It seems to me they were pretty good and there were no complaints. They had a fair price and did a good job. They had serviced this house before so that was handy. We had just moved in the house so this was the first time we used them. We did not have any issues. I believe they were right on time.

It is a big one. They are excellent and are very good. This is who I would call for service. On their last service they actually did not need to do any repair because it was something they couldn't do. It was not in their field to do. It was more of a diagnostic-type call. I think their price is reasonable. They are prompt, courteous and know what they are doing.

They were fantastic. I really loved using them. The work was great.

It went well. They were an excellent company to work with.

After having a local (Hood River) company check out me non-functioning outside A/C unit and telling me the compressor was bad and the the whole A/C system needed to be replaced (to a tune of >$4800) I had Honke out even though they wanted a little over $100 just to make the trip. Boy am I glad I did. The first thing the tech checked were the fuses outside at the unit and found they were blown. A few bucks in fuses and the trip charge and I've enjoied my cool home for the summer. How the first company could have missed that I'll never know. Isn't checking to see if there is power the FIRST thing you test for?

I can't believe it's taken me almost four months to sit down and write this review. As it so happens today is the day that we (Portland) broke the record for the most days over 90 degrees in a year. To say I'm glad i got A/C installed is an understatement. I live in a split level house with my bedroom on the second floor and I work night shift so I have to sleep with room darkened curtains during the day when it can just cook inside my house. Compared to last year when I didn't have A/C my quality of rest has gone way up (along with my mood). Everyone I dealt with at Honke Heating and A/C made this process as simple and quick as possible. I had several quotes over about a two week period and even though Honke was not the cheapest I was really impressed with their salesman Rick. He was very thorough in his assessment of my property and what I would need and he answered all of my questions regarding costs and installation. We set up a day and time for the installation about three weeks out on one of my days off. Barry was the guy who came over to install the A/C unit and he was right on time. We went over the work that was to be done and then I left him to it and went upstairs to get some sleep. From the time Barry showed up until all the work was done (including a solar powered attic fan) and he was ready to leave took about 6 or 7 hours. A few weeks later an inspector from the city of Gresham came by and signed off that all of the work was up to code including the electrical. I have been very pleased with my purchase and have used it a good deal this summer. My unit is quiet and efficient and I plan on getting alot of use out of it for many years. My experience with everyone at Honke Heating and A/C was very positive and I am very pleased with the work they did. I will definitely use them in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about getting A/C installed in their house.

My A/C Unit stopped working completely. Called Honke around 8 in the morning, Matt was there by 10am. Turned out to be a worn out connector/relay in the unit. My house is 22 years old, and I'm pretty sure the A/C unit is original. Matt fit a newer connector to it and got it working again. I was really worried I would have to shell out a couple grand for a new unit. The A/C was running again less than 2 and half hours after calling them. Great service, extremely quick, reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them.

I called. They promised a call back to schedule. First available time was 20 days out and I had to be available between 8 and noon, otherwise they could not schedule the appointment. They noted that they come to Hood River (where I am and they advertise they service) when they can group visits so if I wasn't available for the time they had available for me then it was going to be much harder to schedule a repair. In addition, they charge $105 just to show up.

Rick Coleman, the estimator, was extremely knowledgable and professional. He recommended exactly the right unit, did not oversize for my needs just to make a bigger sale. He was the only one of the contractors who came out to bid who was prepared and brought his own tools. The other two contractors had to borrow my tools just to get me an estimate. He also came out again on the install date to make sure that the installers understood the install notes and completed the job properly the first time. The installers were great; very efficient and conscientious and even vacuumed my entire basement once they were done. Excellent work all around. The only fault I could find was in the scheduling side; the scheduler said she would be contacting the city to schedule the final inspection for me. She did not, as I found out when I contacted the city after waiting for over a month to hear from an inspector. I was told by the inspector's office that Honke Heating never called to ask for the final inspection. Since this is a critical step in any mechanical permitting/install process, and the contractor's responsibility, I have to downgrade them for this. Hopefully they will read this review and make changes to their process so this doesn't happen again.

The salesman who came out, his name was Rick, was extremely knowledgeable, very easy to work with, and provided good advice about things.

Everything is working fine. The insulation was great. They've been great so I've been very happy with their work. I was happy with them last year so this year, I didn't even get any other bids for the work, I just had them put in the second system because they were great.

Scheduling took several weeks, but once work started was done in a day. Installers were fast and professional.

Great job - using them again for heAting maintenence in november.

I have used Honke in the past for service to my old electric furnace. They are always prompt, reliable and courteous.Highly recommend.

I called and arranged an appointment with Honke Heating to come to my house. A few days before the appointment, I called to request that the service person call me (as opposed to my renter) a half hour ahead of his arrival. I was met with a very poor attitude on the part of the receptionist, who 1) heaved a big sigh as I asked for the change in phone number, and 2) insisted the service person could only call me ten minutes ahead of my appointment time. At that point, I asked to speak to the manager. He called me back, and when I explained to him the poor service I was getting on the phone, he became defensive and didn't care that I had concerns. I would have used them had I not received this treatment. I will never use this company.

I've done business with Honke for years now. They are first class all the way. This was just a routine filter change - they've also installed my air conditioning/heating unit, cleaned my oil burning stove and just generally been first class about everything all the time. They do all my routine yearly furnace checks and repairs. They are very, very reliable and knowledgeable, and I depend on them a lot - they've never disappointed me.

Honke was a professional company, thorough and complete. They did a great job from start to finish. The quote was the lowest I got and the quality was beyond reproach. They even kept calling me to set up removal of the oil tank itself many months after completion of the project and they were paid. This was part of the contract and they kept to it to the last little item. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Nice people and we have had them do repair and service work in the past with great satisfaction, but this job was just quoted way too high in comparison to others with like equipment. I would recommend people to contact them for their needs as they are a reputable company.

They are punctual, efficient and cheerful. Tecnician explained everything and answered questions.

We had a problem with our AC unit. So we purchased an Angie's List Big Deal with another heating and air conditioning company located in Gresham. BIG MISTAKE!!! They arrived and left and the AC unit was still not working. The tech who arrived was aloof, and didn't know what the deal we purchased included. The main staff woman was rude and not very helpful. They told us we had a refrigerant leak and wanted to charge us hundreds! Then we called Honke for a second opinion. They were prompt and professional. They inspected the unit and told us it was just a blown fuse. They fixed it right away. They were honest and fair. They didn't try to take advantage of us like the other Gresham heating and air conditioning company we called. Honke is the best! Just call them, skip all headaches. These are good people!

During the snow storm our furnace stopped working. I called around and got some shady over the phone advice from a company that didn't want to come out. Since Honke had done maintenance on our furnace before I gave them a call. It was Saturday and they were all booked up until Monday. They put me on the waiting list in case they had a cancelation. I got a call several hours later that someone was coming out to fix our furnace. Turns out one of the managers had stopped by the office saw the waiting list and decided to go to work. We were so thankful he did. He got our heat back on that day. The problem was mineral deposits that had built up in the condensate lines for years that caused them to clog. Once he cleared them out we had heat again! He did warn us that once the condensate lines are removed that they could crack and should we see any leaking to call him back. Over the next couple days we saw some leaking called him back and he sent someone over to install a new condensate trap and adapter fittings for $229.

Better than I could have asked for.

He was very efficient and cleaned everything up where he worked! I would never hesitate to call on them because their service is excellent !

istalled new heating/cooling vent in our last home

We live in a 23 year old manufactured home. We were considering replacing our aging, yet still operational heat pump. It was approximately 20 years old, and we felt it was probably at the end of it's useful life. What expedited our decision to replace the heat pump was a major problem that occurred with the air handler unit. We discovered the problem after having a Honke HVAC service technician come out to initially evaluate the viable life of the original Ruud heat pump. Before the heat pump was looked at, though, we asked the technician to evaluate a loud noise we were noticing in the air handler. This is when we discovered the old air handler was needing immediate and expensive repairs. Because of this, we opted to replace both the air handler and the heat pump with Ruud equipment; one of the system options carried by Honke. The salesman, Rick Coleman, was very courteous, spending much time with us, explaining options. On May 30, 2013 the Honke installer came promptly at a predetermined time, and efficiently removed and replaced all the old equipment, with the new system. The installation took the better part of a day and a half. As part of the process an electrician from Bullseye Electric, hired by Honke, came to wire the new unit into our home's electrical system. All in all, Honke sales, service and office staff, and the electrician from Bullseye Electric, did a professional and gratifying job. I would highly recommend both Honke Heating and Air Conditioning and Bullseye Eye electric from my experience with both companies.
