WALT'S HANDYMAN INC

We will continue to use Walts Handyman anytime we have repairs needed around our home. They are professional, thorough and fair to work with. In addition, they are nice people.

All of the above work was done on 12 foot ceilings, and most of it required two people. In addition he took down a duct cover located near the ceiling to allow me to wash it and he vacumned the duct. He painted the ceiling in the hall where he removed the flush fixture and cleaned up after himself. I would especially recommend him to fussy old ladies (that are afraid of heights) like me.

Phoned from list and emailed and obtained information. Agreed on date to perform job. (patch sheetrock damaged from frozen pipe) Very careful and precise in completing job. Cleaned up afterward.

Walt alerted me from the beginning that the job he was on might take longer than expected, so I was prepared to wait. In fact, he arrived on the day planned, promptly and ready to work. He and his partner were friendly, professional, had the right tools, and did a great job. I will be using them again for any handyman repairs I might need.

Scheduled microwave oven installation out seven days. Two days before Walt was to come do the work he telephoned and cancelled. He was doing a job that had become more involved that he had previously estimated it would be. Very frustrating for me.

He is very thorough and I like him a lot. He does various handyman works and he does a very good job.

Walt was punctual, versatile and professional (and his wife, who works with him, was very personable and a great addition to the process.) My blinds had been taken down for some work on the windows and I needed them reinstalled. The mini blinds are about 20 years old and a bit fragile, but they went up just fine! Since I needed that job done, I included 2 other jobs that had been on my wish list for quite a while. One was a ceiling fan which from the time of installation has wobbled at high speeds. He balanced it and no more wobble! The other was a gate that has become increasingly difficult to open. He diagnosed a problem with the handle and they went to Home Depot (after checking with me) and picked up a nice new handle. After installation, there is no problem with the gate and it has a nice lock feature. I was very pleased with the work.

I found Walt on Angie's List and left a message for him. He returned my call the same day and we scheduled an appointment for the following day. Walt and his wife showed up at the scheduled time in a fairly-large truck contailing his supplies and tools. Mr. and Mrs. Walt worked on the problem toilet together. As it turned out, they had the necessary replacement parts in their truck so they were able to complete the repair in fairly short order.

He was very professional and very clean. He had great personality and he did great work too. We will definitely use him again.

I was satisfied with the job but it was just one job since we live in an apartment. 99% of the work is done by the staff but we were happy with the work performed and for the one month we joined Angie's List to find that person.

The area around my chimney (the wooden box around the steel fireplace chimney) is not covered by the roof. This means the base at ground level and where the chimney meets the roof gets wet and stays wet in the winter. Over time, this led to it rotting away. Walt and Tammy replaced the t-111 siding and added an additional cedar baseboard to help protect the siding in the future. Work quality was A+, they were timely, and met all expectations.

He wasn?t inexpensive, but he was a very fine craftsman. He did a whole bunch of caulking around the sinks in my bathroom. I asked him to clean some mirrors in my bathrooms, and he did. He and his partner were great. He explained to me that the door was worth fixing since it was a mess to the master bedroom.

I would not hesitate to use him for anything. He was punctual and honest and just the kind of handyman that you would like to have.

It went great overall. Walt was very quick with providing us a bid....he e-mailed it to me the evening after he was here in the afternoon. I let him know a few days after I received the bid that I picked him to do the job and they were out the next week with new cedar planks. When I asked them to replace a few boards that weren't in the original request, they went out and purchased them and were right back to finish the job. Walt and his wife do all the work themselves and are an excellent team....very nice to deal with. I would hire them again for anything else I needed around the house.

Very nice and considerate service from both Walt and his wife Tammy. They also replaced a support timber on my porch. Straight estimates, timely service, thoughtful clean-up. Would use them again.

I called Walt and he let me know it would be a week before he could get to it, which was fine with me. He and his wife came, figured out the problem, and fixed it. They worked quickly and quietly.

As above, it went very well. I put that it came in higher than estimate, below, but that was only because he was able to do the additional work (a change order from me) while he was there.

Walt and Tammy rock. Seriously. I contacted them on a Thursday, they bid it on Friday, they came on Monday and worked pretty much non stop until 6:30 or 7:00 at night, finishing everything I asked them to do. While they were working, I came up with a laundry list of other things I needed done. They were busy the next day but came on Weds. and worked quickly, well and efficiently. They are extremely pleasant and comfortable to be around. Here are some bonus observations: 1) if there is something you ask Walt to do that he thinks could be done cheaper by someone else, he tells you. 2) my dogs LOVED them. Three of my dogs pretty much get along with everybody but my fourth can be a real handful and either barks and semi lunges (if he doesn't like you) or humps (if he does). He did neither with Walt and Tammy; instead, he treated them like family from the very beginning. He never, ever does that. They are coming back next week because I've found more stuff for them to do.

I can't imagine doing without them. They are absolutely wonderful. They do just about everything. It is he and his wife. No matter what it is, he can do everything. I just love Walt and his partner too. They come out whenever we need them. They are totally reliable. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. They do things carefully. There's not a thing that he hasn't done that's not first class. They give good advice.

After one electrician failed to show up and another failed to even return a call, Walt responded promptly, gave an estimate on the phone, followed up with a scheduled appointment, called to confirm arrival time, arrived on time, did good work, and left my garage cleaner than he found it. He and his wife worked as a good team.

Walt showed up on time with his wife to assist him which was great. However, the mirror was hung too low, off center of the new pedestal sink we just had installed and crooked. It goes down hill and looks terrible. There is also a scratch on the brand new mirror. I am not saying he scratched it but I would have appreciated him telling me about it before hanging the mirror in my newly remolded half bath. The mirror was the final touch in the two month project of completely redoing this bathroom. He also left the mirror covered with fingerprints and drywall mud when he left the job site. I am so disappointed that I have to remove the mirror and repair this wall again after just finishing this work a few weeks ago. Also the recessed can light is not working now.

They did a great job! We are very happy with their service and will continue to use them.

He did an absolutely outstanding job! He and his wife were so easy to work with, and did exactly what I wanted. He explained why he would rather not do something I asked, for good reason, and he gives you a sense of trust, which is worth a lot.

Walt and Tammy originally came out to give an estimate on fixing dry rot around the front door. They were honest, and after assessing the state of the door, told me that by having them patch the problem would be a waste of money and recommended I find someone to replace the door unit itself. While they were out I had them estimate some other projects. Walt recognized the need to get the caulking done soon in time for the rainy season and kept in touch to find a good dry day to work. He and Tammy are both extremely nice people and work with great attention to detail. They go far beyond the minimum needed to properly complete a job and look for other things to fix or repair along the way. I would recommend Walt in a heartbeat and will definitely have them back as I find other miscellaneous projects around the house.

Very friendly people. They did great work at a very good price. Took a little while to get a date for the work, but I wouldn't hold this against them because this wasn't a rush job. I recommend their work and would use them again.
