A-Better Chimney

I called a few companies and had A Better Chimney come out to take a look at it. He came out and went up on the roof to the chimney and said he could take care of it right then. He quickly fixed it and when I asked him how much I owed him he said it was free of charge. He said I was a previous customer of his and he really appreciated the business. I was very pleased with him.

Toby came out at my request to inspect and clean my chimney and provide estimates for some other work. He worked quickly and talked me through everything and answered all my questions. I was watching over his shoulder the whole time over curiosity and he was nice enough to speak with me while he worked. I will be using him again soon.

Everything went great. Toby seemed to be highly experienced and knowledgeable.

He did a great job. He got it done and it was quickly and not totally expensive! And our dryer works better!

Toby came the day after calling for an appointment and was right on time. He was very professional and cleaned the dryer vent and removed a mesh screen on the roof portion that was causing lint to build up and block ventilation. The roofers I used did not re-install the vent on my roof properly a few months previously and he corrected their work. The dryer works like new again.

Toby was timely, professional, performed quality work. He was helpful and showed me exactly what he found and corrected. Top notch work! I won't hesitate to contact in the future and recommend to my friends.

First of all, Toby arrived right on time and is one of the nicest service/repairmen ever! He had told me over the phone what the cost would be to clean my dryer vent and once he got into the job he recommended that the dryer hose be replaced after he showed me two tears in it and was able to do that for a additional fee. Once on the roof, he noticed a raised shingle and repaired that for me. I felt like he really went above and beyond what most would've done. He is extremely professional, polite and prompt. He left my utility room cleaner than when he arrived. I highly recommend Toby.

He made an appointment with me to come put a new chimney cap on the next day. He called me later that same day saying it might be raining the next day and could he come out then, so my chimney would be covered. This was around 4:30 - 5:00 in the afternoon. I appreciated his concern. Turned out my chimney was round instead of rectangle or square and he didn't have a cap in stock to fit my chimney. He was very apologetic about having to order the chimney cap. He gave me the costs and ordered it. He called me in 2 days to come out. He had gotten the stainless steel cap instead of a black cap, which was $10.00 more than the black. He offered it to me for the price of the black. You cannot ask for a better business man than Toby. It was a pleasure doing business with him.

We originally scheduled for the chimney to be cleaned and inspected. Toby came to do the work with a helper - they were both very professional and courteous. Toby had a list of things that were necessary to fix which was very small, he was not pushy at all with any of the optional fixes and sealers he left them on a suggested repairs list. We opted to have him go ahead and do everything he suggested and he was able to complete it all in that same visit. He took lots of pictures for before and after. We were extremely pleased with the work would very highly recommend his services.

He was terrific. He was extremely prompt and accommodating. He came in, inspected the chimney, and cleaned it. He was very professional and cleaned up after himself.

I originally had an appoint scheduled in November but had to call and reschedule for a day in December. I took the day off work so I would be home all day. He did not show up. I called and he looked in 2 different places and finally found where he had written down he was to come 12/13, but blamed me because I originally had rescheduled from November. Very unprofessional, blaming a customer for his mistake. I want to update my review. The provider response is fictional. I originally scheduled an appointment in November. Before that date occurred, I called him to schedule a new date, because I couldn't be here for the original date. He rescheduled to 12/13. His response stating he showed up and rang the doorbell is either pure fiction, or his record keeping skills are worse than I originally thought they were. The fact is he got his records mixed up and didn't show up on 12/13. He didn't attempt to show up at any time on 12/13 even though I told him I had taken the entire day off work. My appointment was for early in the morning, he had all day to make it up and come later. If you use this provider, he may or may not show up.

I am so pleased with the service received from this company. A Better Chimney service professional checked my chimney and actually informed me I did NOT need a chimney sweep. Saved me $60.00! Honesty...a dying virtue, I was so impressed! Mr. Buser proceeded with a safety inspection of my fireplace, cleaned the creosote build up on the insert, fixed the gas lever/insert (which has been broken since I've lived here),and even checked my smoke and carbon dioxide alarms. I am pleased to say I am enjoying my fireplace now, with peace of mind knowing the house is not going to burn down. I appreciate the education provided also on the specifications of my particular fireplace model. All this for a mere $39 bucks!

Arrived on time and did a great professional job. Took care to cover carpet and left everything very clean. Would recommend and definitely will use again next year.

Toby was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. He evaluated my chimney and fixed it in the same day. He installed a chimney cap and caulked some cracks that he found. He took pictures to show me what was wrong. He was great and I highly recommend him.

Actually came a day earlier than expected and did the crown work, new mortar where missing and two new heavy duty Chimney caps. I arrived home for lunch saw his truck and he said he could do the inside work then if I had the time. He completed all the work a day before I expected. Great work, really nice person to deal with. Could not have gone better. I am most pleased and would recommend A-Better Chimney to anyone.

Excellent service! I called Toby on Monday when we discovered birds in our chimney. Our chimney cap blew off during a storm at some point. He was very polite and professional on the phone. He took all of my information and asked if he could call me back in an hour. He called me back within the hour. I appreciated him calling me back when he said he would. He said he could come out the next day. He came on Tuesday at the time he said he would be there. He brought a replacement cap and installed it for us. He did an excellent job and we felt his charges were more than reasonable. We feel like we got much more for our money with him! I will use his services again!

I called to get an appointment to have my dryer vent cleaned. The gentleman was very professional and we agreed on a date and time which was the very next day. He was on time gave me an estimate of the charges. He had the proper equipment to do the job and went to work. He climbed up on the roof and suctioned the debris and many roofing staples out of the vent hose. He discovered that the vent cap on the roof was not the proper one for a dryer vent so he installed a new one. I have had to have my dryer repaired several times because it was overheating. I got ripped off by another company that advertised they did dryer vent cleaning among other services being carprt cleaning. I needed one room of carpet cleaned so I got the package deal . They should not claim to be dryer vent cleaners as they did not climb on the roof to see what was going on up there. They only ran a brush up from the bottom as far as they could. A small amount of debris came down. They probably packed it all toward the top making a bad situation worse. They charged $69.00 .Lesson Learned. Call Toby Buser with A-Better chimney to clean your dryer vent or chimney. He has the equipment and the know how to get the job done right. He is truly a professional with a good attitude. I am glad to have found him.

Toby came out and inspected the chimney immediately. We had lost our chimney cap which was sitting on the roof. He did a thorough inspection ($39.95 and worth it) and then gave me a detailed work and cost invoice and specific "before" photos. Once I approved the work, he came out within 48 hours and did the work and provided "after" photos of the completed work.
