We got an appointment right away, which was nice. I did tell her on the phone that we had a high vaulted ceiling for the ceiling fan replacement. But she didn't relay that information, so he didn't come with a ladder long enough for that job. He did what he could that day, and came back the following Monday. This time we didn't have the proper adapter for the steep slope of our ceiling for the ceiling fans to fit. So another trip was necessary, but all was taken care of on the 3rd trip and we are very happy with all that was done.
Description of Work: We had a bathroom fan repaired, it now works great. We had 2 outdoor lights and an outdoor motion light replaced, they now work and look great. We had a light replaced in our staircase ceiling, it required a special ladder, so required a second trip. And we had 2 ceiling fans replaced in our great room which has a very steep vaulted ceiling, it proved to be a challenge, but it its done and they look great!! It took 3 trips to get these jobs done, but they look great and work great.

It went well overall. Both fans work really well, and the new one is wonderfully quiet. He also cleaned up the debris effectively. To top it all off, he was friendly and personable and took the time to warn us when the noise might bother our baby.
Description of Work: Bob came out and installed one bathroom exhaust fan and fixed another. Initially, we thought he'd have to replace the old fan, but he found that it was cheaper/quicker/easier just to replace the motor instead of replacing the entire fan.

Came within 15 minutes of calling for an appointment. Determined problem immediately. (Gas pilot light was out). Relit the pilot light and inspected condition of water heater. He gave critical and much needed advise on how to maintain the water heater and to protentially prevent a dangerous problem in the future. He was extremely professional, easy to work with and answered questions on maintaining gas water heater.
Description of Work: Pilot light was out on Gas Water heater. Fixed the problem in a few minutes. Would definitely use again, and would definitely recommend him to others. Very professional.

Bob came over and gave us an estimate for service, which was significantly lower than the price quoted by another company in the area. Based on the pricing and the fact I enjoyed interacting with Bob, we decided to go with DP Electric. When the fans came in, Charlie came over to start the install. Charlie was wonderful. He took care of making sure things were not damaged, cleaned up after the work was done so on and so forth. Unfortunately, the manufacturer sent the wrong fans in the right box (if that makes sense!) and two of the fans could not be replaced on the first visit. Once the correct fans came in, Bob got to come over and install them. Again, very much enjoyed him as a person and I can say that all the fans are working wonderfully. No more condensation on the walls reminding me I need to wash them!! We appreciated their work so much that my mother-in-law will is getting an estimate for work at her house too.
Description of Work: The ceiling fans in all our bathrooms were dying. All the fans were replaced/repaired.

We've been very happy with their work. I will continue to call them first for any electrical works in the future.
Description of Work: We have used an electrician from Doug Palmer Electric LLC a couple of times in the last two or three years. He was here about a year ago to do some electrical work in kitchen, an oven vent that we put in. We had him about a year before that, and we paid him a couple of thousand dollars where he put in a brand new panel box and corrected somethings that were kind of shakily done. This is a house that's over 60 years old. He put in some new outlets that grounded where the original outlets were not grounded. We also had some electrical run outside to the back deck where he had to pull some of the deck up and run stuff under the deck. So, it was pretty elaborate.

We were pleased with DP's quick response and scheduling of appt to check on a blown-out thermostat on our electric radiant-heated floor system. The electrician was prompt and friendly, but did nothing more than say the electric grid was still functioning (we already knew this from using our own volt meter), and to advise us to find another thermostat online. We assumed any charges for this visit would be applied to a bill for actually doing the hook-up once we received our new thermostat. Instead, we were charged $75.00 for what we felt was no service at all!!While we realize that this is (generally) a standard practice - issuing a base charge for travel/appt no matter what,- we will opt to use Reynolds Electric from now on, as they at least split that base charge with the customer when no work is performed.
Description of Work: Electrician used a volt meter to determine what we already knew,- that the electric grid of our radiant floor system was OK. He did not have a new thermostat on hand, or any info about one,- just told us to order a new thermostat online, and left.

Install went well. There was a problem installing standard plugs (major header in the way) so put in power strips instead. Work went well in a reasonable amount of time. The only quibble I have is that the bill arrived with no detail on parts, just a number. I asked for a break out, but have not received as of this date.

The people there are very nice. I spoke to little Allen, and he was able to give me some very definite feedback as to what I might be looking at price was to get certain things done. He was very helpful. The only problem that I had was that there was one area in the living room where he misunderstood me. There was a Japanese paper lantern which was connected to the living room. He put a box in there but no cord was attached to anything. It was not finished. It was the living room light and it was not connected. I took help from somebody else to fix it. I also had to purchase something else. To begin with he should have told me about it.

When the heater stopped functioning, I was able to restart it by flicking the switch in the main circuit breaker. I explained this to Bob Ford who removed the heater, cleaned it, checked the main circuit breaker and reinstalled the heater. The heater stopped working within 2 days. Bob returned, diagnosed a problem in the breaker within the space heater, and the heater had to be replaced. He had to call several companies to find one that would fit the larger space under the sink. He charged me only for the first trouble shooting call, and on the second visit charged only for the heater. He came on time, was professional, cleaned up after himself, explained what he was doing, answered my questions. I would certainly hire him again.

Electrician was called to replace burnt plug and loose wall plugin. We discussed my need for a more efficient system than the electric ceiling heat, which was shut off in two rooms. Electrician described various heat sources, including the small wall heaters. I requested installation in three rooms and changing the thermostats to digital models. The following Monday, the electrician arrived promptly and installed all three heaters. They are working very satisfactorily, and I have seen a reduction in the amount of electricity used this last month. I failed to ask for a written estimate, so was somewhat shocked at the bill. However, I am very satisfied with the service provided by the electrician and dp Electric. When I contacted the company about the bill, they provided me with a detailed summary and agreed to let me split the bill into two payments. The electrician did an excellent job and cleaned all the installation areas. I am ver satisfied with the work and the service provided.

They were prompt getting out here and they stuck with their quote. They lowered the price for a part of the work because another company?s estimate was lower than theirs. The people who came were fine and helpful. The workers cleaned up and they did what they were supposed to do. They came back and corrected something which wasn?t done right. They also explained things to me.

Alan was the electrician that came out. He was extraordinarily competent and efficient. He also was willing to do whatever it took to get the job done correctly. That included everything from drilling holes in the garage wall to mounting wiring on the roof, to digging a deep trench in the hardest clay soil imaginable. He was always willing to answer questions, explain options and accomodate whatever I wanted.
Description of Work: They installed new 200 AMP electrical service. The two old circuit breaker boxes were replaced with a new box outside. In the back yard was a goldfish pond with overhead cables drooping from one tree to another then down to an electric fence and the pond filter. It was a homemade job that would never pass inspection. They collaborated with workers installing a sewer line to lower the cost of laying underground cable and then finished the job themselves so that all wiring was underground and was brought up to code. Additionally they performed a number of jobs within the house. They replaced light fixtures in the bath and dining rooms, fixed plugs that were not properly switched, repaired wiring in the kitchen, added plugs and circuitry for a microwave and for a dishwasher.

The work took 3 full days (they estimated 3-4). The electrician (Alan) was prompt, courteous, friendly, and did not leave a mess. He explained things well when we had to consult during the job. Bob Ford, the owner, was very helpful and responsive to our questions as we were deciding on the work we wanted done. The cost came in under estimate.
Description of Work: We have an older house with many ungrounded circuits. They replaced the electrical panel, added circuits and new receptacles, installed a ceiling light where there had not been one, ran electricity to a deck (had to pull up deck boards, but when they were done we could not see where the deck had been disturbed), encased washer and dryer cables in the basement, and corrected an open splice under the house.

My husband found a hot 220 wire unconnected to any receptacle! We called Palmer Electric to come fix this problem, look for any others and perform some installation of lights and outlets.
