that was when they had a weather window. They did an exemplary job, one that attracted namy appreciative comments of neighbors. We would hire KLAM construction again in a heartbeat! Get these guys!!

The owner Abel Serrano knows how to do business. This is a gem stone of the business community. Not only was I treated like a member of his family, they completed my roof in one day and meet my specific needs without any problem.

Abel was very through ! He checked the attic and the roof himself before giving us a bid. He included adding more vents and plywood. I was impressed that the crew of six me able to do the work in 2 days. The clean up was complete.

The guys at Klam were great! The owner explained everything very thoroughly and helped us to understand exactly what needed to be done. The roof was torn off and replaced within one day and the gutters were added the next. We felt like they listened to our concerns and were very clear that customer service is the number one priority. I called several companies (some more than once)--many never returned calls and others said it would be at least a month before they even came out to give an estimate. KLAM Construction was immediately responsive to our queries, came in with a detailed and reasonable quote, covered our roof to protect against further damage, and kept us updated on when roof replacement would start. The crew was large, quick, and extremely careful with the dense plantings around our house. Able was attentive and thorough. After the final walk-through, a piece of our gutter came off in yet another rain storm. They were out the next day to reattach the section of gutter with no questions or charge. I highly recommend KLAM construction. We had a super positive experience with them.

Klam was great! It took some time to get our roof done but was due to the rain and snow we had this winter. Abel was great by explaining what to expect and drew out where the new vents would go and why as we had the bathroom vents that needed to be relocated and redirected for better ventilation. The job was to take 3-4 days and they got it done in 2. The crew was very professional and placed protective plywood around the side of the home along with tarps around the perimeter to help with the cleanup. Abel came back out to do a final walk through to make sure we were happy with the service and check on the work in the attic. I Have and would highly recommend Abel and Klam construction crew for any of your roofing needs. He helped a coworker in time of need as her roof was actively leaking and they were quick to get it stopped and replaced a few days later. No need to look any farther if you need any roofing work done, stop now and call Klam Construction!

Klam Construction did an excellent work for me. They did my roof in 1 day which I was surprised. They communicated with me throughout the process. They left my house clean of debris. They were efficient, quick and professional. The quote was right on target. Customer services was very nice and efficient. I would recommend highly this company!

Abel and his crew were absolutely incredible. When I was getting estimates, Abel was the only one who took the time to thoroughly look at the house and anticipate areas that could potentially be surprise costs-and he still gave us a very competitive estimate that he stuck to. His crew got the work done in one day and they did a great job. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Abel was very thorough in his initial inspection, and met with me personally to explain the estimate. His estimate was lower than other estimates I received and included fixing the skylights, which the others did not. Due to the rain it took quite a while for the crew to come out; once they did the work was completed very fast. There was a miscommunication about when the work would actually start, but it only caused a little chaos in the morning.

I called four companies for estimates on tearing off the existing roof and re-roofing my house and detached garage. Three returned my call and sent someone to my house to evaluate the job. Abel Serrano, the president of Klam Construction, was the only one to actually provide a written bid. The estimators for the other two companies pointed out some architectural features that would make roofing cumbersome and the fact that it would not be possible to place a drop box next to the house. One of the other estimators told me his company would install ridgetop vents, without actually investigating whether or not they would be appropriate for my house. Abel took me into the attic to investigate the airflow and showed me why rooftop vents would not work. Another estimator told me that his company was already booked until late spring and said that, if anyone bid less than $25,000, and I was comfortable with the company, I should hire them. In other words, of the four companies I contacted, Klam Construction was the only one interested in re-roofing my house and garage. Abel prepared a detailed bid, with diagrams showing what materials would be used in each area and the exact placement of vents. He told me about his experience and the history of Klam Construction. I was impressed with his thoroughness and the fact that he listened to what I wanted. I was also pleasantly surprised that he said Klam could do the job soon. This winter has been unusually cold and snowy, which delayed the beginning somewhat but, when his crew arrived, they worked very hard from dawn until after dark until the job was done. Even though the temperature was 20 degrees, the crew seemed happy, which made me happy too. One of them even whistled while he worked. They cleaned the area at the end of each day, using a magnetic roller to pick up any stray metal and a leaf blower to get rid of the dust. They finished the main part of the job in two days and a few hours, right before the return of the snow. Abel explained that the temperature has to be higher for the material used on the flat part of the roof, so they installed another material in the meantime and will return when the weather is warmer to put on the permanent covering. He said I could pay the final $1000 when that is done. They left my yard cleaner and neater than it was when they started. I’m very happy with Klam Construction and the work they did for me.

Abel was always very punctual and professional. His team was courteous and worked hard. They completed everything in two days. The work was done exactly as asked and is clearly of good quality. Abel met with me several times before construction, because I had questions about ventilation and skylight options. He willingly answered my questions and adjusted the scope of work when I shifted my plan. He also met with me after construction to walk through the work and answer any final questions. He and his team were personable, and they clearly care about pleasing the customer. They took extra care to protect my new deck and garden. They pointed out issues that they found (like an ailing chimney) and advised us to keep an eye on it. Also, their labor is guaranteed (as are their roofing products), so they will come and fix anything that isn't quite right in the years to come. Klam's bid was competitive - it was the best relative to the quality we were promised and received.

We were very pleased with Abel's willingness to go over all the details to our satisfaction. There was no sales pressure and we were encouraged to take our time before signing a contract. Abel then watched the weather closely as it was close to thanksgiving holiday. There was a short window of clearing and they had already delivered the roofing material and went to work. The roof was done promptly in a day and a half! The crew was on time, polite and respectful of our home and property. All the mess was completely removed. Then it poured rain for two days and the gutter crew returned on Thanksgiving day and put the gutters up in two hours in the pouring rain before our guests arrived. The Sun tubes were done a few days later by a specifically trained crew member and there was no damage to the ceilings and once again they were very respectful and professional. Abel came regularly during the work and took pictures of every step of the process to show us before he accepted the final payment. There had been more wood rot than originally anticipated thus requiring replacement of more under lay on the roof. He took pictures of each piece of plywood so we could see why it needed replacing. Great company and great crews. We had also had trouble with leaking around the chimney and he brought that up to code and added more vents as well.

They are always punctual, easy to work with and extremely competitive in their pricing. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof, roof repair or gutter work.

I met with Abel to discuss replacing my roof. He pointed out a couple of areas of siding that needed replacement as well (which no other roofing contractor brought up). The bid was very reasonable and included a higher quality shingle than the other roofers quoted. They completed my roof in a timely manner. The crew was very professional and friendly. They arrived early morning and worked until dark and cleaned up before they left at night. I am so pleased with the outcome and this company, that I referred them to my neighbors and my sister. My neighbors were also impressed and will be using Klam Construction in the spring and they will also be replacing my mother's roof. I had many bids, as this is a large expenditure. Don't make your choice until you have talked to this company!

This job could not have gone better. Kalam Construction is one of those rare contractors who clearly work by the motto of anything worth doing is worth doing right. From the get-go I knew that Abel and his company would do a fantastic job. During the bidding process, they were attentive, thorough and followed through. Where other companies bid based on computer images, Abel actually climbed on the roof to see what was needed. The crew itself was fast, courteous, clean and thorough. The cosmetic carpentry work was stellar. They took the time to address the little details that make all the difference both in our home’s appearance and in the quality of the installation itself. I would enthusiastically recommend Klam Construction to anyone seeking a new roof, and especially anyone who values the aesthetic of their home.

I appreciate the promptness of the crew and Abel. The work was done is one day with perfection. The crew was wonderful. Abel sent 6 guys out to do the job. Just watching them work demonstrated organization, skills and knowledge. Abel returned my phone call within a couple of hours to schedule an appointment for an assessment of the roof. He came out the next day. Abel was very interested in the work and he made the process very easy. Abel was very considerate and organized. The price was a few thousand dollars less that we thought. We referred him to our friend across the street to have his roof done. I will always refer anyone to Abel for any work to be done.

Klam Construction provided a very competitive quote for roofing. They were thorough in inspection and estimation for work that needed to be done. Able was very pleasant to work with. Work was completed ahead of schedule. The material quality and installation was very good.

Abel and his crew/staff were amazing! Abel came out initially to inspect the roof and made detailed drawings, so he could explain to his us and his crew, exactly what they would be doing. We made a second appointment to go over the estimate, and once we agreed on a price, we wrote up the contract. Katie called two days later, to get us on their schedule for the following week. We were not at home on 8/16/2016, when they dropped off the huge drop box and roofing materials, so we told them where we would like the drop box positioned in our driveway, and they were careful to place it just where we asked. We expected the job to take two days, but the crew showed up at 7:00 AM on 8/17/2016, and actually finished our roof about 7:00 PM, that same day! Everyone was polite, and very professional! Katie called around noon, to let us know that they had found some dry rot, and we would need to replace about 6 sheets of plywood. Abel called in the afternoon to ask how we felt everything was going, and to ask if they were meeting our expectations... They definitely were! The crew did a good job of cleaning up and we are very happy with our beautiful new roof. We would (and already have), highly recommend them!

Klam Construction (Able - Owner) was very very good to work with. We had defective shingles (CertainTeed has announced the defective manufacturing batch) and Klam provided 100% full support in achieving successful settlement with the existing shingle provider for defective shingles. Organized credit from CertainTeed, showed up exactly on time with all supplies, completed job exactly on time. Klam Construction crew was extremely polite, worked diligently to avoid any disruption to my home office needs, and worked to complete the entire tear off and replacement in 2 days (home is 5K sq. ft). In addition, the crew was also very focused on maintaining cleanliness around the home (100% 360 degree cleanup several times per day - including full magnet sweeps by different individuals making sure nothing was missed) with the result being very little impact to our ability to live in our home during the process. Use Klam Construction...They will do the job correctly or they won't do it at all (and don't ask them to cut corners...it will be a deal killer for them as Abel holds the reputation of his company in very hight esteem. And it shows!

this house has been added onto several times over it's nearly 100 years of existence. with all of the the unseen possible problems when roof was covered with old singles, they didn't hesitate to fix and make sound any problems that could creep up in the future. klam construction showed up and took care of everything down to the last nail. very well done and my wife and i couldn't be happier. thanks

We hired Klam Construction to re-roof our house; our house had a shake roof and we wanted a good looking 50 yr roof. We looked on line and after having quotes from both large and small Portland area roofers we choose Klam. What sold us on Klam besides a fair price was his knowledge and his desire to do the best job. What he proposed as standard was extras with all the other companies, this included plywood underlayment, ice and snow shield in the valleys, lead vent caps and replacement of the Sky Lights. His crew was amazing and very professional. They were on the roof working at all times and in a safe manor, no loud music or yelling, they also kept the garbage to a minimum during the day and cleaned up every night before leaving

Overall good job. Needed to put orange cones out so horse traiers and trucks would go around building and avoid getting nails in the tires.
