 + -1 moreJeff Baxter was terrific! He messaged me back the same day that I submitted a quote request, and was on site just 3 days later! He took a look at the repair needed and gave an honest and decent estimate, and was able to fix it the same day.

 + 0 moreMr. Baxter was extremely difficult to reach. In June, he said he would come by the next week to look at the job and provide an estimate. He didn't show up and over the next 5 weeks did not return a single phone call. He suddenly just showed up at the house, quickly looked at the chimney and provided an estimate. While it is completely understandable that this is a very busy time and Mr. Baxter is probably covered up with work, it is inexcusable to fail to return phone calls. Customers and potential customers should be treated with more consideration and respect. We ended up going a different route and did not hire.

 + -1 moreThe bricks had began to fall away from my house. I called Jeff, I thought he would have to take the wall down and rebuild, I expected to pay thousands. Jeff installed "pins" in my wall, pulled the bricks back into place and he repaired the cement. Looks amazing and only cost $500.

 + 2 moreCalled Jeff to setup an appointment and we played phone tag for a couple of days. Once we were able sync up we scheduled an estimate and setup a date to complete the work. Jeff was a professional through out the process. The work completed was detailed and thorough.
Description of Work: Jeff completed stone work on my fireplace interior and exterior. Jeff also repaired various gaps around stones on the exterior of the house and the back porch.

His questions indicated the level of expertise and knowledge that I wanted in a mason. He was proactive in following up with me to schedule our appointment, without being pushy. He was very professional and very pleasant. We will use his company again, when we need stone or brick work done.

 + -1 moreMy Chimney leaked water into my fireplace when it would rain. I live in a very old brick home and with time my chimney began to have mortar issues and the mortar needed to be repaired. Baxter Stone & Brick Repair Co. did an excellent job! They were here on time, worked very hard all day, were very nice people, cleaned everything up when they were done. It has rained since the repair and my fireplace has remained dry !!! These guys were great and I am very pleased!

 + -1 moreWhen I first called him for a quote, he came out promptly to deliver it. He also brought with him a temporary mailbox so that we didn't have to go to the post office everyday. That was a big help! He was able to start as soon as the rain let up. He was very professional and always kept me informed of when he would be here and he would call back if he were running late when purchasing supplies. It was very refreshing.
Description of Work: Our stone and brick mailbox was hit by a truck and was totally destroyed. Jeff came out and repaired it to better than its original condition. I was very impressed with his work.

Also, he tries his best to match the mortar/grout so that repairs do not stand out as much. Overall, I am very pleased and satisfied with his work. He is a one-man show and is very thorough. He is worthy of a referral for sure.

The work looks great. He kept me informed every step of the process, and always showed up when he said he would. I would definitely recommend him.

 + -1 moreAfter an email exchange and phone call, Jeff Baxter came out on 03 July to give me an estimate to cut out, clean, and repair myriad small cracks in the masonry around the cosmetic stonework above the garage door. He gave me an estimate of $400; said he do the work in one-half day; and would be back to do the work on Monday, 07 July. On Monday morning Jeff called to say he was enroute; showed up on time; did the work for the price he quoted; and cleaned up everything. He's a good man, works quietly and efficiently, does what he says he's going to do. Jeff's work looks perfect, and he did it for one-half the price quoted by others for the same job.

 + -1 moreAnother masonry company had repaired our brick walkway and steps previously. When we had our first ice and snow storm, we sprinkled a handful of salt on the walkway. The newer mortar disintegrated into sand. We called Baxter for an estimate. He came promptly, explained the issue, and gave us a very reasonable estimate. As soon as the weather cooperated, he came on a weekend to do the repairs. He worked both Saturday and Sunday, and then came out Monday got clean up. Our walkway looks better now than even when we bought the house. Plus, he was true to his original estimate. I wish I could give an A+.

 + -1 moreMr Baxter called me back and went right to the site and called me. We discussed the possibilities of how to repair the garage wall. I wasn't sure we could afford the bottom price if the total wall had to be replaced. The property belonged to my Mother and we were trying to get the best price for the least amount. Mr Baxter was very nice and I was impressed with his prompt reply. We just couldn't justify spending too much for this piece of property. I would definity call him for use if the chance arose.

He saved us a good deal of money by being able to straighten a five foot high bridk post, to which the entire wall was tied, rather than demolish the post and rebuild it as we believed was necessary.
Description of Work: Repaired chimney cap and several loose tiers of bricks; Also took down an ornamental brick wall and redid it from the ground up.

Description of Work: I have an older home that was built in 1928. In that era deeply textured stucco walls known as "jazz plaster" was very popular. There were various materials and techniques utilized by craftsmen to create the desired effect, but few people today, apparently, know exactly how it was done--or at least that seems to be the case. Over the years water seepage through brick in the chimney had damaged the interior wall above the fireplace, causing it to bulge out. Baxter repaired the wall but was unsuccessful in recreating the texture of the original surface. He was not pleased with the final result and regretted not being able to do a better job. Despite that, I am happy with the repair, but will continue to look for someone who can more closely duplicate the surface of the original stucco.
