Discount Remodelers came out to repair our Patio Cover. They originally installed the Patio Cover, the cover was damaged by the tornado. They came out fixed it quickly, they were very busy due to the storm but were still able to get it fixed for us. Very pleased with the service.

They did a very good job. They finished this past January. I was able to pick the type of shingles that I wanted. They were very prompt and they did a very good job. I don't have any complaints at all. He came when he said he would come. I've used Angie's List to find them. I am happy with the services they've provided. They cleaned up after themselves.

I worked with Ron from day one and he provided outstanding service. Answered all my questions and was available to discuss project details. Over the years I have used them for all of those things. They are competitively priced. They are pleasant to work with. They do what they say the will do and if there is anything that was misunderstood or mistaken they correct it. I just can't say enough good things about them. I would continue to use them.

This was done in three days. It was amazing in the short period of time, and it looked so good! They were very helpful after the tornado hit. I'd call them first before I would call the insurance company!

The new windows really dressed up my house, and I am very pleased with them. However, a couple of days later I noticed some issues with my inside window surrounds, resulting from their work on the outside. Though they were very busy (dealing with repairs in the wake of the tornadoes that hit the metro area), they came out within a few days to fix those issues. They resolved the issues quickly and to my satisfaction. I also had this company replace my roof, which had hail damage, a month or so earlier. This team of professionals also were very polite and professional and did a good job. I will definitely keep them in mind for future remodeling/repairing jobs.
Description of Work: Mark and Brian replaced all the windows in my house with new vinyl, double-paned windows. The main part of of my house was built in 1950, the addition probably 30 years later. Though removing the steel casement windows in the old part of the house, as well as the aluminum ones in the newer addition, posed some problems in removal, they worked diligently to get the job done in about three days, ruining an industrial-type crowbar in the process! Mark is a real craftsman who takes pride in doing the job right.

After calling again to get an estimate John finally called me back and set up a date (6/20/13) to go over the estimate. He arrived and did an informal check of the damage (did not check the roof which is a major part of the damage). Then he advised me that he could do the work for the ACV that the insurance paid, $13,000 basically the amount that was on the last page of the adjusters damage report. He still didn't have a written detailed estimate available but he advised that he would get it to me by Friday. Still waiting!!! I don't know about their skills when it comes to doing the actual work but just trying to get a written estimate from them is like pulling teeth!!! So if it takes this long to get a written estimate I could only imagine how long it would take them to actually do the work if I were to hire them. Just seems like it would be a headache!!!!!

As always, these guys give 150%. They were doing this work due to the hail a couple of weeks ago. Jeff called us promptly and came out almost right away to inspect our damage. Once our insurance carrier made their inspection we contacted Jeff and told him to move forward with the work. Our job was scheduled within two days - much sooner than we expected. The crew arrived just after daylight on the appointed day and pitched in with gusto. They worked very hard, especially considering that because of the rain we experienced recently they couldn't use their fork lift to get the shingles on the roof, but had to wheelbarrow them to the house and carry them up ladders. They worked until dark the first day and came back the next morning to finish up with the barn, shed and aviary. We couldn't be more pleased. The work looks great and they cleaned up all their mess as well. We can't say enough good things about Discount Remodelers. We have used them in the past and will definitely use them in the future.

Discount Remodelers was 1 of 5 companies I "interviewed" to do my siding. Ron Rogers (salesman) arrived at my house, we walked around my property, took the measurements, and provided me a quote. I explained what I wanted installed on my house and also made it a point to mention certain things (additional insulation backing, a solid core vinyl siding, door facings), to ensure my comparisons of all 5 companies was ?fair?. His quote included the siding, and guttering, and all that we talked about. Unfortunately, his quote was out of my price range for what I requested. (Hence the grade of a ?B?). Overall, Ron Rogers was professional and knowledgeable about his product.

Discount Remodeler's were responsive and punctual. My only disappointment is that when he arrived to the do the estimate he immediately said "you want vinyl or aluminum coverage right, not the wooden replacement because we don't do that." They would however cut out any bad spots and replace them. Normally I would not flinch at such a suggestion but since my request was for a "fascia replacement" not cover, i was disappointed. However he was courteous and professional and a quote is a quote which is what i asked for so providing high grades. The estimate on about 176 feet (his measurement) was about 3,300.00. As of yet I do not have many comparisons so I am marking the grade for price NA. Update: I had the work done for 2000.00 and excellent quality by another contractor. Therefore I deem this estimate a bit high.

Depending on my experience with them, I would not use them again. I did not like their work. They did okay. They were nice people. They installed the cover, but there was one part of the cover I did not particularly like the way they did it.

My circumstances were unusual in that I have the possibility of having to relocate unexpectedly. I signed a contract and thought I had a good reason to get out of my end of it; I was wrong. I guess I was fortunate to only have to pay for an expensive door that I don't need or want.
Description of Work: Hired Discount Remodeler for two tasks. First was to add guttering on the house, the second was to enclose a patio area. The guttering was completed in a relatively timely fashion but overall, we are not pleased with the result. In a couple of places, the downspouts were not placed as we'd asked and in the area we were most concerned about addressing (in front of our garage) the gutters leak pretty significantly! Specifically, at the corner junctions, the water pretty much just flows straight out and onto the ground. I took some videos of some recent leakage because it shows water pouring out of the corner in a steady stream. Before work started on the patio enclosure, I was alerted that I may be relocated for my job. I immediately called and tried to cancel the work as I did not want to risk putting over $3000 into an enclosed patio and not get a chance to enjoy it. When I tried to cancel the job, I was presumptuously informed that the job would increase the value of my home and "pay for itself," but of course there is absolutely no guarantee that this is true, especially in this housing market and particularly in the short term. Secondly, I was informed that since they had special ordered a door, we'd have to pay for it as there was no way to return it. This was NOT a custom made door, but was "special ordered" for the job (i.e. not a door normally kept in stock). We offered to pay a restocking fee but were informed the "best" they could do was let us pay for the door that we don't now have or will ever need. We were told that if they use door on another project that they'd reimburse us some portion of the cost of the door. Perhaps we'll get some of that money back. Overall, I had a disappointing experience.

We at Discount Remodelers also regretted the things that was beyond our control concerning this project. We ordered the materials for this project only and could not use it on any other project. The member called us to cancel after the materials was made to fix this project. We did try to discount any materials that we could but was unable to discount the doors and the transons.There was no labor charged to the member. We hoped the member might understand our problems too.

Really, was not very informative for a home energy audit. You would be better off researching online and weatherproofing your own house.
Description of Work: This company advertised a home energy audit inspection on my house. They really did not do anything other then show up and stand in my living room and say you need to add weatherstriping around the doors clean the fireplace.

We do remember the member and we did an energy inspection review on his home. There were two of us that went to the property. Jeff went up on the roof to inspect for any damage and then inspected the attic for attic insulation. Ron went inside to inspect the windows and doors. The member and Ron talked at lenght about his double doors. We did look at the furance too. The cost of inspection was only $49 and after several calls to the member without being able to talk to him about the inspection, we did offer the refund of the $49 on his voice mail. We hope to hear from him soon.

Ron came out and gave us a quote in a very timely fashion. We selected his quote and he had his guys out to do the work the next week. The works was done well and overall we had a good experience with them. The one complaint I have was that the price he quoted me while surveying the job was about $350 less than what it ended up costing because he did some math incorrectly. Even with the additional charge, it was about the same as the other quotes we got so we decided to just go with them since they were so responsive. We had a couple small things that we wanted fixed with the siding and he scheduled a time for the guys to come back out and fix the issues. Overall, we are very satisfied with their work and would recommend them.

The mis-quote did happen on this job. It does not happen very often, but we are human. As soon as we noticed the mistake, we informed the member (before the installation) so he could decide if he want to go ahead with the installation or cancel the contract. I am very pleased with the responsiveness and the quality of work from Discount Remodelers.
Description of Work: Discount remodelers gave me an estimate for doing my roof. They guaranteed the estimate for two weeks. I shopped around and did not find a better price. I called Jeff and he immediately scheduled the work to be done. The roof looks great. They cleaned up all of the mess. I am going to have Discount do the gutters on our new house.
