+ 0 moreExcellent. Chris was quick to respond to my call. Took out carpet (and moved furniture) in all three bedrooms. Tough job but, was neat (cleaned up after himself) fast and thorough. Honest and hard working. I was really happy with Chris and would definitely have him back for other jobs.

+ 1 moreIt went reasonably well despite the unforeseen problems noted above.
Description of Work: We had Chris install a new back entry door (which we provided) and do some drywall installation and a number of small fixes around the house (mostly adjusting doors). We bought the Angie's $149 deal for six hours labor. We had planned for the door installation to be included but the door we had didn't fit, so he had to come back for that, resulting in the additional cost. We still kept him six hours the first day doing other minor odd jobs. He seems competent and his regular hourly rate is quite reasonable. I think he charges for his travel time. I was disappointed that he doesn't do finish drywall work, just the installation, so we still have the finish work to be done. That should be clear in his description of services offered because I might have chosen someone else had I known. He did do a nice job on the installation. You can't beat the price of the work.

Description of Work: From the start Chris knew what we wanted in our garage remodel. He worked with us and our budget to re frame, straighten out and reside our garage. Along the way he pointed out options or alterations that were either money savers, or in the best interest of the garage. He was clean, prompt and it was a pleasure to have him around the house. We look forward to having him back with our next home remodel!

+ 2 moreTHE CONTRACTOR ARRIVED ON TIME CHECKED THE JOB OUT AND BEGAN TO WORK. I PROVIDED THE WOOD AND HE WORKED UNTIL FINISHED. THERE WAS SAWING WHICH LEFT DUST BUT HE CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF JUST AS IF HE WERE AT HOME. HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SCREWS TO DO THE JOB SO HE WENT AND PURCHASED SOME WHICH WAS A VERY SHORT TIME LEFT FROM MY HOME RETURNING AND FINISHED THE JOB.
Description of Work: i WAS TRULY IMPRESSED WITH THE PUNCUALITY OF THIS COMPANY. MY CALL FOR AN APPT WAS RETURNED WITHIN 24 HRS AND I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPT TO SUIT MY SCHEDULE. I RECEIVED EXCELLENT, QUALITY AND NEAT SERVICE. I HAD A SUBFLOOR REPLACED IN MY DINETTE. THE MAN WAS VERY POLITE, VERY NEAT AND WORKED THE ENTIRE TIME HE WAS AT MY HOME--NO WASTED TIME. BECAUSE I DID NOT USE THE ENTIRE TIME ALOTTED HE TOLD ME THAT IF I FIND SOMETHING ELSE THAT NEEDSTO BE DONE HE WOULD COME BACK AND GIVE ME THE FULL TIME ALOTTED-- WOW !! HOW REFRESHING TO FIND A COMPANY WITH INTEGRITY. THIS COMPANY LEFT ME WITH AN IMPRESSION OF AN HONEST COMPANY WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK. I WILL CONTACT THIS CONTRACTOR AGAIN WHEN I NEED SOMETHING DONE KNOWING THAT I CAN DEPEND ON HIS WORK AND HIS WORD.

Description of Work: I purchased the "big deal" special to take care of some tasks that I couldn't get to. Scott painted the underside of the roof decking. Cut and nailed in some external molding to fill the gaps.

+ -1 moreChris was punctual, cleaned up after himself. He was hard working, professional and did not take breaks. He was very helpful in that he spotted things that needed repair and took care of it without me having to ask.He was very thorough in his cleaning of the siding and front area of my townhouse. He was friendly and I believe has a strong work ethic. Even though he very recently had a family emergency, he came back to fulfill his obligations even though I believe most people would have told him to reschedule. A strong work ethic is something we do not see too often anymore. It was nice to see it today! I have plans to use Chris again in the near future. I would absolutely recommend Chris!
Description of Work: Hung storage railing system in my garage and hung up all of my yard tools, beach chairs etc... Fixed my bubbler fountain in my backyard. Cleaned back of house(spider webs/dirt, etc) Cleaned my balcony/deck. Power washed front porch, front of house/garage door. Caulked areas of siding that were showing signs of cracking. Taped and applied mud to drywall areas that had to be repaired. Hung up brackets for hanging chimes.

+ 2 moreHe came 10 min early. He was clean and friendly, seemed eager to work. Was willing to do everything we wanted, and pointed out things that could be done that we hadn't noticed. He worked quickly, did not take a break and made sure that he used all the time we had paid for. We will hire him for projects in the future. He exceeded our expectations.

+ 0 moreIt went very well. Chris, the owner, was a few minutes late and apologized profusely. He got right to work after walking through the house with me as I showed him what I wanted done. I was working in my home office while he worked, and he only spoke with me if he had questions or needed clarification on something. He finished in exactly 6 hours. He made sure that everything worked and everything was cleaned up. I am thrilled with what he did.
Description of Work: Chris Jacobson, the owner of Jacobson Construction, offered a coupon through "The Big Deal" of Angie's List. It was $149 for six hours of work--anything (within reason) that a handyman would do. Chris came today and I am thrilled and amazed at what he did for me. I had a list of things I wanted done around the house, and I had the materials ready for him. First, he removed my outside garage porch lights and replaced them with much better (and greener) lights. He then installed a "mister" around the top of my porch roof, so in the summer, I can have a cooling mist while sitting in my Adirondack chair. My old front door handle and deadbolt was replaced with a snazzy new one. He replaced my son's bedroom door, and installed a new shower head in the upstairs bath. He mounted my flat screen TV above my big bathtub so now I can watch a movie while soaking. He put a grounded outlet in my "water closet" so I can use a small heater when it's freezing in the winter (yes, I have had ice in my toilet). He cleaned up after himself.

+ 2 moreI set up an appointment for Chris to perform work at our house the week before. He showed up on time for our appointment and worked hard the whole time he was here. He even put up with my two and a half year old asking him endless questions. I bought his coupon for the Angie's List big deal so I saved a lot of money, but he would have been worth more for sure. He didn't charge me for the supplies he used, although I would have been happy to pay for them. Overall a great experience and I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: Chris repaired drywall, a door and baseboards. Installed carbon monoxide detectors on each floor. Installed a cabinet door and two shelves in our bathroom. He also did touch-up painting and changed light-bulbs in difficult to reach places.

Description of Work: English is my 2nd language. Chris is nice enough to listen to what I need and explained to me how he will get the job done. This is a great pleasure to work with him. He shows up on time, clean up the mess before he left and result is greater than what we expected. He work 2~3 hours longer than he originally estimate but he didn't charge us the extra. We are so happy about the result. We would grest recomment him to be your first choice of contractor.
