Jim was an excellent contractor, listened to us and made suggestions that improved the job. Very thorough and professional.

I called Jim based on Angie's List recommendations. Jim showed up promptly when I requested a bid, discussed the planned work with me, but best of all, asked questions, offered suggestions, and gave me choices where I thought none were available. He provided a rough verbal bid, then followed up with written proposals. Final payment was right on bid and the few flexible extras that I added were very reasonable. If you like folks who say they'll show up at a certain time and complete what they say they will do that day, Jim's your contractor. He is extremely professional and always left my home in as cleaned up a condition as possible considering a construction site. He did most of the work himself and the electrician and cabinet maker did great on-time work also. In the kitchen, Jim removed a wall oven with separate stove top and had rewired to 220 to install a range and relocated the refrigerator to a corner. This entailed removing old and redesigning/installing new cabinets and partial flooring. He installed new sink, faucets, garbage disposal, backsplash tile, and worked with countertop installers. He ensured everything was completed to his high standards, and when we had one small problem, he had it fixed the same day. The kitchen is now bright and feels 4 times larger. One bathroom was complete gutted with soffits and a wall removed, old termite damage repaired, shower relocated and rebuilt completely in a difficult limited area. The glass shower and tile work is extremely well done, making the bath open and modern. In both baths, he installed new sinks, one a vessel sink and both with waterfall faucets. These sinks and faucets presented numerous problems because wrong parts were sent and difficult to find locally. Despite the setbacks, Jim remained calm and got the sinks and faucets installed -- they look beautiful! He also expertly tiled both bathroom floors. And did I mention, all this work was completed over the year-end holidays. All 3 rooms took less than 2 months to complete. Professionalism, promptness, quality work, reasonable prices plus great ideas and creative solutions -- I would not hesitate to call Jim at AAA on any kitchen or bath remodel.

Jimmy showed up and looked at the counter job and said, "Sure." He was ready to go to work within a few days. He sanded and finished the counter and got the paint job done. As a bonus, he removed some mold from our bathroom ceiling. I think he undercharged us. When we ourselves put something too hot on the kitchen counter a few days later, he came back at his own expense and redid it for us. This time he used a different finish that is more heat resistant, although we had been the ones to choose the first finish. I called him and said, "I don't want you to work for free" and he said, "That's OK, just refer me to other people." This guy is a gem.

Great job! Jim was excellent to work with. I tend towards indecisiveness and need a visual to see the end product. Jim was very patient and took the time to explain every question I had. When I came home on a break to see the first coat of paint, I "freaked". It was no where near to what I expected. Jim patiently explained that I could take it back and have the color altered to a lighter version and he would paint the second coat with that. Jerry's was very accommodating in make the change out and the color ended up just fine. There was a problem with a change in water pressure, that still has not been resolved, but not for the lack of trying. It seems that something must have gotten lodged in the incoming water to restrict the flow. Still not sure at this time how to resolve this issue.

Jim is a very good to work with, does quality work for a fair price. I will definitely use his service again. Thanks Jim for the speedy response and job.

As usual. Great job and fair pricing. I don`t call anyone else for work at my home. He has done everything from major renovations to smaller jobs. Anything You need done. Better give him a call before He decided to retire.

There were some problems with the door, but it was supplier fault

They came and they did the work, He is professional. I felt like I could trust him. They were great.

Jim installed porcelain tile in my master bath. After he originally laid the tile he noticed 4 or 5 of them didn't match the others. He had no problem replacing those tiles, he actually insisted on it. I appreciated his punctuality and finish work.

Jim did a great job. He was very helpful with design and his workmanship is top notch.

I wanted to replace my sagging15 year old screen door with one that would last. I found Jim through Angie's list. He was very prompt, arriving the next morning. After listening to my desires/requirements, he told me what he would build - which was exactly what I wanted. He uses a fabulous woodworker - Mike. My screen door is sturdy, with a nifty catch near the bottom that prevents my cat from opening the door when I am outside. He painted it to match the trim on my house. I am totally happy with it. Then, I asked Jim if he would build units for books and television. He and Mike came, asked tons of questions, and then came up with a plan for bookcases with cupboards below and an entertainment section which extended around the corner of the room. Along the way, I wanted some changes and he and Mike tried very hard to accommodate me whenever possible. The end result is better than I ever imagined. The units were painted to match the trim throughout my house, fastened to the walls and look as if they were always part of the house. Throughout the process they were responsive, professional and personable. I thought the price was fair and the quality of work was excellent. I would absolutely hire AAA Quality Construction again.

Jim gave a reasonable bid and some very good suggestions for tile patterns, new tub and plumbing fixtures. He showed up on time every day and placed runners down in his travel path and cleaned up daily. The work was done very well, we are both very pleased with the final product. Jim even removed the tub after initial installation because when he stepped in it the next day after the grout had set under the tub he heard a squeaking noise. He brought this to our attention and spent the rest of the day removing the tub, finding the source of the squeak and the reinstalling the tub. Jim hauled off the old tub and all the debris from the demo of our shower which obviously saved us a headache. Jim was very professional and we would suggest him for remodeling and if we have any more remodeling in the future AAA Quality Construction will be at the top of our list.

We had Jimmy Trauernicht come out as we wanted to remodel the bathroom. We needed an estimate on the job. We told him at the start that we had our dream list, and then we had the minimum we needed to get done in order to make the bathroom more accessible. Basics was a new corner shower added, which would need the toilet moved over and some plumbing and tiling, etc done. Not everything on the dream list needed to be done. We told him our max budget was around $12,000. He emailed us a proposal with a quote of $15,750. It only included the total and a written description of the overall work. I called and told him that was more then we were expecting and would he please send me a detailed breakdown of the costs. He said he'd mail it. We received the hand written notes that contained estimates on materials, and estimates on subcontractors for electrical and plumbing. There was no amount for labor, nor a total of the total job, we were left to figure that figure out for ourselves from the total on the original "proposal". That didn't seem very professional to me. I called him and asked how we could reduce the costs. He didn't give me any ideas. I suggested we do part of the work ourselves. He said he "takes pride" in his work and wants to do it all to make sure its done "right". So, since he wasn't willing to work with us to try and make this happen, we knew this wasn't going to work. I was disappointed, as I liked what other reviewers said about his responsiveness and work.

Since I had such a great experience with Jim putting in a new shower in my home, I decided to give him a call when we had some water damage in the ladies' bathroom at work. We ended up remodeling the entire thing and the final product turned out even better than we'd expected. Better than the men expected, too. In fact, they were not happy with they way their bathroom looked after the ladies' was finished, so we had Jim put us in his schedule to remodel the men's room as well. They got their own mini "man cave." And now our shop guys are complaining about their bathroom... Everyone is impressed with Jim's quality of work as well as his commitment to his schedule (he actually shows up when he says he will--every time!), and I expect several individuals here in the office will contact Jim for any personal remodel or repair projects they have in the future. As a company, we will be calling Jim exclusively for all our future remodels.

He was great. He was just quick and efficient. He got the bid right back to me.

The overall result was OK but he changed things without consulting me. He installed the medicine cabinet several inches lower than the old one and told his worker to install a hand towel ring at the 5 ft level - rediculous. He scratched the paint off the wall in several places when he put up the medicine cabinet and didn't repaint. He also told me he was going to use Bear paint and then went with a cheaper brand. If I had it to do over again I'd get every last detail in writing and do a much better inspection before paying for it.,

Over all it went very well. Jim stayed pretty well within his estimate. They were professional along with being friendly. They demonstrated a true concern about the quality of the work that they were doing. It went as I hoped it would go, straight forward an on time.

Jim is an incredibly efficient and competent contractor. I started things off by buying a shower door on Craigslist that was close enough to the measurements I needed that I bought it. Being a single young woman with no carpentry experience whatsoever, that's usually not a smart move. When Jim came out to give me an estimate, he took a look at the door and took some measurements then let me know that any contractor I hired would be able to work with it. He made it clear that he would be willing to work with whatever I chose for materials for my shower, and some of the other contractors I spoke with were not. I was trying to get a high-end look on a budget, so I bought some cheap porcelain tile that turned out to be not completely square. This made for some frustrating moments for Jim and Brad when they were laying the tile, but he worked with it and it turned out great. Jim never rushed any of the steps and even worked for several hours on Christmas Eve when mounting the door to the wall proved a little difficult. He also built a wonderful bench for me exactly as I requested. Jim has been very quick to respond to follow-up emails and always comes out within 24 hours. He's been in the business long enough that I believe he could work through any challenge or problem and always turn out beautiful work. I also appreciated that he changed the valves and dealt with the plumbing himself which helped keep the cost down for me. All in all, I was very impressed with the work performed and felt comfortable with both Jim and Brad in my house. I hope they don't retire before I tackle the rest of the remodeling projects in my home because finding another contractor with the skill, personality, and willingness to deliver exactly what I want is unlikely.

Demolition took longer than expected, this was due to removing the tile floor took longer and required replacing the underflooring,which was not expected or planned. The wall that was removed was a support wall, so building the new wall required 2x6 rather than 2x4s. The background work, changing plumbing, wiring and rebuilding the base of the old tub (it was a sunken tub), they added extra support for the flooring. The flooring, painting, tiling, putting in the new vanities, countertops, plumbing all went very well. They were very meticulous in all the work they did. I would have them do other projects for me and recommend them to friends without any reservations.

Very helpful - they worked around the other people's schedule and never complained when other companies were late with their part - even though it set them back on the schedule

They were prompt, knowledgeable, thorough and very fair on their pricing.

He responded to our call on the weekend which we appreciated because we noticed some missing grout around our shower drain and were very concerned about water damage. He told us it would be okay to use it until he came back a couple days later as we were having company that weekend. He gave us a reasonable price for repairing the grout. We asked how much it would cost to re-grout the tile in the foyer bc we'd just moved in to a new house and there was missing grout. He told us he'd pop one of the tiles and see why they were shifting (also happening, we'd noticed). He actually brought his tile guy with him and began doing the work, which we were surprised by. But overall, we were happy it got done. One of the tiles got broken and we discussed pulling one from a nearby closet, but when we got home the broken tile was secured in the middle of foyer. He made that decision because he knew we had a rug there. It was a good decision but some liberties were taken with it. Again, I felt it all worked out and since we didn't know what we were doing, they made some good decisions for us.
