It was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with a contractor. They were professional, courteous and on time. What more could you want. Faye in their showroom, was very pleasant to deal with and very helpful in picking out the right color and style for my kitchen. L & L did an excellent job, their prices can't be beat. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting new granite.
Description of Work: L & L Kitchen and Bath took out the old countertops and installed granite countertops in the kitchen. They arrived at 9 am and were finished by 11 am. They were fast, efficient and meticulous about making sure everything was level and looked good. There was a problem with the water supply when they took apart the old sink and it was leaking because of old pipes, they shut off the main water to the house so that it wouldn't continue to leak. This was not their fault, the plumbing was old and fragile.

It didn't take long to get the countertop ordered, made, and installed by L & L Kitchen & Bath. I was pleased with installation. They were fairly quick and their price was less than the other estimates I got from their competitors.

Most important tips 1. Shop around. The exact same Kashmire White granite was $59/sqft at Marble Design of Edmond and $58/sqft at Home Depot. We got it for $38/sqft at LandL! Saved us around $700 overall 2. Empty any drawers and lower cabinets before installation to avoid having to wash all your dishes due to dust. 3. Have your faucet bought before installation so they know what size hole/number of holes to drill in the granite 4. Wait at least 24hrs after countertop installation to have a plumber hook up the faucet. The stone may move slightly and settle in the immediate aftermath, which is normal. 5. Direct all your questions to Faye because the installers spoke almost zero English. 6. Remember to seal the granite to prevent staining. 7. If you are refinishing you existing cabinets as opposed to replacing them with all new ones, make sure you do your countertops first!! 8. Be aware that the location of the store is a bit sketchy. Being a young female totally alone, I was kinda uncomfortable. However, the cheap prices and friendly staff quickly outweighed this negative. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the end product. It was exactly 2 weeks from signing the contract to the installation. The demo and installation only took one half day. I was amazed. I greatly appreciated that LandL does there own demo, unlike Marble Designs in which you have to find a subcontractor. Really?!? We also bought our sinks from LandL. They only sell stainless steel undermount but I was happy with that option. Customers are free to find their own sink but just make sure you have it before they cut the stone so they have the accurate demensions. The installers were nazi's about leveling the granite. My lower cabinets were apparently horribly uneven and they had to add shims and added support. Thank God we decided to refinish our cabinets after the granite and not before because there was about an inch gap between the bottom of the countertop and the top of the cabinet. But this is not LandL's fault but the product of living in an old house. The only negative I have was the mess left afterward. They did try to clean up as best as possible but people, keep in mine that this is construction. And construction leaves a mess. Placing plastic over important furniture and rugs kept my sanity and made clean up easier. Without a doubt I will use LandL in the future. The stone is beautiful and the installation is flawless. Happy happy customer!

I have mixed feelings about this installation. The countertops are beautiful and the installation was done well, but this is the story. I had read all the reviews on Angie's List and decided this would be a good company to go with in order to save some money on this project. Each and every review said that the final cost was quite a bit less than getting the granite and installation from a large hardware center, or from any other companies that specialize in granite countertops. So we went out to the L & L store. They didn't really have a lot of samples to choose from, so they suggested a few places where we could see many, many samples, and then L & L could order what we wanted from one of these other places and do the installation. So we went to two of their suggested places and found exactly what we wanted. L & L ordered the slab of granite for us. We paid for it before they actually placed the order, which was fine. We were told that when you order from another store that you must pay for the entire slab, even if it wasn't all used. So it can be possible that there could be some waste, sometimes a lot of wasted granite. I was very impressed that the gal in L & L drew different plans of how to cut the granite to get the most out of it. If it could be cut a certain way in order to match where a seam would go, there could still be enough left to do the counter in our laundry room. Then there would be very little waste. But, there was a question as to whether the seam could match two pieces in a way that would not be noticeable. The pattern of this particular granite was such that it might be very difficult to make a match. So she said that when the slab came in they would call us to come down and look at it and together we could decide the best way to cut it, or to be sure we liked the way it would be cut, since it really would be difficult to match. All this was quite new to us, so that seemed like a good idea. When they didn't call several days after they had said it would come in and they would call, I called them. At first the gentleman I talked to said that yes, it has come in, but at this time he hasn't had time to look at it yet to see if it will be easy to match where the seam would be, and determine how much of it we could actually use. So we hung up and I had just said "ok". Two minutes later he called back and said that the man who cuts the granite and configures it has already cut it and that it looked ok. Well, I was glad to hear that, but I really didn't like that we were not called when it came in so we could see it and possibly have to make a decision as to whether just do the kitchen because it would make the best match and skip the laundry room, or see that, yes, we could actually do both. Our main concern was the kitchen, we didn't really care if the laundry room got done or not, or if there was a lot of waste or not. We wanted the kitchen to look good above all. So on the appointed day the men showed up, on time, and went right to work. They got it all installed, it is beautiful, and it is in the kitchen and in the laundry room. I think one of the things that I'm really not happy with is the communication, and not just the fact that the two men who came to the house did not speak much English. That was ok, we managed. We had never had countertops replaced before, especially with granite, so had no clue of what to expect. I knew from reading someone else's review to remove things from the drawers. I guess I should have read further and saw that she had said, empty out ALL the cabinets under the counter (common sense, I guess). I emptied the drawers, but not the parts underneath. I have never seen such a mess. After it was all over, I had to remove every single pot and pan, etc, and wash everything. The cabinets were loaded with dust and falling debris from removing the old tops. Also, no one said anything about how much dust would be ALL THROUGH the entire house. Now the dust is in the vents too and when the heat comes on it blows it out. Every morning I can see a coating of dust on all the leather furniture in the family room and on all the tables, etc. I think maybe an information sheet should be passed out to people to give some warning, some tips, on how to prepare for this operation. I was so angry that I wanted to say in this review that if you need to upgrade your kitchen or baths or do heavy duty work like that in your house, it would be easier to buy a new house! So, my biggest gripe is a lack of communication on that subject, and not being called as planned. In the end, yes, we saved a lot of money, but sometimes more professionalism is worth the extra dollars.
Description of Work: Granite countertops were installed along with a new stainless steel sink. The countertops were installed in the kitchen and in the laundry room. When they were done, they hauled off the old countertops. As for my suggestions....if you are inexperienced with having this kind of work done in your home, ask a lot of questions, what do you need to do to prepare, what can you expect? You can learn a lot by reading the reviews on Angie's List.

It went pretty well all in all.
Description of Work: They removed my old countertop and back splash and installed granite countertops and back splash. Over all they did a good job. They did not speak very good English so it was hard to communicate with them. They were very fast and left very fast so by the time we discovered a problem, they were gone. They came back and fixed the problem the same day. They were very reasonable compared to other places I checked into. Home Depot wanted more money for just the countertops. This amount included everything. I would use them again. I absolutely love my countertops.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Can't say enough of how impressed I am. Was replacing my countertops and was between solid surface and granite. All the estimates I got on granite were considerably more $1000-1500 than solid surface (especially the large home improvement stores---stay away from them!!). By chance I saw their store from the highway and stopped in and the gentleman was very nice, courteous and helpful. I told him everything I was after and gave him my measurements and his quote was shockingly about the same price as my solid surface ones. I took a couple samples (and they were almost identical to my others) to check out and was on my way.Called back a few days later and asked how long they were in business and if they had references. I got a hold of a couple and both gave rave reviews. One (builder) said he's used them for about 6 years and invited me out to a recent home of his to inspect the work. It was flawless. From the edging to sink install to the seams. I was that more impressed. I went back to the store ready to purchase and they had 2 guys come out that very afternoon to template my design (about 1 1/2 hours). I put half down at that time.I didn't want a stainless steel sink (That is all they have to offer) so I purchased from elsewhere. When it came in I took it over to them so they could cut the hole and mount. Within 5 days they were here to install. Right on schedule too. Two guys arrived promptly at the time discussed and laid runners down to not track in on the carpet. They came in and tore out my old formica tops, cut the tile backsplashes to accommodate the new tops and the whole time was using a vacuum to keep the dust to a minimum. They cleaned up after themselves too! Very respectful. I had to make a change when hey were there. After removing my old breakfast bar and putting the new one on, even after they regrouted the large and uneven gap at the top of the existing tile backsplash(due to builder not being very patient), I opted to put a granite backsplash in. They measured and took back to shop. She called me back within an hour with price and said they'd be back out today. Couldn't believe it. They had to do some cutting in the driveway, but cleaned up again. They even felt bad dust got on my car and washed it off! I'm serious, these guys are great! All said and done, It took less than six hours to do my breakfast bar, the large J-shaped counter, 2 counters next to my stove and another counter in my laundry room . I not only would recommend these guys to anyone, but I'm telling them to use me as a reference too. I just can't get over not only the quality, but their efforts to clean up after themselves and respect they showed while in my home.
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen formica countertops and haul off.Install new granite countertopsInstall backsplashInstall new sink Make sure to check that your water shut off valves actually work for when they need to remove old sink.Besides taking everything off the countertops, remove all the top drawers, anything out of the bottom cabinets and everything under the sink. They only sell stainless steel sinks, but can accommodate any sink you have. Have your faucet ready since they will need to know how many holes to cut for you (onsite). Also make sure they know WHERE you want your holes before they start to drill. I plan on using a Dupont granite impregnator sealer in about a week. Not sure if it is necessary, but I will feel better knowing I've done the best I can to help seal it to keep from stains.

Sixteen days from giving the first half down payment, the installation crew arrived. There were prompt, arriving before 10:00 and immediately went to work tearing out old cabinet tops and tile. In short order, old was gone, and installation began. The drywall behind the tile had to be replaced, since it crumbled while removing tile. The granite was cut perfectly and only grunting and pushing to get it in place was required. The seams (three in all) were joined to very close tolerances and beautifully matched up. Travertine tile was a fairly simple pattern, using 4 x 4 inch tiles with a 4 square foot accent pattern behind the cooktop and below the range hood.Other than some language difficulties in getting the tiles and accent insert to line up as we wanted, the tiling job went great. The L & L guys did re-set the tile, but it added approximately an hour to the overall job. Work was finished by 7:30 pm, including cleanup. Overall, we could not be more happy. The price was at least $2000 lower than other bids, and the quality is totally first class. Whats not to like about that!
Description of Work: Replaced eight year old solid surface countertops and bar top with granite and a stainless steel sink. Removed and replaced backsplash with travertine tile. Approximately 70 square feet of granite counter tops plus 40 square feet of backsplash were removed and replaced. Hauled off of demolished material.

So, 3 gentlemen from L&L just left my house after installing granite counter tops in the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and the utility room. They also performed some tile work. I felt so strongly about their performance that I immediately sat down to write this review. From coming out to measure/provide estimate...returning to make templates...and through the install, they were top-notch the whole way! Total job took about 8 hours, I was shocked at how well this team worked together. They were punctual, thorough, professional...and I'd swear that team of 3 did the work of 6. There wasn't a lazy or incompetent one among them...I mean these guys work! As far as value...most of their granite is in about the $35 SF range, that's much cheaper than the local home improvement stores. Matter of fact, when they quoted my initial cost for the kitchen, the job was so affordable, I had them quote the rest of the counter tops in the house as well. Everything came out beautiful, I couldn't be happier with the results! I have to admit. quality usually follows cost...but I'd challenge anyone to provide the level of service and quality this team provided...at any price!
Description of Work: Removed/installed 70 SF of 3 cm granite counter tops in the kitchen and another 50 SF of 2 cm granite counter tops in 3 bathrooms and the utility room. Additionally they removed and replaced the back splash tile in the kitchen as well as some outdated tile around my fire place. I purchased sinks and tile from local establishments and provided them to L&L for install.

The 2 men who came to install my gorgeous counter tops and new sink were very competent. I was a little worried because they were both Chinese and therefore English was their second language but we communicated just fine all morning long. They came to my house on time, went right to work tearing down the old counter tops (vacuuming up the construction dust as it happened), very carefully trimming the white tile back splash so they could slide the granite in next to the wall and then installed the new granite counter tops. They cleaned up after themselves, made sure I was happy with everything and left. I would use them again in a heartbeat and since I saved so much money on my kitchen counter tops, I'm seriously thinking of having them install granite counter tops in both of my bathrooms this December. Things to know: 1. They do not undo and redo any plumbing like sinks but NO other company I got estimates from did this either. They did unhook and re-hook my cook top as part of the install. 2. They do not supply any corbels needed to support the weight of the granite in areas such as kitchen bars but again, NO other company I got estimates from did this either. So I bought 3 corbels and they attached them at no extra charge. 3. I've found only one small problem with my new counter tops. After a week, I decided I would apply my own granite sealer since it seemed like the sealant L&L Kitchen & Bath had applied was not stopping water from seeping into the granite. I bought DuPont Stone Tech Professional Impregnator Pro from Granite City, just off I35 near/in Moore because the sales woman at Granite City raved about the product.and because I found good reviews for this product on the Internet. This is such a small quibble with this company. Trust me, spending an extra $35 and applying my own coat of sealer was way better than spending an extra $2500-$4000 with another company!
Description of Work: After pricing granite and Corian-like surfaces all over the metro area, a friend recommended that I visit L&L Kitchen and Bath. I liked the people who initially waited on me and I liked the fact they were a "mom and pop" shop so I made an appointment for them to give me an estimate. They came, they measured, they did the math and then they gave me an estimate that was THOUSANDS of dollars LESS than all the other quotes I got. They also assured me that I could keep my perfectly acceptable white tile back splashes, no problem. This was something no other company would commit to. Everyone else wanted to tear out the back splashes and do something else which I thought was terribly wasteful. But their incredible low price made me VERY nervous. How could they be so much less than everyone else? But my friend convinced me to go with them because her mom and dad had used this company a couple of years earlier and continued to be very happy with their work. I chose a granite, put down a deposit and hoped for the best. They installed the counter tops 8 days later and I LOVE them. And I got those lovely counter tops for way less than I expected to pay.
