These guys were great!!!! Rick in the sales office was prompt, informative but not pushy. He came up with a plan that addressed all of our need and concerns (we own an older home and are doing a major reno) He was able to figure out a solution for our sun room (hot in the summer/ cold in the winter) added a huge duct and zone control. Problem solved and the furnace or AC don't run very much to keep up with it. The installation crew was on time, clean, courteous and professional. They really knew what they were doing. They did run into a few unexpected challenges but came up with great solutions that made the whole system better. They added gas lines to two fireplaces and the install looks great! The install did take an extra day, due to the challenges. The quote was for the work was spot on, no hidden cost and the work looks great. I would call then in a heart beat. The price was middle of the bids but the work was done well and my wife who hates a mess in the home was very pleased at the end of each work day, not to mention when they were all done she loved how clean the place was.

Our Heat and Air Conditioning both went out. We could not fix it. I called Honke and they had Ron come out 2 days later. It was warm so the wait did not bother me. I could have had them come the same day but evening hours are more expensive. I was given a choice of morning or afternoon. They told me he would be coming between 10am - 12 pm. He arrived at 9:45 and I was given a call before he came to let me know he was on his way. Ron was very professional. He found the problem. And replaced the blown transformer, found the source of the short, replaced that wire. He added a circuit breaker even though the new transformer had a circuit breaker built into it but this is added security so that it does not happen again. We were not charged for that circuit breaker. Ron was very professional and so helpful with showing me how to program my thermostat.

Everything went great. Same day service and he had all the new parts with him that we needed. Very professional and quick response. We would definately use them again and highly recommend them.

Bids received from 2 gas furnace installers. Selection of Honke Heating was based on close proximity and detailed, yet concise, contract. Bid was received within 1 or 2 days. Initial bid was high, but quickly reduced significantly to match a 2nd bid when it was introduced. Installation was scheduled within a week. A team of 2 installers completed the task within one day. Cleanup was lacking: area in vicinity of furnace still needed to be swept next day & several sheet metal screws were found in the garage, driveway & adjacent garden area. Also, foil insulation had come loose in a couple of areas within the first week. Problem of uneven heat distribution was resolved, but a new problem was introduced--noisy fan. Definitely noisier than the old furnace and much noiser than I would expect for a residential situation. A recent call to the Honke Heating brought an immediate response to explore ways to reduce the noise level. So far, no change in noise level noticed. On last visit, a new problem was noticed--a leak in the PVC exhaust pipe. About 6 ft. of elbowed pipe was sawed off & replaced. Foil insulation surrounding the pipe was tightened up at my request. However, PVC dust was not swept up. Honke Heating has consistently demonstrated prompt response, but the quality of that response has been inconsistent.

he was great very knowledgable about boilers and in floor heat systems. he listened to what i told him about what the system was doing and was very courteous, took care of problem and was very professional about what he did.

The heating ducts in my attic had come loose so that heat was not being blown into the upstairs bedrooms. Honke reconnected them, now these rooms are heated again.

The whole process was pretty easy. I called for an estimate for my home, and the representative came over for the inspection. He came prepared and gave me an overview of what was needed. The next day he sent me the quote. I waited over 30 days to make my decision and sent him an email to ask if the offer was still good. He responded farily quickly and said it was still good. He came over one more time to make some measurements and scheduled the install for the following week. The next week, the installer was there on time and he was done before 3:00pm. He showed me what he did and how to operate the heat pump. All this was done before the warmest day, so far, of the year. I'm very impressed with the heat pump and Honke. I'd recommend them to anyone.

The office called and said the service tech is available to come out sooner than expected and if that was OK. The tech arrived as the office had stated. Within the hour I had a new condensate pump and was back in business.

I bought a house during the winter and the inspector did not look at the A/C at all. I tried to turn it on in May and it did not work. Found the breaker box melted inside and at that point contacted Honke. A tech came out later that week (the first day I was available). He was very punctual and polite. He replaced the entire breaker box, and even quickly went to the store to purchase new fuses, although the old ones probably would have worked. I found the price to be extremely reasonable and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Estimator Ron looked at present system and gave 3 options for our job on April 28. He proposed a solution to our cold air return issues. He included disposal of oil tank. We got bids from 2 other companies. Neither proposed solutions to cold air return or oil tank disposal. We accepted Honke's bid ( choosing the high effieciency Lennox option) Of the three companies Honke was the middle one in price, but included more services. We chose Honke on May 6 and installation was completed on May 14 with all testing and rebate paperwork done by May 24. Workers were very courteous and efficient. I was concerned about the way the outside exchanger was being mounted. The pad was placed on a slope built up with existing pea gravel. I furnished 3 wheel barrow loads of 3/4' crushed gravel to try to stabalize the situation, but it still appeared unstable. They then brought in concrete blocks to shore up the end of the pad, and it is a very solid installation. My point is, they worked with me until I was satisfied. Also the exchanger had to be brought in over very rough ground. Twice, I had to save the exchanger from tipping off the hand truck. I finally furnished a piece of plywood to provide a more stable path. As the customer/property owner, be there and observe what is going on.

We found Honke Heating on the NW Natural website as one of the certified contractors during NW Natural's summer promotion. We talked with Rick who came out to our house to give us a quote on replacing our furnace. He was very accommodating to when we could meet him - after work at 5:30 pm. Rick was the only contractor to point out: a hose would be needed, in case of draining, to exit the furnace and into a sink; that lowering the water heater would be no problem and explained exactly what type of materials would be used to do this. After talking with our second option (Midway Heating - [Brad]) and Rick again, Rick said he could offer a 2% discount for paying in cash. Rick was very nice, not pushy, personable, and we felt very comfortable doing business with him and Honke Heating. The contract was clear and detailed. After the contract was signed we received a call from Dan who scheduled the installation of the furnace two weeks away. This was a very busy time for Honke Heating as the summer promotion was ending very soon. The worker came out and installed our furnace in two days. The work looked great. The only problem we noticed was the pipes outside were unexpected. We were told that two holes would be punched to the outside and covered. However, we discovered two large and somewhat ugly pipes crawling up our outside wall. We found out that these upward pipes were required by law because our vent to the outside was near a window and wall. We told Rick about this after the installation was complete and he came out to our house to take a look. Rick offered to cover the pipes along the wall but we decided that it was fine since the pipes were on the backside of our house. We received all of the tax credit and rebate information clearly lined out in the mail and all we had to do was sign, date, & mail. It was so simple! Although we were surprised by the outside pipes, it did not concern us, and we were very pleased with the work and with Honke Heating. We are waiting for the weather to get colder to fully test the furnace. Note: Price listed is before rebates, tax credits, & discounts.

Tuned up and cleaned furnace and air conditioner. The tech was prompt and friendly. When he realized I was going to hang around and watch, he explained what he was doing as he worked. He went above and beyond, showing me where my gas shutoffs were for my furnace and AC, and allowing me to practice removing the fuse module for the AC so I could swap fuses myself in future if needed. They gave me a bigger discount than NW Natural said they would. The tech (Matt) left everything clean, wiping down the equipment exterior, even though that was purely cosmetic. Great experience.

There have been several times when they have sent people out in emergency situations. They always come out that day within the time frame that they provide for me. They have actually taught us some troubleshooting techniques that we should try before calling them. I have found them to provide nice, reliable, and consistent service. They charge by the hour, but I have found them to be reasonable.

They were amazingly wonderful! The salesman who helped me through making a decision on what I actually wanted was totally patient and professional. The workmen were courteous and fast! I couldn't be happier. The office helped with all the paperwork for the rebates I was entitled to. I've told everybody about them - if you have a heating need, these are the guys!

They were very good. They were professional, on time and they did a great job.

They came out and switched our electric furnace out for a high efficiency gas furnace. We discovered that some of the requirements for switching from electric to gas were not met during installation. We had to have them come out several times to finish the job correctly. The first night the hot water heater started leaking water and we had to have them come out to repair that as well. They did come out on the same night that we called about the leaking hot water. We will not be using this company again. We will be finding another company for the annual service.

They are real honest and dependable. They have a fair price.

Had some trouble getting our project scheduled after accepting their big. No one called to set a date for 2 weeks. I had to call 2 times before someone called back. The work performed was good.

I called today because I needed a new estimate, because the installation was going to change slightly. I told this to the person on the phone and she said there would be a charge for coming out. I said, "Don't you do free estimates?" and she said no. I was just trying to give Honke the opportunity to get their bid in because I liked Corey and feel he'd do the job right. Sorry Corey.

Overall it went OK. Rick is an agreeable guy and so were the installers and the electrician sub-contractors. The work did start a day or two late and it took two weeks to do what was estimated as a two day job. We had to keep calling Rick to find out what was going on and while he always came through, it would have been better service if the communication was initiated from Honke instead. There also seemed to be a lack of communication between Honke staff and the sub-contractors which caused some re-work. When we got the inspection from Clackamas County, it passed with changes;some of the seals weren't quite right. We called Honke and they said they would come out but they never did. I don't know how important it really is to have the seals corrected and I didn't pursue it with Honke after the first contact about the inspection. I probably won't have the perseverance necessary to keep calling them to get the seals completed.
