The telephone has a tendency to not work often. The caller ID on the television is not consistent. The announcement of who is calling is also impossible to understand.

My bill with Comcast was never the same, which is why we switched service providers. We never used pay-per-view so they were supposed to give us the same amount every month. I called them and they told me that they were going to fix, but they never did. Also, the quality of their service was different - I never felt that I actually had fiber optics. I would give Comcast a D for overall experience, and I wouldn't use them again.

I chose them because they are one of the few service providers here that provided high speed internet. The experience was okay but I wouldn't say they were exceptional. I don't have any other alternative and I would use them again in the future.

I have had Comcast Internet Service for years and they are completely unable to handle SPAM/Phishing unless you change your email address. You have to provide all the information -- headers, etc. and they still keep passing the stuff through. I now pick up my email on the server so it doesn't come through to my Outlook Express account. Today, I called their service number and hung up after20 minutes and voice that came on telling me how important my call was to them every 30 seconds. PErhpas the PUC will fine them for not hiring anyone who can handle SPAM -- it isn't difficult to spot.
Description of Work: Reported more Spam and Phishing. Tried to call their phone service too. They send inane emails with no help at all. I have making these reports for over a year now with no satisfactory response. The 3 questions above are really not applicable because I tried to use their customer service reporting - since Angie's List require those I put in some data.

We canceled with them because they customer service was bad and it took several times to get them to fix things properly. We were totally disappointed with them. There was nothing good about them.

Having discovered that my old VCR was basically useless w/ the new digital signal, I had tried to figure out what sort of digital video recorder would work and what it needed. I was quite frustrated. Today, as I pulled in the driveway, I found Comcast technician Erik Gordon and 1 of his coworkers about to leave. I told them my problem and asked what I needed. They cheerfully told me what my options were, and Erik offered to install a Comcast rental DVR within the hour. The stated price was lower than I expected. Erik came to my door, did the installation, explained all of the functioning of the remote control, and was done, within the hour! He could have tried to sell me a variety of services I didn't need, and specifically did not do so. He is without doubt the most cheerful and efficient technician I've encountered!

We get about 80 channels, but we opted out from getting channels such as, HBO and Cine Max. The on demand features are pretty good, but there is a lot on the list that requires a fee to watch. It is like teasing you with a little, and the ones that you really want to watch, you need a subscription for them.

I think that the package that we are on allows us to use the internet at spends of up to 6 gigabytes. I also think you can get speeds up to 8 gigabytes, but that would cost you more. It is pretty good and is definitely faster than a dial up access. The only down side is that at around 3 o'clock everyday the internet slows down. That's when everyone getting back from schools or work log on to the internet, and you know that is the slowest time of the day. Apart from that, I have been happy with the service.

It is pretty much an unlimited long distance calling plan. You also get features such as, call waiting, caller ID, and service over the internet. You do have a true 911 service which is nice; instead of it being like a rational call, where they ask you where you're calling from. That usually happens when you are calling from a local booth. I have never had any issues with their phone service, be it any down time, or glitches while talking on the phone. The bills have been correct too.

I really don't watch a lot of television. But we get all of the basic channels, and my husband loves watching the sci-fi channel. We've generally been happy with Comcast. The cable went out a few times due to weather issues, but they seem to fix it quickly. The cable doesn't go out as often as when we used to have satellite television.

I am thinking about changing. The picture is beautiful. They used to be able to fix things over the phone. My mute button didn't work and the girl asked for the number on my remote and it was fixed right over the phone. That is pretty good actually.

Bad. Comcast continues to refuse responsibility for dropping internet connection.
Description of Work: I've used Comcast for over 10 years, first for Cable television and then for both internet and digital phone. I have two experiences with Comcast that are less than desirable. The first is that the price for the three-bundle service has creeped up to over $150 through the years. In addition, there are several fees that are added to the bill that change. When I ask for explanations of the fees, I get differing definitions. I think these fees should be included in the price of the service. My second issue has been more difficult. Throughout the years, I lose connection to the internet. I make a service call and it usually goes like this: 1. Unplug the modem. 2. Reboot the computer. 3. Doesn't work. 4. Unplug the modem again. 5. Disconnect the router from the circuit. 6. Reboot the computer. 7. Reset the modem. 8. Doesn't work. 9. Comcast tells me there is something wrong with my equipment. 10. Go to Fry's and buy new modem and new router. 11. Start again at the top. It takes hours and I still have intermittent service from Comcast. The last time they told me it was my equipment, it wasn't. In other words, the Comcast tech on the phone had me remove the router from the hookup and directly plug the computer into the modem. No internet -- at that point, the Comcast tech did something on the Comcast side, and the internet returned. I think that Comcast likes to blame their customers for intermittent internet connections when the problem is with Comcast. I find this highly unprofessional.

The price noted is per year. Internet service is excellent. It is the fastest internet service I have received. Most of the time when there is a problem it is in the equipment I own, and they help me identify the problem and fix it (usually by rebooting or replacing defective equipment). The price is reasonable for such fast internet, in my opinion. You can pay less for much slower internet through another company. Their own website is clumsy but adequate and I use it only for billing.

HD quality of Video on Demand is not as good as an ordinary standard DVD. Quality of non-HD material on Video on Demand and on regular channels is low, the picture is never sharp. Some HD channels are very sharp, and the difference between these channels and HD Video on Demand is striking. On Friday and Saturday evenings Video on Demand often does not work, the system is overloaded. Their billing is overly complex, an obvious effort to cause confusion and overspending by consumers. They also make errors in billing and I often have to call them to straighten things out.
Description of Work: "Preferred Plus" cable package, including "Video on Demand" with HBO, Starz, and Encore in HD. The "cost figure" I wrote is for 12 months. Then after this year they and I agreed to change my service to the "Premier" package, but then they didn't do it and their bill for the same service rose 20% to the rate of $200/month = $2400/year.

Periodically the internet service will go down. I didn't find their phone support that helpful, but they did send someone out once to help me get up and running again. I've discovered that I can just reset the modem myself (although I was told by the initial installer not to do this). I've also hooked up my own net gear wireless router to their modem without too much difficulty which is nice if you are laptop user. I think that even with the bundle, they are a bit overpriced. I'm waiting for Verizon Fios to come my neighborhood and give them some competition.

Very negative experience. I was told by a technology service that all I needed to do was get a microchip card for the TiVo, and they would install. Comcast refused to give to me and insisted on a house call. I asked in advance what needed to be set up for them to do the work, and I was told nothing. When the person arrived, he advised he couldn't do the work because the TV was not set up, and he left, disgusted with me. I think had to reschedule the installation, do a set up I was told I did not have to do, reschedule with Comcast. and then rearrange my work schedule for it. It cost me a lot in time and aggravation. I did not ultimately pay for the house call due to my complaints about the process.
