Description of Work: Had an good talk with Nick Williams ahead; she came within 48hours, reviewed the situation, gave us a preliminary bid, then followed by email with a quotation. He had to fit us into his busy schedule, but did so cheerfully. The work was completed as estimated [replacing a drip line] and he followed up with an offer to monitor the work throughout the summer. We were very pleased by the quality of the work .

I know that their efforts gave the front of our house that curb appeal that we needed to attract buyers. My real estate agent was very happy with the results. I again thank Nick Williams for setting up a situation that would work for me on such a grand scale and be affordable. I would be happy to refer Nick, Alfredo and Cutting Edge to anyone needing this type of work.
Description of Work: My wife had made several calls through Angie's List to find Landscapers in the Eugene Or. area. We are not from Eugene but have property there and needed help with achieving curb appeal for the house we are selling. I was so happy that she found two of what I think may be the best landscape businesses in Eugene. One of them being Cutting Edge Landscape & Design owned by Nick Williams. Nick came by to give me an estimate on work that I needed done. While taking a look at our property I explained to him that I needed something simple and within my budget since we were selling the house. What I appreciated most was how Nick was able to be so frank and honest about what he thought would be the best situation for me. No hard sale to create work, but just an honest evaluation of what I needed. I was very impressed to meet someone with that kind of integrity and honesty. Nick set me up with one of his top gardeners Alfredo. Alfredo showed up with Pat and proceeded to transform our front yard. They worked for two days pulling grass and turning all the soil in the beds and then going and getting yards of redwood bark to cover mulch all the open areas in the beds. They took out all the dead and unnecessary plants and replanted areas with ferns and rhododendrons that were neglected in the back yard. They also power washed all the moss off of the walkways, driveway and hard scape blocks on the terraced parts of the front beds. Then at completion hauled away all the debris from the clean up. There work and work ethic was totally professional and their instincts on how to make things look great was very natural. It got to the point to where my neighbors were slowing down as they drove by and giving Alfredo and Pat the thumbs up.

+ -1 moreThe owners, Nick and Justin, are professionals in their field. I found them to be friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and fair. I had flooding issues and they responded right away. The crew arrived as scheduled and worked steadily until the job was completed. (a four day period) The owners and crew supervisor addressed all my questions and concerns. The work is such that you can't tell where the sump pumps are buried. The landscape is restored exactly as it was, actually, even better. They did a great job on the driveway, too. It's now flat and easy to maintain. Again, you would never know there had been a trench down the full length of it. Finally, they didn't consider any job done until I was completely happy.....which I am! Great job, guys! Thanks. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: They installed two sump pumps, one in front and the other in back. It was divided into two jobs because, due to the flooding locations, they each needed a separate line out to the street. They also connected three gutter downspouts to underground pipes that tied into one of the lines going out to the street. In addition, they re-graveled a long driveway, hauling away the old gravel, leveling and then putting down landscaping fabric underneath the new gravel. They also went above and beyond by offering to finish a section of my fence that another contractor had simply abandoned. It's such a relief to finally have my fence back!

Also, I see their trucks around town, and have driven by their business in West Eugene and have been impressed. They present themselves very professionally, and obviously back up their branding with great customer service!

Description of Work: Cutting Edge is starting to make repairs and renovate another Landscaper's mess up. It has to be done is sections because the other Landscaper did so much damage to my concrete patio, planters and irrigation and lawn, I'm having to have everything redone. + 0 moreI had 5-6 bids. I was impressed by their professionalism and willingness to work with us and accommodate our wishes. They were punctual and completed the job in several days. We were unable to get the wires into the garage at the time so they came back and finished the job once we had the wires where we wanted them. They will return to finish planting the lawn in the spring, since it was too late in the year to plant the lawn. I would highly recommend this company.

+ 0 moreI contacted this Cutting Edge in May. They came right out and gave me a very good price to level the yard and put in grass and bark. They told me that if I waited until the end of season, that they would be able to give be a better deal in order to keep their guys working. I agreed, since as I told them I wanted to get the yard ready so I could list my house for sale in January or February I wasn't in any real hurry. Well, come September, I started calling and E-mailing to get a start date. After a couple of weeks, got an E-mail from them stating that I was at the top of their list and they would call me in a couple of day to give me a start date. Never heard back from them. October rolls around, and I again start calling and E-mailing again, and finally got an E-mail from them stating that they would start the job on Wednesday November 11th. Today is December 1st and Rexius started the job yesterday and expects to be done on the 3rd. Cutting Edge is still a no call / no show. I wouldn't advise anyone to even consider them for anything

+ 1 moreI had two sweetgum trees in my curb area that were causing extensive damage to the yard, sidewalk, curb, water meter, etc. For a number of years the city wouldn't allow them to be removed, but they got some sort of blight and finally the city took them out. Basically the front yard was so thick with roots that it was difficult to even maintain the small lawn. (It was hard even to mow the front - I actually had to get one of those mowers with the big rear wheels.) Cutting Edge came in and completely tore all of that root material out. It was a huge job. We had hoped to save some of the sidewalk but the roots that were running under it were 10 inches in diameter and had raised the slabs as much as 5" in some places, so we had to demo and re-poor the sidewalk as well. Once all of the roots had been removed, they had to reconstruct the drainage, add the sprinkler system, and re-sculpt and sod the lawn. While all of this was going on, they took care of the projects in the back yard as well. They arrived on time and worked through the job without interruption. The quality of the work was great. The price for the original work came in very close to the bid. When I get ready to add the sprinkler system zones in the back I will contact them to do it.
Description of Work: Front yard: Demo'd and rebuilt front lawn and curb area to repair extensive root damage caused by two large sweetgum trees that the city removed. - Excavated 1500 to 2000 lbs of roots (one large dumpster + half of another one). - Removed one large juniper. - Demo'd the damaged sidewalk and prepped and supervised the re-poor. - Repaired the damaged curb. - Replaced the downspout drainage line out to the street. - Installed a sprinkler system in the front (2 zones). - Applied top soil, grading, and sod. - Added landscape plant and rock features in the curb area. - Applied bark in the flower beds. Back Yard: - Excavated and removed 4" of dirt and bark along the entire side of the house and replaced with gravel and a border. - Trenched in and ran the line from the sprinkler system to the back, so that it can be extended to the back yard later. - Aerated the back yard and removed the plugs. - Barked the flower beds. Cleaned everything up very well.
