Nick & Justin, owners of Cutting Edge Landscape & Design are two of the most honest businessmen I've encountered in my professional career. Their work is impeccable and one need look no further than the landscape installation they've provided to Shadow Hills Country Club. What a wonderful job around the new clubhouse and wedding venue area! They are also, what I would describe as, a HUGE success story for our area. They have grown their small business to a level of success that is rarely seen these days. All crew members were professional, courteous, respectful of property, and very responsive. When discrepancy came up, the company was quick to adjust and resolve our concerns. Nick and Justin are easy to work with, honest, and run a company of integrity. They were patient and flexible as we changed our landscape plan several times throughout the process. This company truly cares about their customers.. We would definitely hire them again.

They were excellent. They were very good at what they did. They were very good in the design. The project was done in about 3 days. It was reasonable for what they did.

I was sent pictures of suggested planting scheme and photos of the recommended plants. In addition, it was suggested I have river rock between plantings and two large boulders for punch. I liked the design, but not all the plant suggestions. So, the owner met me at the nursery and we chose the focal point tree, and replacement plants I liked better. He was helpful, knowledgeable and patient with this non-green thumb customer. His crew prepped and planted in one long day (including putting in several tons of river rock). In progress he suggested an expansion of the rock for aesthetics and I agreed (at no extra cost!). My only quibble was the timing of the project. I waited until Nov. to start this project and the year end holidays resulted in delays (nursery closed, and plants needing to be ordered). It happened later than anticipated, but the final result was wonderful.

Cutting Edge was great to work with from beginning to end. We went in with a budget and asked them to design the project that fit into that budget. We were looking for something that was kid and dog friendly and low maintenance in the back and presented nice curb appeal in the front. They removed the old yard, numerous bushes and trees and leveled the back yard for the project. Cutting Edge's workers hauled in loads of rock, worked fast and did a great job. They tweaked the plans when ever we presented them with some thoughts as the work progressed. They turfed a play area portion of the back yard and then took the leftover scraps and installed turf areas around "dog peaks" in our fence that allow our dogs to lay on turf as opposed to mud, dirt and grass. A bulk of the landscaping was rock (both big river rock and smaller rock), but they installed a level crushed gravel area for the garbage cans to sit on and look nice. At the completion of the project we liked it so much we asked them to add a similar area for the BBQ to get it out of the walkway. Despite running overtime on the project, they gladly added the BBQ landing at the last second. The front yard is a more traditional grass/plant landscape with some nice "path rocks" that they threw in at the last second. The front view of our house went from slightly embarrassing to looks d*** good! We started the process with Nick coming out to bid the project and give us some ideas on what he thought would look good. His insights gave us a pretty good feeling of what the end result would be and he pretty much nailed it. Justin took over when the work started and was great to work with when we needed to bounce ideas or thoughts off someone. His workers were prompt, courteous and hard working. They cleaned up after leaving each day and left everything perfect when the project was done. I highly recommend Cutting Edge if you have a landscaping project that needs to be done.

Nick, Justin, and their team did excellent work. The team was punctual and professional, and Nick and Justin were friendly with good suggestions for the project. They worked efficiently, were considerate of driveway access around the equipment they used, and left a clean job site at the end of each day. The excavation and wall installation were done exactly as promised, and on budget. As part of the excavation, Justin was able to even out the previously roughly-tiered slope behind the wall. And he was flexible in doing some additional leveling work to give us more usable space. One design request initially didn't make it to the on-site team; once Nick & Justin learned of it, they immediately sent out a guy to complete that request. I marked responsiveness at a B because their high volume of work means you'll likely need to plan well in advance or be OK with a delayed start. When Nick gave me the quote in mid-May, he alerted me that they had a substantial queue and didn't expect to get to our project until early August. They actually got on site in late September. My schedule was not time-sensitive and I pinged Nick a few times to get updated estimates. Nick's voicemail will warn you about high call volumes and delayed response--absolutely true, but they will get back to you. It was worth the wait and my wife and I are very satisfied with the result. The wall is clean, level, professional, and blends in perfectly with the existing work. We will certainly look to Nick & Justin for future landscaping projects--they have a genuine interest in getting the work done well & right.

Nick is a real professional with a can do attitude. We really like and trust him. He has made multiple trips to our house working to solve a problems with our irrigation system.

Workers moved efficiently and cleanly. Nice selection of plants that allowed for some supplemental annual plantings. Much better balanced look, and more finished look to yards. Dealing w/Nick was so easy and pleasant, and he was very willing to work with me to fit my budget and desired look. I felt as though I got a lot for my dollar and definitely plan to work with him again to do some patio work and fountain work. I would absolutely recommend Cutting Edge Landscape to anyone with large or small budgets.

I always like when a company recommends someone else if they're not able to do the work. Cutting Edge gave me advice on what I should look for to get the work I needed done and further recommended someone who they thought would do a good job. I was very impressed with the service even though they ended up not being available to do the work.

My husband and I could not have been more appreciative or pleased. Cutting Edge Landscape SAVED our property. My tenants notified me that the carpet in the lower portion of my property was wet. I took off work that day to go to Eugene and assess the situation. Within an hour I realized I was in over my head - the crawl space under my property was completely flooded and my sump pump underneath the sub-floor was dead in the water, literally. Based on recommendations in Angie's list I called Cutting Edge Landscape. Nick came over wtihin an hours time to assess the situation at my property which was literally flooding at that moment due to the rapid snow/ice melt the days before. While his team already had a number of jobs underway that day - other properties were experiencing similar issues - Nick made sure a mitigation plan was defined and implemented that afternoon. Cutting Edge Landscape installed a temporary PVC 1 inch pipe from the back of my property to the city sewer tied into a temporarily installation of their recommended sump pump to begin pumping out the few feet of water that was standing underneath my property. What a relief! Cutting Edge Landscape monitored water removal progress daily which was extremely reassuring and appreciative as I live an hours drive from Eugene. I was able to call them/Nick each day and get a report on progress as well as discuss next steps. In the end this rapid response and attentiveness was HUGE; my property could easily have gotten worse but thanks to Cutting Edge's responsiveness and engagement the worse case was avoided. The longer term solution was implemented in subsequent weeks by Cutting Edge Landscape. First Nick of Cutting Edge Landscape provided three different scope/cost options that would ensure that flooding would not occur in the future as well as give me basic to more holistic approaches. Nick factored in our input on sump pump models as well as yard design consideration. Since this is a secondary property it was important to me to take prudent but effective actions. Nick factored in these constraints to ensure I had an option that met my longer term needs and my budget constraints. In the end I opted for the second of three options. Nick also recommended a local contractor to me who could address the interior damage that my property had sustained. I was very pleased with that vendor as well. The landscaping work was done within a weeks time and met all of my expectations and more. Nick and team removed tree debris for free which was beyond the job scope but very much appreciated by myself and the tenants. Cutting Edge Landscape will be doing annual maintenance on my property and sump pump going forward. Most of all I appreciated the professionalism and respect I received as a customer. I felt heard, listened to and accommodated. Nick factored in all my input and helped me not to panic as we moved through this challenging situation. My husband was out of town for only 3 days and I wanted to surprise by getting the yard weeded and looking good before he got back. I was overwhelmed because we had let it go too long. Nick came by and had a gentleman weeding my yard in no time! He stayed busy for several hours, worked very hard and stayed within budget. My husband was super happy the quality of work. Thanks guys.

Nick at Cutting Edge Landscape reviewed my back and side yards and recommended a combination of sprinkler heads for the lawn, drip nozzles for the shrubs/trees and drip hoses for inside the garden beds. I liked this idea better than another recommendation & quote I had previously rec'd. They installed a new connector box, pipes and hoses in November 2013 and came back in late May 2014 to program the existing controller which is a complex computerized Rain Bird water-saver brand previously installed for the front yard by another company. It is not a brand he installs in new systems and he was unfamiliar with it. I wanted to keep the existing controller as it was only 3-4 years old. So he located the local Rain Bird company and found that a representative from the Portland office would be in town soon. He made an appointment and they came out to re-program the controller. I appreciate this extra effort to get the job done right.

Nick and his crew were prompt and professional. Very quick response to my request for an estimate. Work done was as listed on the estimate and done very well. I am very happy with the results!!

The Yard is Beautiful. Nick and the team are professional, friendly and efficient. The cleaned up all the mess including grading my gravel driveway that they tunneled through to put in the drainage pipe. The work was done in October. Since then we had Cutting edge come out and perform an early spring clean up of mowing and debris removal from winter storms. We also had a couple of the new plants that did not survive the winter. Cutting edge came out and promptly replaced the plants with new ones - no charge - no problems. Our yard was 25 years old and the plants and bushes were overgrown and a little tired. Now we have a fresh new look with a beautiful riverbed running through the yard and the wet side of the yard now drains safely away. Of all the remodeling we have done to our house, this was by far the biggest bang for the buck.

It went well. Nick did the consulting. When the workers left the site it was not to our total satisfaction, Nick promptly corrected it. It looked great. Nick is very professional and knowledgable.

Nick was friendly and professional. He has showed me how to do a lot of the work myself so I will save a ton of money in the future. This is my first underground sprinkler system and there has been a lot to learn but I feel confident that I can take care of most of it. If I need more help I will call Nick at Cutting Edge first thing.

Nick responded to my phone message the same day and showed up promptly for our appointment the following day. He greeted me warmly yet professionally and put me instantly at ease during our discussion. Nick listened thoroughly to my ideas and also gave me some ideas to contemplate although I never felt pressured to do what he offered. His enthusiasm was evident. He provided me separate quotes for the two idea designs that we had discussed. The cost was affordable and more than fair. Both Nick and his company partner Justin arrived along with their two crewmen right on time the first day of my project. We once again discussed the details to assure we were all on the same page. The crew started promptly after our discussion and worked nonstop except for a brief lunch. I was present while all the work was done and was quite pleased that they worked diligently to assure that I was pleased with the layout of the boulders. The crew frequently checked in with me as the project unfolded. The project took about a half day longer than expected but only because the crew were so enthusiastic about making sure the job was done "just right". It was very much a pleasure to work with them and I am looking forward to having them work on phase II with me!!

For all the time that we had lived in our house, our back yard was not very useable and was mostly ignored. The side going to the street consisted of a steep, short hillside ending in a 50-year old wall made of railroad ties. We contacted Cutting Edge Landscape after we had finished a room addition and the backyard had become a sea of mud with very poor drainage. The owners, Justin and Nick, were quite enthusiastic about the project, provided some excellent design concepts, and were more then willing to work with us to incorporate our ideas into the project. We wanted the side terraced for planting and the old railroad tie wall replaced with something that look good -- we did NOT want the standard, pre-cast concrete block wall. Nick and Justin suggested two walls made of large rocks. The way that they placed these rocks -- boulders really, some well over 1,000 pounds -- to form a massive retaining wall at the bottom with a second, smaller one holding up the second terrace was just amazing. They also laid out paths of decomposed granite as we wanted, added drainage, several smaller walls, and planted the final landscaping. All of Cutting Edge's workers were polite and good at their jobs. All in all, we were extremely pleased with the end result and will be using them for future projects.

They were professional but I found that they were a lot more expensive than the company I am going to use. The guy definitely knew what he was talking about. He quoted me $2400 for the landscaping work. He was on time.

On time on budget. Great work. Nice people.

They did an excellent job. Their price was reasonable. The cost depended upon what you have done and how big your yard is and all that. They're very good. Communication has been a problem at that time.

This is a great company. Nick, one of the owners, was just terrific to work with. He was polite, professional an had a lot of suggestions to help me save money. His crew was punctual and extremely hard working. Never saw the guys standing around. I was surprised how fast things moved along. They finished the job in two days and cleaned up beautifully. This was a big job & I thought it would take a great deal longer. I can't say enough good things about them. A great experience & I highly recommend them.

I worked with Nick Williams at Cutting Edge and the best part of working with him was his ability to actually listen, which seems to be a dying art. I had taken some preliminary meetings with other outfits and the difference was night and day. When I spoke with Nick, I was convinced that we were on the same page about everything. He understood my budget and worked with me to keep things under control. He also understood my not having the physical ability to be a "constant gardener" type and therefore, he was able to make suggestions that reflected my particular needs. The crew was punctual and worked beautifully to get the project done to my liking. There was always consistent communication with Nick to ascertain how things needed to progress. Nick and Justin run a fabulous company. The pricing is absolutely fair and I felt I received more than my money's worth in terms of everything, especially the actual end product and the pleasantness in dealing with Nick and everyone throughout the entire project. One final kudo is that Nick has a great sense of humor and that goes a long way too. These guys are the real deal and if there was a Golden Globe for Landscaping, they'd get it every year as far as I'm concerned. They are the best.

the working crew of 4 or 5 was very efficient and professional. No time was wasted. They arrived promptly in the morning. All of the old lawn was taken away. We also had a smalled project of a drainage problem in a flower bed that they handled quickly. The new lawn already shows some growth after only 9 days of being installed.

Nick and his guys were always on time and worked long hours to get the work done as quickly as possible. It still took a few weeks because we had to wait for plants, do A LOT of re-fitting on the existing sprinkler system, including a total re-do of part of the system where we laid new sod. A lot of contractors I have worked with will knock of work at 4:00 or so, but these guys always stayed until 5 as long as there was still work to do. I am VERY happy with the design work they did and with the attention to detail along with the quality of work. We had some issues getting the old system to provide adequate coverage for the yard, and Nick came back numerous times to try to fine tune it and get it right- without an extra charge when he even had to add more sprinkler heads. I guess I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed working with them on my yard and the results I have!
