Dale was here when he said he would be and was able to give us a bid and do the work right away. He forgot one small thing, but returned that day to take care of it.

I bought a 1928 house that had a poorly fitting, non-standard size INTERIOR door as the exterior back door. The floor under the threshold was rotten and there was an awkward short height difference between the door and the sidewalk below (due to sidewalk settling) that was unsafe. Previous owners had rented out the house and the backdoor had also been kicked in (a few times, I'd guess) so the door frame was cracked beyond repair. We also realized the opening was not square- due to settling over the years. Grand Openings spent a grueling 2 long days in the hot sun to cut a larger opening (cutting thru concrete foundation and exterior stucco, interior lathe & plaster), install a new doorframe that was actually square and slightly larger to accommodatea standard size door, fixed a problem on the interior wall next to the door to properly trim the door and even cleaned up the mess in the house entry and back yard. And at a fair and reasonable price. Did I mention I changed my mind 4 or 5 times on the initial door order to begin with? Dale was very patient and accommodating throughout the process and the work looks great! Highly recommend to anyone with a complicated issue or older home with age concerns.

It was great. Dale took extremely careful measurements, and was thoughtful about how to solve the problem of replacing the front door. (Door and wall thicknesses have changed, and some strange details had been created over the years). He was enthusiastic and stayed true to his bid without any complications. He had the new door milled to match the existing sidelite details, and brought the door to the site on the day of installation. He took as much time as was needed to make it a thorough, beautiful job. He left the site clean and complete. As previously agreed upon, I stained and finished the door, so had lots of opportunity to touch and study it and conclude that it was as good a job as I could ever have hoped for. He and his assistant were also extremely kind and courteous. I've had many interactions with contractors, and wish they could all be like this one.

He did an excellent job. The tenant is very happy with the door. It looks nice. He is very patient and does excellent work. He put in quite a bit of time and he is thorough. He does nice work. I was satisfied with the results.

The Windows were not special. But he made them look Special. He matched the trim on the outside of the cottage and he did custom fitting of the trim on the interior. It looks like all the windows were installed at the same time. For such custom carpenter work, I should have paid more. He also installed a new front door am screen door. Again, he he is a Master carpenter. I see dale every so often and he asks if every thing is still OK and working well. I plan to use him again in the future.

I purchased a Truax Security Door in 2010 and it started to misalign last month, the company recommended Dale. We corresponded a few times before our appointment date, Dale followed-up promptly. He was prompt for our scheduled appointment, showed-up in a van with a logo and was very professional (meaning it wasn't a guy with tools in the back seat of his Honda.) A good guy and would recommend.

He would try his best to fit my small job in earlier if is schedule permitted. Dale called on a Sat around noon and said he would be in area in afternoon if I was going to be home. Dale was professional throughout the job. Attention to detail and quality of work apparent. He adjusted door several times until it was perfectly aligned with no gaps around frame and closed/locked properly. Completed work in just over an hour and left front entrance area clean and orderly.I greatly appreciate his willingness to take on a small job and complete it on a timely basis at an affordable price. I highly recommend Dale to others and will certainly contact Grand Openings in the future should the need arise for door and window needs.

I was happy with the part where he weatherstripped and replaced the window in my door. Part of the job was to make the old doorknob tight and it was loose and dropping screws soon. I was told that was not in scope of work. He then said he'd come by and never did, even though he lives blocks from me and goes to my dads church :(

He saved me $250 fixing my door so I wouldnt have to replace it. He be terrific. He was a wonderful guy to deal with. If you have a door problem call him first.

It was fabulous. The man that worked on my house went way above and beyond what I had hoped for. The results were outstanding. I am planning on having them back out to do some railings. They got the job done in about 2 weeks. The cleanup was perfect.

It is one of the best things that has happened to our house. We have used other people for the job before and it did not hold up. We are comfortable now in the house. They got the job done in about 4 hours. The workers were pleasant.

Dale is very skilled and takes great effort to insure that all work is done with a high level of quality. Dale is also a good guy--always friendly, upbeat and easygoing. He is basically a one person operation and is highly sought after, so it took longer than I had hoped for him to get to and to complete the work--but in the end it was worth it. I highly recommend him unless you have lots of work that needs to be done in a short timeframe. Of course, I caught him during the busy home repair season, so his schedule may free up during the Fall and Winter.

Dale was on time & worked extra hard to finish in one day. He cleaned up & was considerate and friendly. Our doors are working wonderfully!

Our door leading onto the deck faces west, and as such it is exposed to considerable wet winter weather and hot summer sun. After 20+ years, the wood was deteriorating due to dry rot and warping. The door sill was in terrible shape due to dry rot at one end, and the plate was actually loose creating a hazard when exiting. The door was not longer closing tightly, and the air draft could be felt around it. Dale knew exactly what he was going to do to repair the sill and install the door. I've tried door installation before and it isn't easy for the uninitiated....but Dale made it look easy. He knows how to fix doors. Dale was professional, courteous and did excellent work. He worked diligently all day starting about 9:45 am, and finished around 5 pm. His work is complete: he even caulked around the molding. We've already asked him to return to fix another door we have. He is excellent at what he does, and I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

These were some challenging jobs that others had failed to fix. Front door is a big, heavy oak door that needed to be glued where panels had separated, and lock was gummed up. Sliding glass door had never worked smoothly. Now lock works great and door slides easily. I am sure the front door will be a huge improvement in keeping cold air out when winter comes. Dale definitely knows doors and how to fix them. He came when promised and worked for two days until jobs were completed. We would definately use him again if needed.

We called Dale on Friday and he came out on Saturday to repair an old large heavy glass sliding patio door that would not open or close and was stuck. Also it would not lock. Dale was very professional and pleasant to talk to. He found the problem, showed us what was wrong and quickly repaired it. Dale gave us a good price on the repair. He also went the extra mile for us by fixing our front door lock for free. He noticed the problem as he was leaving. We will definitely use Dale again for any future work we may need to have completed.

I can best sum up Dale's work with two words: "professionalism" and "competence". He was always on time. He always called to say he would be arriving, immediately answered emails, and was a pleasure to have working in our home. He quietly dealt with any problems and changes that came up. He is very experienced in dealing specifically with doors and respected the age of our door and the features of the era. I had complete confidence in his abilities and his work. The final product was great, and I would not hesitate to recommend his company.

Fantastic! Dale worked with our abnormal door sizes and was able to fit the doors to the existing frames. The finished product looks fabulous.

I contacted him. The first estimate was too expensive. He worked with me to get the price down. He was at my house about 11 hours. He did a great job and left my house cleaned up.
