Although there were a few problems with scheduling, ultimately the job got done and the results are very nice. Due to the overwhelming number of people needing new fences after the tornadoes, plus several days of rain which set them behind schedule, I understand the delays, and I doubt if I would have had better luck with anyone else. The #1 reason I chose this company (in addition to the good ratings on Angie's List) was they will put up a "temporary fence" for those with dogs! No other company I had called made that offer and it really helped. Also, they build the fence panels on site; they do not use pre-assembled panels, which I feel is a huge plus. Very few companies that I called built their own panels on site. Rick Kelley came out (with some help) and got the old fence removed and new posts set over the first weekend. The following Friday a crew of two showed up to install the rails and fence, ( not Rick Kelley, but they explained that they had added crews due to the amount of work they had). I admit that I didn't like some of the wood they were using (cracked, big knot holes, etc) - but they agreed to take the boards I didn't like down and replaced them with better ones. Rick came back the next day and built the two gates (gorgeous) and finished everything up. All this was done, by the way, in 100 degree heat... these guys work hard! The fence looks great and is incredibly strong. The lines are straight and square. I will even admit, although I was not happy initially with the quality of some of the pickets or rails, now that it is up it looks really, really good. The wood is beautiful and the contrast with the darker cedar rails really stands out. Their rails are a true 2x4, not like some of the cheaper fences I see. Compared to other fences that have recently gone up, I think this fence looks superior in every way. Mr Kelley also "makes it right" if you are even the least bit unhappy about even the littlest thing. He is very easy to deal with and I am an EXTREME perfectionist (I know I drove them crazy). I highly recommend this company! You may have to wait to get on their schedule, but it is worth the wait.

They gave me a timeline of 2-3 weeks to start. They started at the last day of the third week. I had to call them a few times to see when they were going to start and throughout the process of getting this job done. They put in the posts the first day and took another week to come back out to finish the fence after they said they would return in a day or two. I noticed the posts for the gate were placed for a 3' gate. I had requested a 4' gate Apparently the first crew had not read the contract. A week later the second crew came out and began placing the stringers and pickets. They moved the post and built the gate which was still only 3' 7" wide. In the process of moving the post to widen the gate they cut my TV cable. After getting the cable company to repair it took another 10 days to show up and move the post again and build a 4' gate as required. The fence is beautiful and straight which is one reason I didn't give them a much lower score. The second reason is that I know contractors are very busy with the storms that had come through this area 3 or 4 months ago. Mr Kelley did apologize for the delays and other problems and made some personnel corrections.. For that reason I would use Rick Kelley Fence again.

It was difficult to contact them. They came out and did a good job. They missed bracing a gate and came back out and took care of it ASAP. I would use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was $99 and they came out and gave me a quote of a different amount. I told him that I would let it go and a week later they called me back to schedule it. I told them that I wasn't sure. They requoted me and it was a much smaller amount. They did the work and it was okay. His original quote was close to $1,000 and I paid $300. I liked the work they did. I didn't like that they seemed to be a little disorganized. They had some communication problems between the sales staff and the office.

everything went well, had a rain delay, we purchase 6inch x 7/8 cedar fence, the crew had to hand dig all the holes because of power and phone lines, everything was done to our satisfaction, we are very pleased and would use them again

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was just okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I might use them again.

Rick Kelley fence did a great job! They were professional and completed the job with no hangups. They are very busy and were delayed due to rain a couple of days but they got it done in about a week. I had to wait about 2 weeks before they could get started as they were swamped with business after our May storms which is understandable. With a little patience on my part, I got exactly what I wanted.

Matt Hanks came out right on time. He was very professional, courteous, and very helpful. He is definitely someone you would want to do business with. We are still getting estimates, but so far they have won our business hands down. We received all our estimates and by far Rick Kelley Fence was the best. Mr Kelley himself installed our fence. What a beautiful fence we have now. I would recommend them to everyone.

I found them in Angie's List. I like everything about them. Their quality was just very good!

estimate was quick and painless, the technician looked over all the posts and came to the conclusion that only 3 need to be replaced, and I need a new gate, they are backlogged at this time, but they have me set for early july.

Nice young man, but we won't be using their service. It was priced way above anyone else.

We requested an estimate two different times by phone. The first request was rescheduled. My husband came home early from work to make the rescheduled appointment and then company never showed or called. A month later, we tried again, the company set a date and time, they missed the appointment and did not call.

I sent this company an email (through their website) requesting an estimate on adding maybe a few additional stockade fence panels to my existing fence. I have never received a reply via email or by phone (as of May 28th, 2013). My opinion is that since this wouldn't be a "big money-maker" job, unlike the thousands they would receive to install an entire stockade fence, they didn't want to bother....very rude, inconsiderate, and possibly greedy, business courtesy on their part.

They came out on Saturday to demo the old fence and haul it off. On that day, they put a temporary fence to a backyard neighbors yard to contain their dogs. Rick used a small backhoe on tracks to pull the pickets and was nice enough to pull a stubborn stump. They also set the new galvanized posts in mixed concrete. Due to weather, they returned on Friday to put up the cross members and start hanging the pickets. Each picket was hand placed, they did not use a prefrabricated panel. They completed the project the following day.

It was ok, I was expecting more than what they did.

Rick is a great guy, honest and contentious. Ran a little behind due to rough weather at end of April. Finished a couple of days later than originally told. I am tickled pink with my new fence. It is beautiful.

Unbelievably impressed with Rick Kelley fence! I have had the pleasure of having this company do work for me on two different homes during the month of April, 2013. On one occasion I needed a new panel and gate put up within a couple of days due to inspection. Not only was the work done a day ahead of the deadline, but it was done exceptionally well. Being so pleased with the first job I decided to use them again at my residence. I didn't need a lot of work (4-5 poles replaced and some maintenance to the main gate and a smaller gate in the backyard). Here's where I became impressed. Matt was great to work with over the phone and in person. He explained what I needed and was fair in his pricing. When the crew came out to perform the repairs one gentleman suggested that I needed another pole (an additional $100) that Matt hadn't included in his estimate. I asked why Matt wouldn't have told me about it. He proceeded to tell me that he has years of experience doing fence work/repair and that he was certain I needed another pole. It was obvious that he did have experience, and I was inclined to believe him. However upon closer observation he realized that the pole didn't need replaced rather the two different panels just needed to be "tied in" to the existing pole. He was very polite and said well I guess you probably don't need it. Rarely if ever does that happen with any business. I was extremely comfortable with letting this guy work around my house. Experienced and learned yet not so set in his ways that he won't re-evaluate his initial opinion. It gets better. They were supposed to reattach an older smaller gate I had that separates a couple of sections of my backyard. I had to leave for work! My wife called me and said the work was done. I came home and found that they had completely replaced the gate instead of repairing the old one (apparently the old one was beyond repair). There was no additional cost though I'm certain there should have been. I will NEVER use anyone else for fence repair or installation. Rick Kelley fence will get my business everytime!

The crew was behind due to a large contract with one of the local prisons, but still managed prompt service. The fence was put back up in 2 hours and in no way inconvenienced me.

They were disappointed when they found out I did not want to buy their fence. They said they did not want to put somebody's else's fence on their labor. I was disappointed in the results of their estimate when they came out because they kept jumping up and up in price. I had found another place where I could get my stockade fencing much cheaper with still good quality wood to fit within budget.

Rick and his crew are really passionate about doing good work and have the skills to achieve it. The fences were done as requested (if not better than expected), on time and on budget. Get a quote, you will be hard pressed to find a better crew.

The price was excellent, the quality of work was good. I am pleased with the service and will plan to use this company again.

He did a really great job. He's uses really good quality material. He knew what he was doing & has a lot of experience which is why we keep having him back. He was also really good about accepting payment from both neighbors which meant I didn't have to pay for everything & try to collect myself.

I contracted with Rick to perform general maintenance on gates at rental property and to check overall maintenance of the fencing. He understood that though this is a rental property, I wanted to maintain the fence at the quality and level in accordance with the HOA. He appropriately recommended areas that needed to be replaced and those areas that simply needed minor maintenance. He was also flexible with me and the adjacent neighbor to meet all of our needs. He did excellent work for all areas and performed at top standards. Additionally the team who did the repairs were very courteous and their cleanup was perfect.
