Deck Rejuvenations

The crew was great. Worked very h****** a very hot day. The bottom deck needed paint stripped off, which the crew did with a sander, not some awful chemicals, and the other two needed cleaned and restained. They did a great job.

I really wish they had someone managing their communication formats, as there was no way for me to get in touch with them.

Arrived on time, courteous, professional, and job was done within time length and price estimate. Beautiful work - deck looks brand new. Would definitely use again.

Bill Cumby, the owner, arrived at the appointed time for his estimate. Both my wife and I found him excellent ? his overall attitude to the customer, his knowledge of decks, and he explained exactly what he thought should be done, and pointed out areas where there could be additional cost. We finally decided between Bill?s company and one other. Even though Bill?s estimate was slightly higher, we chose his company because of his customer-friendly attitude, the fact he did not push a full deck replacement, and no down payment was required. He put us down for ?finish by July 7? to allow for weather problems, and the work was finished on July 4 ? yes, his crew worked on the morning of Independence Day! His crew were great, even asking if they could come earlier one day so they could do more before the forecast heat was too high. The team leader always asked whenever they found an issue beyond the original quote, and discussed which planks they recommended be replaced. In the end we did replace more than the original estimate. Many of the guests at our party knew the deck and were very complimentary about the job Deck Rejuvenations did ? we are very happy with it, and will use Bill?s company for his recommended maintenance.

Fabulous!!!!! Wow! The difference in my deck is like night and day! These guys showed up on time, worked hard (they don't pressure wash, they use good old elbow grease) and were professional. This was one of my most positive experiences I've had with work people. And I've had a lot of good experiences due to Angie's list. They were able to clean my deck within a few days of calling because of the rainy season. If it was sunny out, there would be a wait while they are doing building etc. In any case, Hire These Guys!!! Great!

Two workers performed this job. They were punctual and polite and did an excellent job. The stain was applied by hand and they were careful to cover all areas. The finished product looked great and we would use them again anytime!

The gentleman who came to do the estimate arrived on time, was polite and knowledgeable. I was offered several options of types of stains and he fully explained the pros and cons. There was a range in prices. I chose a rather more expensive option - we will see if it was worth it as time goes by. I have received several compliments since the job was done, on how the deck looks. It is nice to go out on the deck and have it not feel like an ice-skating rink like it did before, because of moss and goop that had built up.

We have two older decks on our property, which we are guessing haven't been maintained for atleast 5 years. We asked Bill to take a look at both decks to provide a quote on repairs. We had a couple spots of obvious dry rot, and knew that the deck would need to be cleaned, sanded, and stained. Bill was very punctual, professional, and honest with us. He told us that given the age and condition of the decks, we'll need to replace them in the next few years. He recommended that we complete the repairs ourselves since his services wouldn't make sense given the age and condition of the decks. He said we could spend $1200 or so to have his or another company replace some boards, clean, and stain, but to spend this much on a deck that will need to be replaced and cost $5000 might not make sense. He made some recommendations for us in doing the work ourselves in order to save money. We really appreciated his honesty and recommendations, and would gladly recommend him to others.

Contractor was on time for the estimate. There were a few days delayed due to weather but contractor kept me informed. Deck looks like it did when it was new.

Bill set up a time for the estimate and had a book to demonstrate past him. He crew was friendly, polite, considerate. They did mess part of the work bid form. Bil promptly remedied the situation. Over, it's an A- score. Our deck is beautiful. Our fence is good.

The owner came by on schedule to provide an estimate and gave me prices for various stages of work since I considered doing some of it myself. I was concerned that the details in the construction of the deck would be difficult to have done right. The pricing was in the middle of several estimates but the flexibilty he gave me in the amount the job he could/would do, made them the clear choice. Also, because they sand, rather than strip, I felt I would get a much better job on some of the particularly soft woods. I am pleased with the results. They were very careful with my wood, some of which was pretty unusual and there were a lot of details in the construction that required extra attention. I had an excellent experience with this crew. Smart and thoughtful guys who showed respect for my decks and woodwork. They showed up when they said they would and did everything I asked them to do without showing any frustration. They would have been entitled to quite a bit of frustration too! I had originally decided I would have then sand and refinish one deck, a long bench and the railings. After we started the work, and on the hottest days of the summer, I added the second deck, a green house, a covered walkway and an arbor. Because almost all of the additional work was not in the estimate, I took a huge (and generally imprudent) risk and just told the owner to bill me an hourly rate (I didn't even ask him what that rate would be). I would not normally do that but I had such a positive feeling about all of these guys that I figured it would be easier to trust them to be fair. I also felt that adding the time and hassle of making him come out and re-estimate even more work wouldn't respect how much he had already done to accommodated me. Which was a lot. Good work and good clean-up. Don't be put off by the answering service.

Bill, the company owner, measured and presented an estimate. I needed to cut the cost and he was very helpful in suggesting ways to do that. The crew, led by TJ, arrived on time, put in full days of work and always cleaned up at the end of each day. They were very professional, pleasant and good to work with. The finished product is a deck that looks amazing. I'd read on Angie's List that while this company wasn't the cheapest, it was the best and I agree. I definitely recommend Deck Rejuvenations and will be using them for all future deck maintenance.

Weson & Steve worked 3 days sanding and staining. They were professional and worked very hard. In these days of bad customer service its refreshing to get excellent service and a great finished job. I highly recommend these guys!!!

Bill Cumby, the owner, did an excellent job of explaining their process and why at first glance his bid was higher than others. That being said, we have had poor experiences with other companies that we used. Thus, we decided to use Bill's company, and it was a wonderful experience. The company's superior materials and unique process resulted in a deck that looks outstanding. In fact, it almost looks better than when we moved in nearly 10 years ago.

My deck was in pretty bad shape after this past winter so I contacted Deck Rejuvinations and one other contractor for quotes. Deck Rejuvinations was by far the more professional of the two, and also had the lower quote. The workers spent the entire day first sanding my deck to remove the old stain, then applying new stain after checking with me to see what color I preferred. When they were done my deck looked like it was brand new, just in time for house guests. I was extremely pleased with the work and will use them again next year for touch-up work.

Work proceeded exactly as owner Bill Cumby indicated it would when he bid the job.

The decking was in bad condition but salvageable. The young men that did the job couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

Sent an email for estimate on deck repairs, when I received call back was told job Wasn't't worth his time, does not do jobs on east side too far to go call someone else, I asked if he could recommend someone on the east side, said no

The crew washed the deck, every inch was cleaned. The deck/porch was sanded, with 4 grades of sandpaper and a stain was applied. The crew worked hard and areas that couldn't be reached with the big sander were done with a hand sander. The deck is beautiful again.

Absolutely outstanding! Quality of work, attention to detail has given us a brand new deck!Work was done as scheduled. While conventional pressure washing and spraying of stain is cheaper, there is no comparision (based on past experiences) to the approach taken by Deck Rejuventations.

Deck Rejuvenations is not the cheapest deck and porch refinsher by far but may well be the best value. The owner and his staff are first rate, pleasant, helpful and do the best work I've seen. His team did a very complete and first rate job. When they finished the porch and deck looked better than when they were new. We contacted Bill Cumby (the owner) in mid-May 2012, to refinish our big front porch and large rear deck. Bill came out on short notice, explained in detail what his firm does, how they do it and the materials they use. We have had the decks redone in a traditional fashion (clean with chemicals & re-stained with typical store products) with less than fantastic results. Bill suggested their approach which was to sand down and refinish all surfaces to be done and re staining them with an industrial strength finish they use. We agreed and signed the contract and Bill indicated they would be able to start our job in about 2 months. In early July Bill called and indicted his team could start our job earlier than planned. His team appeared as scheduled. They moved all items off the deck storing them in safe areas, cleaned (with water brush), sanded (including fine sanding) all surfaces to be redone, and stained both areas. This included steps on both porch and deck, as well as a long running deck rail and balustrades. All work was completed in two days. The result was exceptional and the porch and deck never looked better. I would not hesitate to hire Bill's firm again or recommend them to family and friends.

The owner gave me one of the 3 estimates I had received for the project. His was the highest but his knowledge of what needed to be done and explanations seemed the most realistic. I was 40th in line to have the work done, and about a month out, since we were in the middle of the rainy season. The company called me earlier than I had expected and set a date. They cleaned the surfaces on the first day, then had to pause for a day due to rain. I was at work for 12 hours while the job was being done, but my neighbors told me that they had a large crew and had worked hard until 8pm or longer in order to finish the job. When I came home, I was amazed at how well it had turned out. They did a beautiful job and restored it to a very usable and good-looking deck. The price was exactly as quoted on the bid. I am impressed with the workmanship and the end product and have recommended them to friends.

Wow! The transformation of my decks is just amazing. I've tasked myself with cleaning and restaining our decks for several years now but never got it done. Deck Rejuvenations did a much better job then I would have been able to do. The price was a bit high compared to a quick power wash and stain that I would have done, but the results speak for themselves.
