Description of Work: Weather caused several reschedulings of the deck refinishing project. Communications were a little unclear about date and time of project (and that it was going to be rescheduled) causing some wasted time and energy of waiting around for crew to show up.

Description of Work: Provided: Hand scrub cleaning with mildewicide and detergent cleaner; removal of organic debris from top and between deck boards by hand using gentle scrub brushes and cleaners that eradicate microbiological growth. Hand brushed application of clear stain to top of rails, stairs, top of boards and in between. |This was the third time I have used the company. The final product is extremely well done and looks beautiful. |I was very disappointed with the communication process and ability to reach the owner or office staff with questions. When I called in Spring (April, I believe) to schedule a deck cleaning, I was told to expect that it would probably be in early August. In mid-May I received an email telling me that, due to unexpected weather changes, the crew would be at my home the next day (May 19th) to do the work. They came as promised, removed the deck furniture and plants, worked for several hours cleaning the deck, and replaced the deck furniture. No staining was done at that time. I received no further communication nor a bill from the company for 2 months when I then received another email telling me that I was scheduled in the next few days for the deck cleaning. At that time I had out-of-town house guests and was using the deck daily for meals, etc. I tried phoning and emailing to see if it was possible to change the date to the following week, but none of my attempts received a response. Ultimately I received a call from one of the crew members assigned to my project and discussed the problem with him. He was very helpful and agreed to move to the next week. On the revised date, he called in the morning to confirm that the crew would be there later in the day. Shortly afterwards, the office called and told me that they had gotten a message that I didn't want the work to be done that day because I had company. I replied to the woman from the office who called, that, no; that was information from the previous week; my house guests were now gone; and I had just confirmed with the crew that they would arrive soon. I also told her about my frustration in not being able to reach anyone at the office when I tried several times through both email and phone. In the course of several days, no one returned to me. |The company provides excellent deck maintenance. Their communication skills and customer service is sorely lacking. I totally understand that seasonal work is dependent upon weather conditions and that scheduling can be at best tentative, but logic would indicate that there may be a circumstance that arises that would make it necessary to be in touch with the company in a reasonable amount of time. I would expect to get a response from inquiries in 24-36 hours.

Description of Work: My deck (which is very expansive), was stripped, sanded and treated. It looks BEAUTIFUL! They were absolute professionals. There is no doubt that if something were not to my liking, they would correct it...but, it was ALL to my liking! Wow...

Description of Work: They replaced the existing deck boards with new cedar planks. The new deck was given a stain. They also refinished the existing wood deck railing by sanding off the old paint, sealing the metal pole upright connections with the wood, and then painting the wood railing. Most of the work was of high quality. The problems were on the customer relations. | |First off Bill was testing new project management software which kept sending messages which confused us. He told us to ignore the messages or call him. It was hard to understand the need to call him every day the system sent us a message. Don't test new software on your customers. | |Secondly, the workers had to pass thru our living room to access the deck. We had to provide rugs for them to walk on to protect out floors. A new covering appeared on the third day of the work. | |Thirdly, the crew lost or misplaced our paint can which provided the color sample for the railing paint. They first used an incorrect paint color derived from someone else's paint sample. The rail needed to be repainted with the correct color. They never did find the original can, but did provide us with a new can of trim paint. | |Then our neighbor told us that an outside part of the rail (facing them) was not painted. When asked Bill said that it was not possible to reach the area. A reasonable decision, but we should have been told by him and not our neighbor. | |Generally good work, but there were many things that were poorly handled.

Description of Work: Restain deck. Add additional bracings to deck to minimize swaying. Price was higher than others, but I believe the knowledge and level of work were better. (They were very well rated on Angie's List.) | |All work was completed on time and well done. Except there was a misunderstanding about whether or not to do one additional step connected to the deck. But they came back and did the additional step at no extra charge. | |When I initially contacted them, there was no response for several weeks. My understanding is this was due to a new employee who didn't understand/fulfill their responsibilities. Once they identified that problem, all contact was quick.

Description of Work: They refinished three decks at our home. They were very good, in spite of the fact that all three decks required hand sanding because of the pattern in the deck and also that the finish on them was harder to remove. Good job.

Description of Work: Completely strip, sand, and stain 1000 sq. ft two level clear cedar deck with extensive benches, rails, and fence.

Description of Work: I had Deck Rejuvenations sand, recess the nails in my deck, and apply a protective sealer to 12 year old decks and stairs. In addition, three boards were replaced in a small upper deck because the original boards were rotting.

Description of Work: I Don't have dirty, ugly slimy splintery decks. I used to spend about two weeks bleaching, scrubbing, washing, brushing and hosing. The decks looked better, But I required physical therapy. One synny day, I received a new customer discount card in the mail. Deck Rejuvenation, Bill Cumby, Owner. I couldn't believe my good fortune. Description of Work: Deck refinishing and continued maintenance

Description of Work: Sanded and refinished my deck (cedar). Used a tinted stain. Also did railings and benches in a solid color stain. That color was custom matched to my house. Separately Deck Rejuv. removed and rebuilt a cedar railing that had been damaged in a storm. After the rebuild, they finished it and matched to house color, as they did in the earlier job. Description of Work: Wish I had > 1000 chars to use; here goes: Stripped two large decks (12'x42' and 12'x30'), repaired/replaced/stripped handrails, installed new black-metal balusters (a great suggestion by Bill, to upgrade look of the deck & increase view space between the rails), stripped one staircase & stained all in 1 of 2 color choices. Job was not an easy one. Previous owner had (stupidly) painted decks w/oil-based primer & as the decks are high in the air with plants below, using chemicals to remove old paint was not an option. Others wanted to use chemicals or to paint right over old paint, not stain the deck as we'd desired. Bill worked with us right from the start. Choosing a contractor nowadays often seems to be a roulette game of choosing the lesser evil. Bill is a rare exception & we will gladly use him again in future projects. His attention to detail & thoroughness serve him well in his business now & they ll serve you well too, should you decide to go with Deck Rejuvenations.
