Overhead Door Company of Tulsa - Residential

My garage door came off the rails on Saturday morning and would not close. Most providers are only open M-F, but Overhead Door has an afterhours number on their answering machine. I called and got the repair scheduled for that day. The tech explained that he had another call then could come to me. Within a couple of hours, he was at my house. He had everything set back up and the garage door working smoothly in no time. The price was extremely reasonable for afterhours work. I'll definitely call them again if I need my garage door worked on.

When I called him, he was out within 45 minutes. I would not use anyone else for garage doors period. He was awesome and I would recommend him to anybody, and it worked better than it did.

I had a busy day planned and first thing that morning the garage door spring broke. My truck was stuck in the garage and I couldn't go anywhere. I called them and they were there in 45 minutes and fixed the springs. I had them replace the rollers too, since my doors were 10 years old. I had a question after the fact and the owner called me back himself and answered my questions. I've used them for 17 years now, and wouldn't call anyone else.

A spring broke in our garage door rendering it unusable. I called Overhead door at approximately 9:30 AM on October 30th, and my garage door was fixed and useable by noon the same day. That is superior customer service. The technician was very friendly and my garage door works great.

They were very good. I liked them. I highly recommend them. They didn't charge me anything. They just did the work, made some adjustments, and that was it. I will definitely use them again. They were very honest. He told me that the garage door opener was on its way out. It was on its last leg so I agreed with him. He said he can install a new garage door opener but it will be double hundred bucks. It would be cheaper for me to just go to Home Depot and get a Home Depot variety for $70, and be done with it so I appreciated that. That was good.

It went better than I would ever have expected.

I think the turnaround time was great for 2 different things. When it came off the track, it was really quick for them to come and fix it. The demeanor of their staff was fine. They were professional.

Garage Door was permanently deformed from a wind burst of approximately 100 MPH. Overhead?s Doors service representative discussed several solutions and their cost to implement in a clear and understandable manner. I choose my desired solution. The door was in stock. It took one day to replace the door which is of higher quality and extremely quiet to operate. Service man was: Fast. Neat. Did a through clean up, could not even tell that work had been done.

They said they could not guarantee that they could come after 3 and on several occasions they did not show. When I asked them why they could not have a technician meet us at 3, they said that if their techs finish their assignments earlier in the day, they cannot keep them around for appointments later in the day. We quit calling them and called another company listed on Angie's list.

They were on time, they were quick and got the job done. It was good.

Our garage door would not completely close or open. The technicians came out the same day and replaced the large spring on the door. They were professional and courteous and we were very pleased with the prompt, efficient service. We would recommend them to anyone.

Great service! The spring on our garage door broke and the door jammed, trapping cars inside. I called them on Saturday morning, they gave a time that they expected to be there, and called to inform me that the previous job was taking longer then expected. When he did show (which was almost exactly per his last call), he assessed the problem, had the correct parts and tools in his truck, and quickly repaired the door.

Called in the morning, they advised they could get there today. Called early PM to advise technician on his way. Lloyd arrived in about 20 minutes. Assessed problem. Suggested one rather than the old version requiring two springs, advised would last longer and be less expensive. Got his tools and in 30 minutes he was finished. Great attitude, service and skills.

No story just stold my money and never showed up.

I contacted Overhead Doors. Shane came out same day. He took my coupon and gave me an estimate. He looked at my existing door, motor, etc. I asked him to give me a while to get the money together because I wanted to pay cash. Even though it took more than a month he honored the coupon (expired) and the estimate. I had been told by another company I would need a new motor as well as a new door. But Shane said no - my existing motor was just fine. I appreciated his honesty in not trying to sell me something I did not need. Less than a week later, the installation occurred. Their worker was courteous, quiet and cleaned up the mess. Shane had suggested a color other than white and I loved it!! It looks so much better than the old white one. My house is a Spanish style blond brick with darker brown trim. He has a great eye for color because he matched the color perfectly. Shane also gave me his cell number for any problems. I called him a couple of months after the installation because my house is settling, he came out no charge and adjusted the door. Lately I called again and he came out no charge and discovered the sensors were bad. He told me if I bought them ($5-$10) He would put them in no labor charge. I am so pleased with Overhead Door. They really believe in service before and after the sale!!

At the end of June, I had a new garage door opener installed by this company at a cost of $400. The installer was in & out in less than 40 minutes, and I was very happy with the new opener and how quiet it was. Everything was working OK for about 5-6 weeks, when the garage door got stuck halfway up & wouldn't open. Even after disengaging the opener, the door wouldn't open due to some cables coming unspooled. I had to call the after hours number on a Friday evening because not only could I not get my truck out of the garage, I couldn't close the door at all, it was stuck halfway up, and I couldn't leave it that way all weekend where anyone could enter my garage. When the on call technician came, he said, in his opinion, the possible reason for the failure was that the spring tension wasn't adjusted when the new opener was put in. However, he said he had to charge me the emergency service call fee of $135, but I should call the company on Monday to discuss.I have called the company 4 times since Monday and have left 4 messages for the owner, Robert Hines, as he is the only person who can handle customer service issues. I can't believe that a company like this has only one person, the owner, that can handle customer complaints. That would be fine if he would return calls, but he doesn't answer calls-always get his voice mail-and refuses to return the calls. I left 3 voice mails and 1 paper message and was told by the person that no one else could help me, only him. But he WON"T RETURN CALLS. In my opinion, his customers just aren't that important to him. It is my understanding that the residential division was sold off from the commercial division. I don't know how long Mr. Hines has owned the residential portion of the company. I have done business with this company on & off for 20 years and have not had problems until now. That $135 is the last of my money they will ever see. There are plenty of garage door companies that I'm sure would be happy to have new customers. ***UPDATE***Much to my surprise, I was sent a refund of 1/2 of the emergency service call. I never did get a phone call addressing my problem though.
