Description of Work: "Repaired door jamb. So excellent cannot even see the repair. Also installed new French doors by employee Shawn. Great attention to detail and doing the job right. Very pleased with final product. Fair and reasonable price for excellent job. Dale has long experience and knows tons about doors. Description of Work: I called scheduled a date for an estimate. They dropped the ball. No follow up call. They forgot the appointment and the reason why I had scheduled an appointment. They asked to reschedule on a day I wasn't available and to leave the keys. Really? I don't think so.

He listens to the home owner and offers creative solutions. We love the results of our new door, and feel much prouder of the entry way.

His work is perfect and made my house look the way it was always meant to look. The window frames were replaced and look as if they are original to the house. Siding that had been badly installed is now perfect. I will recommend Grand Openings to anyone looking for door or window work.

 + -1 moreIn the process of restoring a mid-century modern home in Portland's Hazelwood neighborhood, I have found that it can be difficult to find highly skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work. That is, until I found Dale of Grand Openings. I am admittedly a super-picky client and this house is a labor of love, so doing this work requires skill, patience and a good understanding of historical methods. Dale fit the bill perfectly. He is a master craftsman that clearly takes pride in his work. In addition to finishing the garage and several interior walls in finish plywood, Dale has also installed period-apprpropriate moldings and numerous doors. All of the above are meant to be left unpainted, so there is very little room for error and, of course, nothing in this 1954 home is perfectly plumb or true. Dale has done excellent work on all counts with the patience of Job and at a very fair price. On top of it all, he is an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Grand Openings.
