It went very well. They were good to work with. They were professional. They cleaned up when they finished. One person came to take measurements. They arranged for a gas line to be put in. A different person came to do the installation.

They came out really quickly, and we thought we were going to have to have a part replaced in our pellet stove, and the augur was not feeding the pellets into it. We had him look at that as well. He figured out a way to fix it instead of the more expensive part. He was so honest and it was really awesome. They were here on time, exactly when they said they would be here. He was great.

The job went smoothly. Dan and helper were punctual and efficient. They did the installation work and answered all my questions about the installation. They were careful in my house while doing the work. Midgeley's acquired the building permit from the city as part of the installation package, which was helpful and expedient for me. They were professional from start to finish and I appreciate that.

I called on Monday January 14th and set the appt. for Friday the 18th. Midgely's gave me a two hour window when the the inspector would show up. I explaineed that becuse of my job, I can't just wait for two hours waiting for him to show. They offered to call me 15 minutes before his arrival in that two hour window. This worked out very well. Dan inspected from the roof down. He added some sealant on the chimney where the flue exited. He said it wasn't a bad seal but it could use little more around one edge. Dan disaasembled the pellet stove, inspected all port and mechanisms. He then startedf up the stove to make sure everything was workning properly. The blower wasn't coming on when it should. He found a and quot;snap discand quot; that didn't seem to be operating properly. I don't know what a snap disc is but it apparently turns on the blower when the stove reaches some predetermined temperature. He spent about 45 minutes to an hour working on this. When it was fixed he tested the stove one more time. Everything worked fine. He offered advice as to cleaning intervals and which brands of pellets to use. Despite the extra work he performed, I was still only charged the quoted price to inspect. I offerd a tip at the end which he also refused.

I learned a lot about my fireplace when Dan was here (we had just moved in). When I finally had a fire months later, there was a problem with the smoke coming down the unused chimney. I called Dan to ask for advice. He came over and gave us an estimate to fix the problem. He also put on a temporary cover for free! That was super awesome.

picJim came to our home from Midgleys and gave us an estimate on replacing our fireplace. He took pictures, measured, researched and found a fireplace to replace our old one. He came out again and reinspected after we had taken the siding off the house so he could inspect and take pictures from the back of the fireplace. Jim had a whole portfolio on our measurements along with pictures. There were two gentlemen who then came out and removed the old fireplace and installed the new one. It was inspected and then the two gentlemen came back out and put the siding back up on the house and it was inspected yet again. All the personnel we were in contact with in the store and in our home were very helpful, gave us our options and were professional and friendly in every way. They go the extra step and assure us we can call if we have any problems. We were very happy with the service we received.

Great service. Addressed all my concerns. Measured opening so I new what size to buy. Advised how to DYI install.

Purchased gas inserts for two separate houses 3 years ago. Both still working great (2 different brands) Sales staff is satisfactory but the service guys are top-notch. We pay to have them come out and clean and service the inserts annually and the guy is one of the most affable and efficient service reps I've ever met. Little pricey but worth it.

It was pretty good and it works although the switch broke regularly once a year. They wanted to come and do a full clean out every year which I didn't think was necessary. They also encouraged us to leave the gas pilot light on year round which we don't do. Their technician was good about showing me how to turn it back on and do it safely. I was pretty satisfied although the surround is kind of chintzy; it is just the model. There is a difference between their technicians and their goods. The price was kind of expensive. Their work was good. They were very responsive.

Midgley's technicians were very proficient and quickly installed the gas line and unit.

He came out to do the work and he was gone after that. He was 500 dollars cheaper than my first quote. They took care of me, they were really good.

I was so pleased and relieved to have found Midgleys! Several other chimney-repair businesses (as listed in the telephone book) that I talked to declined to even give estimates after learning of the poor condition of the chimney and the need for scaffolding. The only one,other than Midgleys, that did was very nice and "guessed" he could do it but it would cost over $4,000.00. Yikes! Midgleys came to my rescue. All their office staff and mason Dan Brown with his helpers were completely professional and completed the job in one long day. The scaffolding company was good too. It was a pleasure to do business with both and if I ever need this kind of help again I will call them and only them.

We have correspondence from Midgleys in which they reference "debating until the cows come home." This is just one example of the continued unprofessional conduct we get from Midgleys. We requested they make a more reasonable offer to resolve this issue which they have refused to do. In early 2010, the igniter again went out in our stove. We contacted another Harman dealer to perform the repairs with the part still under warranty because we NEVER want Midgleys in our home again. Midgleys refused to give the other dealer the warranty part unless we paid for it up front (which we did). That was in Feb. 2010. To date, Midgleys has not refunded our money for the part which they indicated they would do once they received reimbursement from the manufacturer, Harman. Do not rely on anything Midgleys tells you. We did and we are very sorry. Midgleys is a very unprofessional and uncaring company with which to do business. I have gotten the impression on several occasions that they dislike dealing with women - that they have a good old boys club attitude chocked full of gender bias. This has been a most unpleasant and costly experience. Midgleys continues to harrass us months after the dispute by refusing to provide a warranty part without payment up front and then failing to reimburse us in a timely manner. They have NEVER compensated us for the damage to our floor. We believe we have not only been cheated, but treated unfairly and with the utmost disrespect by Midgleys. They seem really nice when you first meet them. Watch out!

I heat my home with a pellet stove and a wood stove and they handle service, sales and installation for that type of equipment. They came out and took care of our problem as fast and courteous as can be. Because it was a warranty issue I did not have a pay for the work. I give them A’s all down the line.
