It is always a pleasure dealing with Mark, who is such a nice guy and so pleasant to be around. He showed up when he said he would, and diligently went about a task which turned out (embarrassingly enough) to be something we should have handled ourselves -- and did it without making us feel like idiots, which was very nice of him. To top it off, he did not charge for his time, which was not insignificant. In the process, we were reminded of what a gem this guy is -- he knows his skylights, is a pure pro to deal with business-wise, and is just nice to be around.

I knew basically what I wanted, and Mark ensured I got the right products by asking about my project, and showing me his inventory of Velux skylights. Only Velux had the aesthetic and technology I wanted in addition to the best guarantee among skylight manufacturers. Mark was prompt in returning my phone calls, and had everything I wanted in stock (except for the blinds, which though as a custom option I knew would have to be special ordered, I was surprised how quickly they arrived). Skylights come with a variety of different options and features which can make it daunting to chose one, and Mark at Natural Light Skylight Company was thorough in making sure every detail was correct from the beginning. My project ended up being more affordable than I was expecting, and I got to see what I was buying demonstrated in operation at the Natural Light facility. Though my roofing contractor installed the product, having visited Natural Light Skylight Company, speaking with Mark, seeing the products installed and in operation, and knowing they're a Velux certified 5-Star Skylight Specialist, I would not hesitate to have Natural Light Skylight perform the installation in either a new or existing roof. The skylights completely changed our house. It's now bright and inviting and beautiful. We installed both tubular, fixed, and venting skylights, and electric shades, and are thrilled with our investment, and all of our guests love them. If you're thinking of adding a skylight to brighten up your living space do yourself a favor and just do it! You can't go wrong with a Velux product, and you can't go wrong with a professional, certified craftsman like Mark.

My wife and I recently purchased a home in West Linn. One issue we had with it was that the center hallway and adjoining rooms seemed to lack natural light and were always dark and gloomy. The Guest bath, laundry room and 1/2 bath all needed the light to be turned on whenever you went into the rooms. They were truly dark even in the middle of the day. I called Mark and he came out to give us an estimate for three 10 inch solar tubes. He looked at the situation and agreed that we really needed a light source in those rooms and offered advice on the location of each in order to gain the most benefit. We also mentioned how dark and gloomy the hallway appeared and asked his advice on what could be done about that. He told us that he would recommend that we install two more 14 inch solar tubes that would bring light into the hallway and as a benefit light would spill into the family room brightening it. We really liked the idea so we told Mark to go ahead and schedule the installation. He scheduled us about one week out. He showed up with an assistant and got to work. It took one and one half days of work to complete the five lights. I climbed up onto the roof to see how they handled the roof penetrations and was impressed with their work. Shingles were neatly cut and the flashing placed carefully under. All joints were calked where necessary. Insulation in the attic was carefully replaced around the tubes. The holes in the ceiling were carefully cut and look very good all trimmed with the molding pieces. They carefully cleaned up all of the dust and debris when the work was completed and then we did a walk through to see the finished product. It is amazing how much light that the solar tubes bring into the house. Rooms that required an overhead light to be turned on now look like they have a light on. I have found myself reaching for the light switch to turn off the light as I exit the rooms. And the light coming from the two 14 inch tubes in the hallway is fantastic. The hallway is no longer a dark and gloomy passage. It is bright and cheery.

I called Mark because of some water leaking into my sun tunnel skylight. He came out on Wednesday to assess the problem. My sun tunnel is over ten years old and parts are hard to get. Mark had saved some old parts for just such a problem. He checked his inventory and luckily he had exactly what I needed. He returned the next day to do the repair. Now my sun tunnel is better than new, hopefully I'll get ten more years out of it. I would definitely use this company again.

He communicated well and kept me updated on arrival time, etc. His work was very efficient and took about an hour.

It went great. He was easy to work with, and was very neat, polite, and punctual. He also fixed my leak.

Mark was prompt both with the estimate and the service when the glass had arrived (which had to be special ordered). On removal of the old pane he noted problems with the gasket and flashing which were both corrected. He also, at no charge, fastened down another skylight that was loose and cleaned it. Great work, great guy.

It was a great experience from the beginning. I had a leaking skylight in the middle of winter. I called Mark and he had me send him pictures by email. Then he came out the next day to look at our skylights. He put us on his list and said he would get to us as the weather got nicer. He then covered both of our skylights with plastic, so that neither one would leak. He called a few times to update us on our status on the list. We decided to have two sun tunnels installed in addition to having the skylights replaced. Mark was very honest with his quotes and gave us a lot of options. There was no pressure at all to do anything, he left the decisions up to us after we had all of the information. When they came out they did a quick, professional job and cleaned up nicely. He quoted us a price and it was exactly what he said it would be. I enjoyed working with Mark and would be happy to have him out again.

It went well, he first gave me a bid over the phone, then he came out and measured and gave me another bid, which was very similar to the first. I ordered the window, he came back three weeks later and installed it.

I contacted several Angie's List companies for help with a leaking skylight. Only Mark Slick of Natural Light Skylights called back. In the course of talking about my issue, he asked that I send him pictures of where the leak was. I just texted a couple to him while we were on the phone. He immediately recognized what was going on, told me that he could not fix it, but he could install a new unit. Then he said "But that's a Milgard skylight, and if you are the original owner, they'll probably replace it free of charge". In short, he spent 30 minutes on the phone with me, discussing my leaking skylight, and then told me how to get it fixed for free. I was impressed. I next called Milgard, and they scheduled a replacement.

Checked skylight on roof & found a dam of leaves that forced the rain-water to flood the window flashings. Cleaned out same and the skylight is not leaking. Had another vendor previous check the skylight and he recommended skylight replacement !

Mark was quick to respond to my phone calls and obviously knew all about skylights. He asked me if I could get measurements and photos, which I was able to do and email, as I am comfortable climbing on my roof. This simplified things (and maybe kept hte cost down), as he then knew exactly which skylight I needed and quoted me the price for replacement using the best, up to date glass. Rarely do you get a contractor who does everything right, or even better than expected. The price was good, the service prompt, the skylight high quality and exactly as I expected, everything was cleaned up nicely, and he was pleasant to work with. Highly recommended!

I called the company and left a message and within just a few minutes, Mark called me back. We talked about the leak in one of our skylights but because we just purchased the home, I didn't have any details I could provide regarding manufactuerer, installation year, etc. I took pictures and emailed them to Mark and that same day he called me to discuss what he thought the problem was based on the pictures and what options we had. He was very knowledgeable and figured out the approximate age of the window, manufacturerer and most likely problem even before coming out to the home or charging a fee. We scheduled a time for him to come out to the house and confirm the problem, which he did the next day. The window was an older model and the seal/glaze was deteriorated. He also informed me that this particular style of skylight should never have been installed on that roof because the low pitch. He presented all my options, which included repairing the seal or replacing the window. Unfortunately, due to the low roof pitch, he could not warranty the seal repair, so we opted to replace the window so that we would have the guarantee. I did appreciate having all the details regarding the work, price and warranty up front so that we could make an informed decision. Due to the type of work needed, Mark informed me that the work would need to be scheduled based on the weather, so in the meantime, he wrapped both of our skylights (not just the leaking one) in plastic to keep water out until the work could be scheduled. Mark called a few weeks later to let me know the window was in (it was not a standard size, so it had to be special ordered) and that he could come by the next day to install, which worked perfectly with my schedule. He arrived right on time, covered all the area in the house to protect it from dust, etc and was done within an hour. We decided to only replace the one leaking skylight at this time, but I have already let Mark know that I will be contacting him next year to get him scheduled to do the other. In the meantime, he left the plastic wrapping on the second window in order to protect it from the rain this season.

These guys did a fantastic job - very prompt and professional. I'm very happy with the end result and would definitely use them again.

Mark Slick is the consumate professional. He was always punctual, to the point about the job, materials, and work involved. Gave me a reasonable quote and worked within my schedule. Good problem-solving, used high-quality materials, installed the skylights in one day, and left the area clean and pristine. He and his work partner were a breath of fresh air -- honest, straightforward, extremely competent, and very droll. I'd recommend this company in a second. Good people doing good work.

These guys were great. They removed the old skylight, prepped the new one for installation, mounted it, then cleaned it again. After being screwed down, there were some slight smears still visible in the afternoon light. So, they removed the unit, took it back down the ladder (2nd story shake roof), and thoroughly cleaned it. When remounted, the window was very clean. Mark also performed, at no additional cost, some other cosmetic repairs that improved the appearance of the skylight well. From start to finish they were friendly and professional. The completed work met and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Natural Light Skylight.

I called Natural Light Skylight and 2 other places from Angie's List. Mark responded quickly and professionally to my inquiry and provided me with a clearly written estimate within a day or two or our meeting. Mark was exceptionally knowledgeable about skylights and knew the sizes and ages of my skylights by sight. He was extremely professional and courteous and when looking over my old skylights and didn't try to hard sell me anything that I didn't want. I chose to work with Natural Light Skylight instead of the others because, while the estimates were actually very comparable, Mark does not send out a "team of workers" as the other companies do; instead, he brings his 20 years of experience to the job and was on the job everyday installing the skylights himself. His co-worker was another skylight professional so I am 100% confident that the new skylights were installed correctly and that the old skylights were removed correctly. The skylights were installed over 3 days, and they used my garage to store their tools and the skylights since I have a very steep driveway. On their final day, I walked into the garage after they had left only the find that they had swept the garage so that it actually looked better than when they arrived. Now that is service. I highly recommend Mark and his co-worker TJ for all your skylight needs.

He had a replacement for our non-standard size skylight on hand and made special arrangements to meet us after hours to get us the skylight for our roofers. He was nice and helpful, giving us advice to make the installation go better, and even giving us garden-fresh tomatoes. We will be getting shades from him.

Since our skylights were a custom size--we were given an estimate and approximate installation date. When the skylights were received we were called and installation arranged and completed. No fuss-no hassle job went smoothly from start to finish.

We had Mark's cell phone number from an earlier inquiry, and ended up calling him in late December (when unbeknownst to us he normally takes some personal time off) due to two leaking skylights. Not only did Mark take the call, but he was out at our place the very next day to perform an emergency patch of the flashing around two leaking skylights, and gave us options on how to proceed. A few days later we placed an order with him to replace both 4'x4' skylights, and he was back on the first day with acceptable weather to do the install. He was on time, on budget, put tarps down, took his shoes off before entering our house (despite us insisting it wasn't necessary), and vacuumed and performed a full cleanup when he was done. Its been several months since the install, with many rainy days, and we haven't had even the slightest issue with the install. Mark was an absolute pleasure to deal with, no pressure, and would gladly answer any questions we had. I wish more companies these days would give the same level of customer care that we received from Mark.
