He didn't actually do any work for me but he was very helpful and I plan on using him again in the future. The insights he gave me were spot on.

Came the day we called. Cut the hole. Returned to build cover after plumber's repair. JC was congenial and did a good job.

Excellent experience and work. Even though they encountered difficulties in cleaning the drains the quoted price did not change. Very professional, provided advice on slate and tile work we need done and will return next week to do that work. They will be the first people I call when I need work done on our home.

They are very reliable and would recommend them. They had helped me do a couple of things at my daughters house which was spur of the moment and that is when I thought that I would call them again if I ever need something done. They did an amazing job and will be coming back to do more work. They are clean and neat. I can trust them because if they know how to do it then they will do it and if they don't know how to do it then they won't do it; I like this about them.

JC Unger responded quickly and went out to look at the damage. He began to secure the building as soon as we had completed the required paperwork, which we did via email in order to speed things up because of my safety concerns. He had the power off and the building secured in a few days. The tenants were then able to take advantage of a dry weekend and move their vehicles and belongings out and away from the barn. JC then went to work cutting the branches off the tree and demolishing the structure. He did this in a remarkable fast time, considering that the weather had deteriorated again, and the barn was at the bottom of a steep and muddy hill. One discovery he made during the demolition was that a previous owner had tapped into the 220 line that ran to the well pump and had improvised wiring to the barn. The conduit he used was a garden hose. JC was able to track this unexpected electrical wiring back to the circuit breakers on the pole, and disconnect it. Unfortunately, the circuit breakers were not well installed nor new, so the power to the well pump decreased, which caused it to stop working. This all happened at the end of a long day, but JC did not clock out and go home for the night. He took the time to drop off his worker and went and got a replacement circuit breaker. He then went back out to the farm and in the dark he installed the new breaker so that the tenants would have the water they needed (with two teenagers in the house, they did need the water running). This selfless action was a step above and beyond in my opinion, and why I so highly recommend JC Unger. Like I said previously, he could have just called it a night and headed home, but he took the time to take care of another person's need. The rest of the demolition went smoothly with no more surprises and was done quickly. I will be hiring JC Unger again as soon as the ground dries out a bit. I want him to build the replacement building and to grade and gravel the drive. If you need someone who does a good job and is conscientious, then I highly recommend Unger Construction. You won't find any better!

I love Unger Construction. J.C. is awesome. I've used him several times. He does a lot of different things. I've seen pictures of work he's done for other people, like houses he's built and he does everything. I trust him. He's really helpful and he points out things. I just really like him. He's well worth the money because you can trust him with your property. I would trust him for any work in the house you need done. He shows up on time. He's knowledgeable. He has everything you need. He's experienced. He's just a great guy.

Our home has some unorthodox architectural areas that were causing leaks near some 2nd story windows. I contacted Unger Construction to give me an estimate on repairing this. JC Unger promptly returned my calls, and was very professional. He arrived at our home and spent an impressive amount of time carefully inspecting the roof and the adjacent outside wall and window around the leak area. JC put more attention and care into his inspection than the other 3 contractors who looked at the problem. In the end, he offered three different remedies for the problem by order of cost and complexity. His approach was very practical and honest, and he explained that the problem could likely be fixed by a simple roofing job, rather than a full blown construction job. (One contractor was recommending replacing the windows, rebuilding the wall, and re-roofing to the tune of $30k). We had the house re-roofed (it needed it) and gave the roofers the specific flashing recommendations JC suggested. We're a couple months into winter and there have been no leaks. We're considering it fixed. I trust and would strongly recommend Unger Construction for home repairs, repair estimates, and evaluations.

He came up, checked the fine glass window, removed the fine glass door, cleaned the track, and put it back together and we do not have any problem since. The company is prompt, personable, very clean, and very professional.

Met with Mr. Unger and explained the projects that we wanted done. We was informative and helpful and had done similar projects in the past. Asked for a bid on two of the projects -- bids submitted were incomplete and a timeline could not be established for the work to be done. Mr. Unger bowed out of the project due to a personal commitment and a heavy work schedule.

He was very helpful. He told me I could do it and I was really able to do it myself. He even called back to see how it worked out for me. I really appreciate it. I am going to use them if I need to have something done that I cannot do myself.

We live in California and have family in Oregon. The paint on their kitchen ceiling around the light fixture had begun to peal. A kind neighbor went on the roof to take a look and found moss growing there, which he pulled off. After that, the pealing grew much more, so we called a few local roofing companies to assess the situation and offer estimates. Their analyses all varied about how much work was necessary (some even wanting to redo the 7-year-old roof). We had a final roofer scheduled to take a look, but we canceled that appointment after we received JC's feedback. He noticed that there was no leak from the roof at all (just evidence of an obviously older leak). He observed that the pealing paint was likely due to improper priming (between two different kinds of paint bases) before the house was bought 7 years ago. This made sense to us and saved us thousands in re-roofing costs. We didn't have the funds to repaint at the time, but we would call JC to do the work without hesitation when we can.

Hi quality work, JC is very honest and does work the right way, no shortcuts. He'll advise on ideas. Lets you know what he is doing and why. He'll correct work he finds not done well in the past. Very neat, protects the work area and access areas of the project and cleans up after himself each day. Very courteous and professional.Highly recommend him for work. Will use him again.

I attempted to find quotes for the repairs to recent damage on my own and quickly became frustrated. I found Mr. Unger on Angie's List, made an appointment, and he responded as quickly as promised. He assessed damage, made several suggestions, and then followed up with competitive quotes. He is professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy and has a great sense of humor. He performed a thorough assessment of the contracted roof replacement and had to call them back to fix a few minor errors. He made sure things were clean and back to normal condition when all work was complete. There were things I would not have recognized and suspect that might not have been corrected as quickly if I had been handling the project on my own. This is not to say I was unhappy with our roofing company, I am just very grateful for all of Mr. Unger's expertise, hard work, and attention to detail. I appreciate his honesty, desire to go the extra mile for the client, and also his candor when discussing requested repairs or updates that were not cost effective. His work, knowledge, and experience as a repairman/contractor are far above and beyond satisfactory. I will continue to call Mr. Unger for all repairs and remodeling projects. I highly recommend him.

I had a pretty cool and seamless experience with them; I did not have a whole lot of problems. They just worked pretty well. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

As usual, when working with J.C. Unger, everything went very well. He was quick to give me an estimate. I agreed to the price and he ordered the windows. As soon as they came in, he and his father took out the old windows and put in the new ones. The windows had to be ordered and his measurements were perfect. The work was done on time and he was careful to patch up the paint that needed it. He is always neat and considerate and a pleasure to have around. The large living room window came from the factory with a chip at the very top which could not be seen. This chip developed into a large crack. J. C, immediately contacted the manufacturer and worked with them to replace the window which was done shortly. The day that the window was replaced, J.C. came by to make sure it was going well and to help if need be. You can always count on J.C. Unger.

JC arrived at the appointed time, diagnosed the problem with the latch on the door, and repaired it all with in a short period of time.

I found JC on Angie's List. He came and looked at the work and gave an estimate. We set a time and he came at the specified time and finished when he thought he would. I appreciate his ability to determine what is needed and what he can and cannot do. We will hire him again for sure. Very nice and professional. knowledgeable.

The job went well, it did take a little longer than the estimated time but it was also extra work to make both doors fit. Very happy with the finished project

He was thinking outside the box. He asked me questions. He was very helpful and tried to find out what could have caused damage to my roof. He was thorough. I would use him in the future.

We phoned him in September and arranged to meet at the house we were purchasing to discuss the project and get an estimate. A Realtor had to let us in since the house was not yet closed. He surveyed the project, took measurements, discussed options and then sent us a bid. We accepted and gave him a deposit. We agreed that he would do the work after closing while we were out of state for a week. Since we were away, we did not witness any work ourselves but the end result was great. We met after we returned and were extremely pleased with the result. We paid the balance of the bill at that time. We discussed several things he had noticed about the house which may result in future work. He is a very meticulous and thorough contractor.
