Description of Work: It took several weeks to get him to come out and get an a quite. I did not end up using this company due to the bid being 3x what it should have been. He was also very short with me and acted as if he did not even want the job. I ended up using someone else.

Mid summer is our busy season. I explained to him that there is no one that exclusively gives estimates and I catch them as I am in different parts of town. Never met this man. Drove out to his house, looked at his job and gave him a price over the phone and left a written estimate. He told me he thought I was too expensive and acted offended at my price. The estimate was free and he was under no obligation to use us.

Description of Work: Baxter repaired my brick chimney which was losing bricks due to flacking. The chimney was in bad shape. I believed I was going to have to replace the whole chimney. Mr Baxter provided advise and two quotes (full replacement or stucko). Full replacement would have doubled the cost. Mr Baxter could have easily taken advantage of the situation and only quoted the full replacement. To make the stucko blend with the brick, he painted the stucko and drew in a brick pattern for an extra $500; it looks amazing. I would recommend him to anyone with a masonry job. He was great, honest and polite.

Description of Work: Mr. Baxter returned my call just as he said he would in his message when you call his number. He also came out and gave an estimate promptly. My impression is that he does great masonry work. I just happened to find a contractor who was able to provide masonry work and handyman work (I needed both), so I hired him instead. If I just needed masonry work done in the future, I would give Mr. Baxter a try.

Description of Work: Made repairs to the mortar between the brick facia over our garage door that was cracked due to suspected improper construction (support steel over garage door not adequately tied in to the structure). Performed an excellent job in matching the mortar so the repair is almost invisible.

Description of Work: We had quite a bit of repointing work done. He did a wonderful job on everything and stuck to his quoted price even though there was probably more done than was first expected. There was rotten wood under several of the vents under the house and he replaced them with new ones and repaired the fallen bricks. He reset the two chimneys and the morter is a very close match to the original color from 1929.

He patched all exterior cracks in the brick walls of the house over a period of 4 days. At times he had to remove caulking put there by a previous owner in order to replace it with mortar. I can tell most of the places he worked on solely because I remember where the cracks were. He also had to replace some bricks in a planter adjacent to the front of the house. I don't know how, but he found matching bricks. (The bricks used to build the house in 1965 were compressed / reclaimed and are somewhat unusual.) He also rebuild the back wall of the fireplace. That job was done well but more quickly, taking only one day. I tipped him on both jobs, as I felt he was undercharging.
Description of Work: Tuckpoint work was done on all exterior walls of the house, as well as repair to brick planters adjacent to the house. He was very good. He also rebuilt the back wall of the fireplace.
