The Polished Home

I was very pleased with the work performed. The house was clean and ready for our family celebration.

Came home and everything looked nice and tidy, was very pleased, would definitely call The Polished Home again.

The Polished House was able to schedule me in 24 hours! They showed up on time and were very pleasant, diligent, and focused. I would totally have them back again!

They did an excellent job on my stove. They cleaned all of the low surfaces very well; floors, baseboards, under beds, but some walls an higher space were not cleaned as "deeply" as I would have liked. Overall, for the value, I would use them again.

I've been using The Polished Home as my regular cleaning service for over two years. They are wonderful with pets and the ladies are very sweet. They do a great job and are very careful and conscientious with our belongings. We have a large bungalow with three full bathrooms. With a large dog, we generate a lot of dust and dog hair. They use equipment and cleaning products that are pet friendly. Our dog loves them and goes crazy every time they come over.

I'll keep using the company as long as they continue to have positive employment practices (no hiring people as underpaid, independent contractors), my crew leader stays the same, and they continue to do the great job they have done at my current price.

I used this service for six months. They were apparently bought by a national company. They didn't notify me of this and charged my CC $1150 under a company name I never heard of. I reported a fraudulent charge and had to hassle with canceling my card and get a new one. Then, The Polished Home called to say they were now called Alpha Ecological Clean. The owner, Amy, never called to follow up once I signed up for the service and never contacted me about the sale of her business. The crew was different every week with the exception (most weeks) of a crew lead. They started out strong with a few good detailed cleanings and it was downhill after that. NO attention to detail. They showed up at a different time every week, usually an 1-3 hours later than they promised to be here. And they could not seem to figure out how to clean our rubberized kitchen floor so they just left it dirty. The only bright spots were the crew lead, Alyssa, who was clearly trying to get things done properly but was also obviously rushing and behind schedule and, they were very good working around our cats and dogs.

I should have been leery about this business when I didn't get any follow up calls on the initial house cleaning. It seems like with a new client that you would check in and make sure they were satisfied. I called their office and I finally did get a return call and the owner said that she normally does call to check in but she'd been really busy. Well, the initial cleaning was great. They were very thorough. It was a bit spendy, but they spent a lot of time getting things clean. When I did talk to the owner I told her that I didn't want to spend $300+ (that was the initial cleaning bill) on each cleaning. Anyway to make a long story short, the regular bi-weekly cleanings were pretty good, but started to deteriorate after several cleanings. To be fair to 'The Polished Home' folks I didn't pass this information on to the owner. I figured that I would call and let them know that I was dissatisfied and give them a chance to correct it. Normally, I'm not home when the housekeepers did their job. They'd let themselves into my home and then do the job and leave. I did find the housekeeping staff to be honest and careful in making sure my house was secure when they left.On the last cleaning on 3.29 I happened to be home. The housekeepers (2 people) were in and out of my house in less than an hour. Then I got the invoice and was billed for 2 people for 2 hours. That was the last straw and I cancelled the service as soon as I received the statement in the mail. It made me question my prior bills as well since the last two cleanings (which were equally sub-par) were billed at exactly the same amount.Here's the biggest issue I have with this company though: they wouldn't return repeated phone calls to discuss the billing. For all I know the housekeepers turned in the job at one hour (two people hours) and the company billed me for two (four people hours). I have no idea if they are this unethical because they wouldn't return phone calls to explain what happened. I'm a pretty easy person to satisfy. I always give folks a second chance. But I would really warn against using this company even though my experience with the housekeepers was 'ok' the owner of the company is at best unprofessional and possibly very unethical.

I called on a Monday and they were able to send cleaners out on Wednesday--incredibly fast service! As I was still recuperating from major surgery, I was able to give the cleaners only the sketchiest instructions. They were able to quickly see what needed doing and to do it efficiently with no wasted time. The day they came to the house, I was still feeling rocky on account of the surgery and my husband was suffering from a cold which he'd picked up while with me in the hospital. Thus, neither one of us was really able to able to give the cleaners the sort of inctructions we'd have liked, but it didn't matter. They were obviously experienced enough to see exactly what needed doing and to do it on their own. An impressive job!

A couple times a year we like to have cleaners in to do our floors, dust, and tackle the big jobs we hate- like oven cleaning. My folks were coming in for the holidays, so we called Polished Home based on Angie's list recommendations. Polished Home showed up on time, with a crew of three, and listened to my requests. I had just steam cleaned the downstairs carpets, so they didn't have to worry about them. I specifically mentioned wanting the bathrooms scrubbed and the floors done, and asked that they clean the oven if they had time. They did a wonderful job on the dusting and bathrooms and cleaned the oven. My only complaint was that they seemed to skimp on cleaning the wood floors. I thought they looked dirty so I wiped with a wet paper towel and a bunch of dirt came up. The oven was sparkling, but the floor weren't.

Three young women arrived on time and ready to clean! They all did an exceptional job, especially since there were still items to be packed and moved in every room! They were mindful of things and checked with me before beginning other areas to see if I needed them to spend more time on some certain areas. I was very pleased with their thoroughness and would recommend them to friends - very professional.

Amy, the owner always answers calls or is quick to return a call. The team that arrives has their marching orders, speak English, and pay attention to details. I've used this service several times now, have always been delighted with the work, and would recommend them to anyone I care about.

Amy and her team were great. They showed up on time and were respectful of my house and good with my cats. Some of the areas in the kitchen needed additional cleaning because of embedded grease and the blinds also needed additional work after the job was complete. Amy came right out the next day to supervise and clean. She gave me good tips on how to manage longer-term cleaning on the trouble spots and was very open to feedback. I'm very pleased with her service and would definitely recommend her and use her again.

Excellent responsiveness, professional service, and a reasonable price. They took the time to understand my needs and met all my expectations. I plan to continue ongoing housecleaning services with The Polished Home. Nice people, good work.

I contacted Amy for a before Thanksgiving cleaning at my daughters home. Shelley was having the family dinner and I thought the gift of a fresh home would help her. She has an 11 month old 150 pound Great Dane puppy that has taken his toll on the house. I didn't give Amy a lot of notice for a first time customer and she came through with flying colors. She got Shelley scheduled and came and cleaned right along with her crew. She couldn't have been more helpful and the whole experience has been a pleasure. Oh, and they love animals which is a real plus for those of us that have them. They scrubbed the floors and continued right up the walls. What cheerful hard workers Just the kind of people you like having in your home. I do believe these ladies truly enjoy cleaning. I'm in the process of moving to Portland and you better believe Amy is going to be cleaning my home. If you want someone cleaning your home that loves what they're doing The Polished Home is the right choice for you.

I held my initial interview with Amy. I was in immediate need and she worked me into her schedule that day. She walked around my house and asked several questions to make sure she understood what my cleaning needs were. She was great with my dogs and gave me an approximate quote. She said it may even be less over time with the same cleaning crew. She worked me into her schedule that week and was able to schedule me on the date I requested within weeks. She said she would show up for the first cleaning and would introduce me to her crew. They showed up on time and were very respectful of my house by putting on booties before entering. They use vacuums that they wear on there back to avoid nicks in the wall (which my other service did) and they all spent a little bit of time with my Golden Retrievers. I was working in my office while they cleaned. They were quiet and respectful. Amy showed up and personally scrubbed my kitchen floor since my other service could never really get the tile clean. BTW.. It looks fabulous. I was very pleased with the service and cleaning. I have hired them to clean my house weekly and I am pleased with my decision.

I was able to reach Amy on my first phone call and schedule a time for her to come by and give me an estimate. Amy's original estimate was almost 100.00 more than I paid, which was fine as we were not sure how long the cleaning would take as the house was in rough shape due to the remodel. Amy ended up having to schedule the cleaning over 2 days, which was also fine as this allowed them to do a more thorough job. Amy and Amanda did a great job with dusting and getting all of the multiple ledges over doors and sneaky spots dust hides. They had to contend with drywall dust as well, which they tackled well. Over all they did a terriffic job and Amy made a special trip back to my house to clean the old white grout in my main level bathroom. The grout looks better than it has in years. I feel Amy's pricing is fair and would definitely use her services again. As well both Amy and Amanda were very pleasant to work with. As far as the "B" on punctuality, Amy was late one day, however it was due to traffic and she explained being late is very rare for her. She did call to inform me she was running late.

See above. I was extremely impressed with Amy and her eagerness to be of help. Add to that the excellent reviews I've read on Angie's List and you'd have to conclude that her company is topnotch!!

Amy (company owner) went out of her way to come in a clean our rental on a Saturday. Did an excellent job, was very thorough. Detailed bath and kitchen, cleaned all mini blinds and light fixtures. I've already recommended her to others and will use her again myself. Left me a follow up voice mail regarding items she was concerned with. Very professional and friendly. Excellent in every way.

They were excellent. They charge per-person, per-hour, but completed the job faster than we expected. They were punctual, friendly, efficient, and professional.

They do a good job. I spent about $110. I will use this company in the future.

Everything went very well. The crew of 3 young ladies did excellent work, and the price they charged was very reasonable. They will be cleaning my house monthly now.

I spent $105 on the service. They come out every two weeks. They are doing a great job. They have been doing it for about two months now. They do a quick job for me. They do everything, including dusting, moping, waxing; etc. I will continue to use this company in the future.

The lady, Amy, came in and analyzed the house, what we wanted done, and what she could do. She then organized her crew. They came in and did a good job. It was very expensive, but they were very professional. Amy delivered on what she said she could.

I'm happy with their service and plan to use them again. Amy is willing to work with me to obtain my goal of a cleaner house but keep within my budget.
