Description of Work: We found Ray the painter (a company, not an individual) through Angie's List and they did a beautiful job painting our whole house some years ago. This year we needed some parts touched up because of storm damage. We got a prompt estimate and quick, quality work at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: He came out to give me an estimate on painting my kitchen cabinets. He explained every step and was very professional. We are still trying to decide whether to paint or reface. It seems a little pricey, however they take the doors to the shop and spray them. they also paint the interior of the cabinets which I like the idea of. Refacing doesn't paint inside or shelves. Personally I would like the inside to match the outside. Maybe we will use Ray when we make up our minds.

+ 0 moreThe peaks on our house are large areas, we were concerned about how it would look and we are 100% completely satisfied. Excellent, professional company to deal with. Highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Removed old cedar on 3 peaks, cut and replaced with new cedar siding, also added foam board insulation behind cedar. Painted all trim, peaks, garage door, guttering. Did a fantastic job! They cleaned up all working areas every day and were very quick to finish both the wood work and painting jobs.

Description of Work: Power wash house, scrape and remove loose paint, renail, recaulk, replace several damaged wood areas, paint with high quality Kelly Moore latex flat paint matching the gutters color. Paint indoor large entry hallway with very high ceilings and walls around the stairway to the second story. Repair damaged wall and texture to match the rest of the wall. Strip to remove old stain, restain and seal entry door.

+ -1 moreIt went ok. They estimated that they could start in a week or two, but they also said they would call later to arrange the exact day. One day I came home from work and they had started without calling me. There work was very light duty on prep work without much scraping and no pressure washing at all. There was also some bad communication about whether the house and trim were to be painted one color or two different colors. Overall it worked out ok. I thought I was getting more of a premium prep and restoration job than I actually got. Still, I got a reasonable deal and they finished on time. I'd use them again to paint a rent house or something that I needed a quick inexpensive paint job on. I'd think twice about getting them to "restore" a house that I loved and planned to keep a long time,

+ -1 moreWe had painted the house ourselves twelve years ago, but were no longer able to tackle such a project. Luckily, Ray the painter's crew was available and they performed excellently. The 1979 wood double garage door looked like a new one. Rob and Chris surpassed our prior performance and our current expectations. Besides being skilled painters they were pleasant and cooperative. They got along well with our four rescue dogs and didn't seem to mind the dogs watchful supervision.
Description of Work: Prepped and/or repaired/replaced all wood areas to be painted. Painted wood exterior of house which included eaves (5) and trim, soffits (5), gutters and downspouts, doors (3), double garage door (inside and out), large shutters (6) and storm doors. Estimate was $3,085.00 so final cost was a little below the estimate. We were impressed by Chris & Rob's neatness. At the end of each work day the equipment and materials were organized neatly in an unobtrusive area and covered with a tarp. In spite of the 100 degree + temperatures the job was completed in five half days.

+ 0 moreIt went ok. I thought I was being quoted an excellent, premium job at a discount. I got an average job at an average price. I was not ripped off or cheated, I got what I paid for but I got a little less than I had thought I was getting. I scheduled the work about 3 weeks in advance. They were supposed to call and schedule the exact day of the work later. One day I came home from work and they were already there and working. They didn't do much scraping of the old peeling paint. They didn't use a pressure washer at all. They did an excellent job of re-caulking the windows and re-painting the metal windows. Make sure you understand specifically what prep work they intend to perform. They did a quick and reasonable job for me at a quick and reasonable price. I'd hire them again to paint a house I was selling or wanted a budget paint job on. I'd be hesitant to get them to work on an old house that I wanted to restore to pristine condition.
Description of Work: Paint the exterior of my previous house. Job included prep and replacing one rotten board. I have since sold the house and the paint looked good until the day I sold it.

+ -1 moreAfter starting to work, we identified some changes to our original plan. Ray the Painter never notified us of any change in cost to his original $13,000 bid. After we had paid him some $18,000, we were notified that they would require an additional $12,000 to finish. Our house is only 4,000 square ft. Ray the Painter pulled their crews from our worksite after we informed them that they would be in competion with new painter to finish the remainder of the work, leaving us with an unfinished home.
Description of Work: Ray the Painter came in & did a rough generic estimate to paint the interior of our newly remodeled home. He was also responsible for providing a dumpster for removed materials, i.e. floors, sheetrock, & old cabinetry. After removal, he was responsibile for taping & bedding of new sheetrock (installed by another contractor), texture, wall paint, & cabinet stain.
