Deschutes Plumbing is locally owned and operated by Casey and Lacy Krahenbuhl. We believe in providing superior professional customer service, and begin by always answering the phone. Our office is staffed so you don't have to worry about getting the voice-mail of someone under a house. We follow that up by providing a 2 hour window for the arrival of our technician. We understand the urgency when water is involved, and can often accommodate an emergency by making changes in the schedule to ensure we arrive same day. Thank you for taking time to post a review on our services; we truly value all feedback. I have a saying, plumbing is like golf, there's more to it than meets the eye. I learned this after I took up the game (of golf, not plumbing!). This is especially true when it comes to a water heater installation. There is much that goes on behind the scenes that unfortunately the client does not see. It begins from the plumber waiting at the supply house while the water heater is pulled and loaded on his truck, to the drive to the clients home (in this case an hour round trip from Bend to Redmond), time on site (which of course you do see) and then the trip to drop the old water heater off at the recycling center. This is where the approximate 3 hours comes into play. Fortunately, with the Angie's List discount we were able to save you $88.! We enjoy passing on that discount in the hopes you can spend the savings on something you can actually show off; unlike a water heater! Description of Work: When I called and spoke with Laurie about a problem with our hot water, she put one of her technicians on the phone who was able to diagnose our situation and suggest a remedy that I could handle myself. Laurie even called me back to be sure that the problem was solved. Now that is terrific customer service! I will certainly call them again if I need any kind of plumbing services.

She was curt and unhelpful.
Description of Work: We called to get someone to look at our hot water heater, but because it is under the house the woman said they didn't have anyone that could get under there to look at it. I explained they would not have to crawl, just bend over a little, but she still insisted that they could not help us.

As phones are ringing off the hook right now with broken pipes and flooding emergencies I may have been quick in my explanation that we are currently in a situation of one man working with an injured foot, under doctors orders not to crawl (even taller crawl spaces have been difficult) and our remaining staff booked out the remainder of the week with emergencies due to the recent weather. As you had an immediate need I felt it the honest thing to do telling you we may not be your best option at this time and someone else may be able to get to you sooner. Our goal is to provide the best customer service possible and always maintain our integrity. As you are a repeat client I feel in the past you must have been happy, this situation is unfortunate and I wish we could have been available for you. Obviously we don't wish to turn work away, this situation warranted my suggestion of another Angie's List plumber.

There are times, due to the fixtures in the home, we are unable to make a repair without researching for parts, and in some cases the fixture is obsolete and replacement is more cost effective. In this case a new faucet was decided upon. We were there on a Thursday, and on Monday received a call from you with some confusion as to the status of the job. It was at this time we explained the plumber had been in conversation with the lady of the house and we were told she preferred to choose her own faucet, which is really best as the choices are endless. The understanding was we would be called when she had made her choice and would then move forward with the install. It appears now that the confusion remains as it is apparent you were not left happy with our services. We will call you after the holiday weekend to see if there is anything we can do, or questions we can answer, to rectify any displeasure you were left with. Warm regards, Laurie & John Woolery

Description of Work: They arrived within15 minutes of when they said they would. They reworked the drain pipe and installed a bathroom vanity as well as a faucett installation. I had some other work, but they suggested a different solution that would work and be more cost effective, so I feel they operated in my best interest. Yes I would use them again.

Description of Work: They came to fix/diagnose noises in pipes. Thought the noises were not causing a problem. Also asked them to fix a sink that would not hold water when "closed". They suggested new hardware which I paid for but then the sink did not drain properly.

While the date we were there , 6/26/2013, was over a year ago, we were happy to return and address the issue yesterday. We only wish we had been notified of the problem sooner so you did not have to live with it for the last year; that's not fun! We encourage our clients to call us immediately if our work did not 100% solve the issue. There is more to clearing a drain than meets the eye. I see we did a rather involved job for you on October 5th (broken sewer line under your house). It's situations such as this in which our plumbers receive a great deal of self gratification. They remedy a problem that is not only hazardous, but is also making life rather uncomfortable for the client due to the odor it's causing. Once the repair is made you are left with only the Juniper in our beautiful Central Oregon air to keep you company! Thank you for utilizing Angie's List, and for your comments.
