Manny is very good at explaining what is causing the problem and what the options are. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to others.

Dragging a 100' snake down basement stairs is a chore - and one that usually carries an additional cost; but not from About Plumbing! I watched as Mannie fed nearly the entire 100' into the clogged drain. Although he brought up several huge clumps of roots, the drain still did not open. Mannie said he would return the next day, with some kind of additional "cutter," and run the snake again, with the promise that if the drain did not clear, he would not charge me. He returned. No joy. And no one - a friend who is a civil engineer is doing some work on my house, and he was in on the investigation - can figure out where that drain leads. New sewer line was laid in the street in front of my house a couple of years ago, which is where all the updated plumbing connects, but there is also a very old manhole cover behind my house. Both are withing 100 ft. of the basement drain, so instead of spending a lot more money with cameras and cutters, and understanding the expense of replacing sewer line even when the plumber an engineer know where it is, Mannie's suggestion of a sump pump is - at least so far - brilliant, and by far the least expensive solution. And since the only thing that floods the drain is laundry, it won't big deal if the electricity goes out. Can't do laundry then. anyway. The job took a bit longer than expected, in part due to my being ill, having guests, etc. But Mannie was always in communication with me, and did everything he said he would do. The quality of his work is excellent; his care and attention to make sure I understood the process from start to finish extremely helpful; and he's just a very fine gentleman to do business with!!

Problem- sewage backing up into bathtub with toilet flush in the spare bathroom. Although a new customer, Manny made time for me immediately. He came out, asked pointed questions, and explained his plan. Attempted to snake out blockage - but something was stuck tight. Because of prior appointments and a complex problem, he discussed different options and prices for a return appoitnment. Although he worked hard for over an hour and made a long trip out, he did not charge me for this first attempt at fixing the problem. He came back as scheduled and did the work we agreed on. He took the time to make sure I understood every step and consulted me prior to beginning any work. He charged me exactly as he quoted. Have one more appointment to remedy the problem for good - but I know what to expect. This turned out to be a BIG problem - but I have confidence in Manny that he will fix it for good! Can't ask for a more honest, upfront professional.

He ran the snake, and then he checked both toilets flushing (a separate issue that he didn't charge for). He ended up adjusting one of the toilets water levels. I appreciated his additional help in making sure everything was working correctly.

I'm glad we checked into Angie's List. For just a few bucks, we were able to find the right plumber the first time. (Our neighbor, unfortunately, did not do so well. They had a plumber in recently; he came, he worked, he charged, he left -- they still have their problem. They plan to call our plumber to fix their plumber's mess.)

He did a really good job, He showed up on time and worked real hard. We figured out what the problem was and he fixed it. He worked his butt off. He had to big a deep hole down into the slab to find the pipe. It was a good experience. The price was really good. He got the hole filled up to where it was supposed to be. He got it all fixed and there was no problem after that. I would definitely use them again.

Manny is the guy who came out. He is pretty fair and pretty good. He quoted me $2100. It seems to be a one-man company. He was honest about everything upfront. He was busy working with other things. It was a pretty good price compared to others. He didn’t do anything other than giving me an estimate and he was there on time as well. I would use him again.

Since my last posting I have used About Plumbing a couple of more times. On both occasions he was prompt, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. His rating has improved in my book.

The main reason I joined Angie's list was to find a reputable plumber. Through the past several years I have used plumbing companies in Tulsa that were well recognized, assumed to be professional and honest, but that was not my experience, three of them in particular. As I perused Angie's list those 3 companies were not considered at all. I next deleted companies that were not bonded, insured, or liscensed. From the remaining list, I chose Manny Vasquez, owner of About Plumbing. Although my main need was to get the washing machine to drain, Mr. Vasquez tested it at length and there was no draining problem. His recommendation was not to work on it because he believed there was no problem. He was right. The washing machine is draining just fine and I thank him for not doing work that was not needed and charging me for it. Additionally, Mr. Vasquez educated me on things I might have done that would have caused a one time draining issue. The next concern was the kitchen sink. Mr. Vasquez cleared the clog...and it was a bad one. He also pointed out to me, without blame or criticism of other professionals in his trade who had repaired my kitchen drain in the past, that they had used pipe that did not even fit the original pipes. He fixed that at no additional charge. My third issue was that I needed a new garbage disposal. Mr. Vasquez educated me on the choices available, the horse power needed for my home use, called the plumbing supply company while I was present, and quoted to me very reasonable costs for a new disposal. Futhermore, he picked up the disposal (saving me the turmoil of trying to do it myself at Lowe's or Home Depot), showed me the brand new packaging, unit, and warranty. It was installed in less than an hour and that concluded my experience with Mr. Vasquez. All of this was done for $237, including the cost of the new disposal. It is with great satisfaction that I can tell other users of Angie's list how comforting it is to finally find an honest and knowledgable plumber.

Did a good job at a fair price. Mr Vasquez did what he came for plus he cleaned up a botched job done earlier by a different company.

He was okay but it wasn't great. He did do the job that I asked him to do. It was kind of difficult to get him to figure out what I wanted. I wanted him to put in a bypass cleanout for one of my drains and he just did not get around to that but he did clean out the drain. He gave me a price for cleaning out the drain instead of bringing everybody out. I would recommend him to others.

He did exactly what he said he would and charged me a fair price. He explained what he was doing and why he did it and answered all my questions. He gave me a written contract but took care of minor problems when they came up without making a fuss. Manny is a prize.

I found my kitchen sink stopped up, with water filling the sink and it wouldn't drain. I called "About Plumbing" who was recommended to me by a friend. The plumber worked me into his "next-day" schedule, which I considered a prompt response. He called me when he was on the way to my house, he was courteous and efficient, and he cleaned up beneath the sink when he was finished.
