On the Angie's List website, I requested 3 estimates from highly rated electricians. Doug Palmer Electric responded within several hours. (One of two who responded.) The representative on the phone was friendly and helpful. As it was the only heater for my apartment, I felt they tried to schedule me as quickly as they could. The electrician who did the work was friendly and courteous and performed the work quickly.

Great. Guys arrived on time and made the repair. Older house so sometimes the repairs require a little ingenuity. Was relieved that the repair went smoothly.

They did an excellent job. Two electricians showed up on time, were friendly, listened to what exactly I wanted, asked clarifying questions and successfully finished the project. Palmer Electric was efficient and profession from estimate, to scheduling to installation. I would highly recommend.

Have used Doug Palmer Electrical for 10 years for different occasions. Have been happy with thire services until the last time when we needed house inspection and electrical services. Requested for house inspection service due to the previous good experiences with them. Even thought agent suggested another house inspection service. Everything went fine except a hole in the jacuzzi tub was missed. We understand a person may not be able to see everything 100% of time. So we did not say anything, just to find a contractor to fix it. The house needed electrical service because some of the lights could not be turned on and the creston audio system was not working. Also some bulbs on the high ceiling need to be replaced. I requested service on Sat because that was the only time I was available and the wife did not understand the electrical/audio stuff well. Was told it was going to be 1.5Xnormal rate. I was fine with that as long as the problem was taking care of. Showed the tech where the problem were for about 10 minutes. Pictures were taken. Was told that they had specialist to take care of the audio stuff and would come for the service another time and he would pass on the info to whoever was going to do the service. Nothing was done that day. Ok, the day came. My wife called that the tech said: "I am here to repair the audio". Had to break off my work to explain to the tech where the problems were. Got a call form the tech some time later that he was able to turn some of the lights on and was able to replace the light bulbs on the high ceiling. But he could not fix the other lights and the creston audio system because it was beyond his ability. So I had two major problems with the whole process. I paid 1.5X rate to have service done on Sat because that was the only time I was available. But no service was done and the info was not passed on to the next tech who came to do the service. When the next tech came to do the service, he was able to turn on some of the lights and replaced the bulbs on the high ceiling. The other lights and creston audio system were beyond his ability. Only small part of my problems were solved. Got the bill. No details of the servics or hours. Only the number. Did I pay the full bill? Yes, I did. Am I happy with the service? No, I am not. Will I use their service again? No.

Perfect...very professional and punctual. Did not waste time fiddling, got right to the project, explained what they had to do and cleaned up!!!! Would most definitely recommend and hire again.

Great! They assessed the job, worked on the wiring, installed and checked the timer. Took about an hour. Very courteous! I am pleased. Cost was about $90. Entry to my home is again safer and welcoming. Thanks so much.

Arrived on time. Prepared the areas to minimize any mess. Was prompt, professional, and friendly. Start to finish was exactly 2 hours which I found very reasonable. Only reason that I didn't give a rating on price is because I haven't received a bill yet.

The work that I contracted to be done was done in a satisfactory fashion. The technicians were on time, friendly and professional. The problem we experienced was with the bid for the work. After our initial visit from the estimator, who was very friendly, we waited quite a while for an actual estimate. When finally received, it was a flat price bid, rather than an hourly bid. Rather than go into a long explanation of our issue, I will just caution potential customers to get full clarification on what is the actual final bid price. The bid we received had a base price and a "bid price" which, based on my previous extensive experience with contractors, I assumed to be the bid price for all work performed. (I later showed the estimate to 3 colleagues, one a former contractor, and they assumed the same thing). I received a very big shock when I received the final invoice. The "bid price" was for the installation of the fans alone and the rest of the work was listed as "base", If that had been clear, I would never have accepted this bid. The price for installing three ceiling fans was higher than all of the other work combined. ( The owner revised the final invoice to a more reasonable charge, but it was still more than I would have ever initially agreed to pay for the installation of ceiling fans, especially since the wiring already existed and my husband assembled the fans. Make sure you understand what hourly rate the estimate is based on and how many hours they are estimating, even if there is a flat bid rate and get a TOTAL price in writing.

Our Tech Michael was TIMELY , PROFESSIONAL , KNOWLEDGEABLE, FRIENDLY , INFORMATIVE , and COURTEOUS . Job was done exceptional on our 1970s house. Tracy Payne was very professional ,and again informative , knowledgeable on giving us our estimate before hiring DP Electric . We will be doing Business again with them in the future . Customer Service was wonderful , pricing was reasonable ,and no hassle . Free estimate and coming in under our budget was a PLUS .

I was very happy with the service and results. I was able to schedule the appointment within a reasonable time frame and received a confirmation call the day before the appointment and when the technician was enroute. The work was completed within 2 hours and he hauled off the old lights. The charge was reasonable and met my expectations. The actual cost was less than what I've listed here because of the Angie's List coupon.
