They were very thorough. They discovered issues that previous companies had not discovered with regard to the roof and addressed those. The only thing that I disliked is that the owner did not do a final walkthrough of the job himself. He said that he had confidence in his workers and that he was sure that everything was okay. But I would have preferred him to climb up on a ladder, walk around the roof and look at it. They are a good company.

I needed my attic and walls insulated. No other insulation service in the area would insulate my plaster & lath walls, but Moore's was confident it was an easy task. They were absolutely right and did a great job. The owner came over for a quick consult and scheduled the work soon after. An army showed up and, with minimal disruption, got the walls and attic insulated in a couple of hours. The holes in the exterior wood siding were expertly patched. There was no mess left behind. I was very pleasantly surprised that they got my very old, very large house done in so little time with so little hassle. The total cost was quite a bit less than the estimate, because they found that there was less to insulate than they first assessed. I appreciated their honesty in telling me so and reducing the price accordingly, as I wouldn't have known any different. The 10% Angie's List Discount was a nice bonus. Be sure to mention it. This crew are professional and do exactly what they say they're going to do. I'm 100% happy.
Description of Work: Moores insulated my attic and plaster & lath walls with blown insulation. The attic insulation was the usual blown insulation with a high R-value (I don't remember exactly but it was higher than I had planned for DIY). The plaster & lath walls are tricky. Holes are bored into the siding from the outside at both the top and bottom. Insulation is then blown through a small hose to fill the cavity from the top. They repeat the process with the hole at the bottom. It ensures that the space between each stud is comprehensively filled no matter where the cross-stud is situated. Risks are overfilling and cracking the interior plaster, and air pockets causing the insulation to pile up prematurely. Once the cavity is filled, the hole is plugged with a wood "puck" and sealed over with a waterproof wood filler that, once dry, can be sanded, nailed, screwed, stained, painted, etc. This is a project that can go very wrong, so not many insulators will touch it. I called several providers in the OKC metro area who refused the wall insulation job for that reason. Moores appeared to have plenty of experience.

Very knowledgeable and did a great job. Very friendly and willing to take time to explain and answer questions. Father gave the estimate and then son with another worker did the work. They arrived at the scheduled time and even called when they were going to be a little late, and then called again when they were on their way. One of the other reviews mentioned multiple discounts. At this point in time it was one or the other. We are are seniors, mentioned Angie's list, and paid cash. However, the total discount was 10% for which, don't get me wrong, we were very appreciative since it was less than the other estimates we received. Overall, they did a good job and we would recommend them.
Description of Work: Attic was lacking insulation due to a wind storm that came through when the roof line was being extended. It had blown away a great deal of the insulation over the living room and other areas. We also found out that the previous company had put in a thin layer of cellulose insulation (the good stuff) and topped it with much thicker layer of rock wool (yellow which is the lower quality insulation). With winter coming, it needed to be brought up to 50+.

We called and they came promptly to give us an estimate on adding cellulose insulation to our attic. Our attic was severely under-insulated, so we needed quite a lot added. They gave us a great price (much less than some other estimates we got), plus an additional discount for being an Angie's List member. When they showed up to do the work, the guys explained everything they were doing, did a very professional job, and cleaned up after themselves. Highly recommended.

This house is new to me and I was putting a couple of things in my attic when I noticed that I had little to no insulation in the attic. I had been told by the inspector that I had the minimum required amount, but it did not appear that way to me. I contacted a company and asked for an estimate. This company had to come to the house for the estimate. Upon arrival, which they were late, he barely got in the attic and quoted me a price that was double Moore's price. The price seemed excessive and they were only adding R-30. There was no mention of a guarantee and no mention of ventilation. I looked at Angie's List and noticed that Moore's Roofing and Insulation had great reviews and they seemed reasonable. I emailed to ask about obtaining an estimate. I received and email estimate within 2 days and was blown away by the bargain prices. There was not high pressure sale, just facts. I called the company. The office manager was very nice and helpful. She explained everything in more detail and we set an appointment date. I was having them install R-45 with two turbines for 1/2 the price of the other company. They offered Angie's List members a discount, plus a discount if you paid cash versus credit card. What a deal. On the date, the crew arrived, they were professional and polite. They went right to work. Within the first hour, the owner arrived. He explained to me the challenge they were having with the turbines and in detail told me what they needed to do with their placement and why. He did not talk down to me, which as a woman is not easy to find. He, too, was very professional and thorough. He wanted to make sure I was happy. They installed the R-45 and turbines in about 2 hours! It is a fantastic job! I had my father and brother inspect things for me (that's why there is a delay in this review). They said the job looked great! They were very pleased, especially my brother, as he has to fix other's mistakes for his sister. Great Job! Great Price! Very Pleased! Highly Recommend!!!!

The owner who did most of the "blowing in" of insulation guaranteed me a finishing "R" factor of 55. It is, instead something in the neighborhood of 35. As determined by subsequent professional inspection. I told the owner how to get up to the attic to do the work. He chose another way which caused the release of a cloud of cellulose in my home. This was ameliorated somewhat by his reducing the charge to pay for the cleanup to the tune of $250. The amount I spent reflects that reduction, the original bill was $250 higher. The cost to clean his mess and the time involved was considerably more. Considering his shortfall of R factor and his lack of care in completing his task, he gets a dismal grade from this consumer.

Response from Harper’s Insulation
This customer was satisfied with the work at the time of the job and he paid upon completion. The owner of the company himself deducted $250 for any additional clean-up. We give a warranty against settling if there are any concerns about the thickness of material added, he merely needed to let us know. We did not ever hear from the customer any complaints at the time of the job or after. This is the only form of complaint this customer made (never to our office). Until this report, we were completely unaware of his unhappiness.
