Handyman Extraordinaire

The person sent from Handyman Extraordinaire is where the problem was. I believe this person was li Ed up but not an actual employee of that company. He didn't call when he said he would nor did he get me information when he said he would. I think he just proved to be unreliable I would give Handyman Extraordinaire another chance. I hope they don't send this guy on another job. It was a large job that I just cancelled before he was to show up.

The craftsman, Mark McNeely, did and excellent job. We will asked him to do any other work we need to have done. That should tell you enough!

Overall it was a good experience, and I would recommend. My only complaint is that on the original date of the work, the contractor arrived too early. When I came home on-time, he was already gone, and the work had to be postponed 48 hours.

Once I called to get an estimate it took almost 10 days before Brad could come out due to his busy schedule. He fully explained my repair options and quoted the repair on site. I called 2 days later to authorize the repair. It was then another week before he could begin the work. He showed up on the day he committed to being there and completed the repair in one day. The work was excellent and the price was much lower than the 2 other quotes I received. I am extremely pleased with the work that was performed.

Very good experience with Mike. He met me in the evening after work in order to give me an estimate. The estimate was much less than I had expected, so I added a repair to my chimney which he had estimated at about 1/3 of the cost estimate from another company. We agreed upon the deal and he showed up a couple days later as promised and finished the job within 3 to 4 hours. Everything looks and works like new again. He came back a couple days later to touch up the sheet rock work after it had time to dry. I will definitely use him again when we need something done.

I contacted them because of their previous reviews. I did not do the job yet because I had something come up and they decided that the electrical work I wanted them to do would be better done by a licensed electrician. So I just decided to wait. They were very courteous, came out quickly and were very knowledgeable. They are dependable and come out when they say they are going to and get you the quote when they say they are going to. I may use them again in the future.

Ted came out and put up the fan and went up into the attic and anchored the fan to a beam. When he was finished he cleaned up the mess.

The carpenter, Jimmie Radcliffe, did a great job. We worked around each others' schedules and he was very professional. I will call him again if I need repairs.

Initially we had a missed connection, however, after we straightened that out, things went very smoothly.Mike came by and gave me an estimate on the job, but as we discussed the issue, he suggested that perhaps he could build something that would catch the mail, instead of installing the gate (which would require hardware installation in the wall). I was all for that idea (I'd thought of that in the past, but assumed it couldn't be done and had given up on the idea). So he took the project home and worked on coming up with something that would work and look good as well. He called today and said that he couldn't get anything put together that would work and look good. Since he wasn't able to do this, he went out of his way to find places that would sell a gate that didn't require hardware installation (held up by pressure). By doing this, he was essentially cutting himself out of a paying job. I'm thrilled that he took into account what was best for my circumstances, and wasn't out there only to make a buck. Customer satisfaction is obviously important!

He was very honest, reliable and did an excellent job. He was very clean, kind and had good character. He did exactly what he said he was going to do and more. He fixed a small plumbing issue at no charge. I will use him again in the future.

HMX sent Brad from the company. He called and set up a time for an estimate, was there at exactly the time we agreed upon. Gave me a very reasonable estimate and a date that he would return. He called exactly the time he said he would and arrived promptly at that time. He accomplished everything on the estimate in a very timely manner. I was very pleased with the work.

Overall, the job went really well. We got the work done. He came out when he said he would. He gave a good estimate and the price came in exactly to what the estimate was and didn't go over and that was the best thing. He was on time and cleaned up after himself. I would surely use him again in the future if necessary.

They were alright. They provided regular service. The repair is holding up well. It is working fine now.

Mark McNeely performed all of the repairs. He was very customer-oriented and performed all of the work in around 2-3 hours. He did a really good job on the gate he built and on the one he repaired. After he had hung the ceiling fan, I decided I didn't like the model I had purchased. Mike removed the ceiling fan he had just installed and came back the next day to hang its replacement. He didn't add any additional labor charges for the extra trip and hanging the ceiling fan twice. I was very pleased with all of the work performed. As it happened, my garage refridgerator and a chest-type freezer had both gone off the day he returned to hang the ceiling fan. He tested the electric recepticals carrying both units and determined a reset outlet was bad. He was able to replace it with parts he had in his truck. Once again, he didn't charge me anything for the extra service.

I used him only once and it was most to do with small things like the fixtures in the ceiling that didn't work; some woodwork on my wooden stands and plumbing fixture that needed to be smothered. I was pleased that he called me and told me he could not do one of the electrical things, instead of trying to do it and not doing a good job. He told me he had looked at it and it was above what he could do.

All work was completed as stated by Mark. He was curteous and prompt.

Simple job but quality looked good and would use them again for similar projects.

We had several estimates, of which Mark's was the least expensive Based on other good reports from Angie's List, we decided that taking the lowest bid probably was not too risky. It wasn't. He came two days later and completed the work on a Saturday morning. He consulted with us about the precise positioning we wanted, and everything looks really nice

Went OK. He had to reschedule from 10am till 1pm but that wasn't a big problem. He was polite and did most of the work I had requested (forgot 2 drawers).

We needed a display board which would be a teaching game for the international kids festival. Our criteria were simple but our design input was vague at best. In a matter of days, Jimmie met with us, described options to help us with our decisions and the delivered a sturdy, neat looking, 7' , kid-proof game board, complete with hardware and design details, that we'll be able to use for years to come. Pleasing a committee is not easy, but all are thrilled.

I called the office ~ 2:00pm. They said that a handyman would come out ~ 4:30pm to give an estimate. Gave estimate first then when approved went right to work. Mike called before coming, arrived on time, was polite and respectful, completely cleaned up afterwards. Everything was completed the same Saturday that I called the office. I will definitely call this company again.

Brad did an excellent job. Quality and craftsmanship was class A. He was able to repair the original block foundation saving several hundred dollars. The work he did matched very well to the original...down to the tongue and groove pine deck that none of the other bidders wanted to do. Would use him again with no hesitation. Went above and beyond with the finishing, even doing some extra work that wasn't in the bid. Estimate was right on target. He wasn't the cheapest bid, but the best quality work never is.

Mike did a great job -- he was very professional and responsive. I would definitely use him again.

Contacted him and explained that we needed to have an outlet moved before our contractor showed up to reinstall our microwave. He came on moments notice and performed the work needed that would allow a shelf that was just below the outlet to be moved to a higher position. He even took time to go to a hardware store to get a white colored GFI plate to go with our white cabinets.
