Chad was naturally courteous and professional. After the initial consultation, he was able to concisely explain what needed to be done, how much it would cost, and why.

Calling friends for references, and having two of the plumbers to come and estimate a very high fee, I called Angie's List. A plumber (only one) was sent out and corrected the problem by removing the hydrant pipe. The three foot hole was covered on 09/13/2010. The hole was left open to determine if there was further leakage. Thus the late delay in submitting evaluation
Description of Work: Entire front yard was flooded from a busted water hydrant that had apparently been hit by a heavy force. (lawn mower) The flooding had gone on for almost three weeks without my knowledge.

They did a GREAT job. We will be using this company in the future for our plumbing problems. I would recommend them to everyone!

His price was more than reasonable and he did a great job. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing plumbing services.
Description of Work: The company Power Lift (I wouldn't recommend them to anybody) broke a drain line while installing piers under my home. So, I called around not knowing how serious the issue was and many companies were all booked and/or couldn't make emergency calls over the weekend (the Power Lift incident happened on a Friday). I spoke with who I believe was the owner of Water Boy's Plumbing (forgot his name) and after describing what had happened he assured me that it shouldn't be that big of a deal for the water line to sit like it was through the weekend. He seemed very knowledgable and professional over the phone so I decided to use him even though he was booked and busy until the following Tuesday. I also liked the fact that I was talking to the man who runs the business. He explained to me all the available options for repairing the line as well as the cost associated with each. He gave his recommendation on what the most reasonable option for us was and the service was outstanding.

Terrible. I took time off of work and had to call another plumber who fixed the toilet with one try. However, by the time the second plumber arrived and fixed the problem it was too late for me to go to work. Chad wasted my time.
Description of Work: Chad attempted to unplug a toilet and said that he could not do this since he did not have his snake. He said that he cannot carry everything on his truck. He left without unplugging the toilet and said that the plug was in the sewer line.

Called Water Boy's and they said it would most likely be the next week before he could come out but would see if he could do it sooner. Didn't work out that week but he called on the next Tuesday and was at our house today (Thursday). First, it is an owner operated business (which I prefer). Chad was very nice, and professional and professionally dressed. He got right to work and what would have taken us hours took him about 45 minutes. He left no mess and showed us exactly what he did, what was wrong and how to keep it from being a problem in the future. Chad then took a look at the exterior faucet. He did a quick fix on the spot but pointed out the hardware was 30 -years old and his 'fix' probably wouldn't last a long time. He recommended replacing the faucet if it was simply screwed on. He took time to try and take it off before deciding it was a rare case of a faucet that was permanently attached and would require cutting into the wall and replacing the whole pipe. We opted not to do that and see if the temp fix would hold. Chad then showed me how to take the faucet apart and service it if I wanted to. When the bill was presented it was well within his estimate ($90 - $175) and only $109. He hadn't charged for looking at the exterior faucet so I paid him $120 total. It was a great experience and we will use him again for certain!
Description of Work: The sink in our teenager's bathroom was leaking badly onto the floor. The home is an older home (1970) and the bathroom still had copper pipes with no cut-offs. Instead of messing with the connections and trying to make a temporary fix we decided it would be better to have a plumber cut the copper pipes off, instal cut-off valves and flexible water lines. I also had a badly leaking faucet on the outside of the house that our handyman tried to fix but was unsuccessful.

Every time we flushed a toilet, took a shower, washed clothes, etc. water started building up in a drain in our garage and eventually in a shower on the first floor of our home. We had a plumbing company come out and snake the pipes. Afterwards the problem was still happening and they came back, snaked again and told us our pipe was broken off at the main and gave us a $3,200 estimate. I looked on Angie's List and found Water Boy's Plumbing. They came out and found a clean out (buried about 8 inches deep) and snaked an area of pipe the other plumbing company never even looked for. They went out of their way to avoid digging up my backyard and actually used their plumbing experience to diagnose and fix the problem. Working with Water Boy's Plumbing was a very enjoyable experience and not just because they saved me $2,800. Chad was very nice and explained everything that he did to me so I would understand.
Description of Work: He used a toilet in our pool house to snake pipes. He realized that the snake wasn't going to the main but back towards the house. He found a clean out (which I'd looked for for months) and snaked from that clean out to the main. He eventually fixed the problem. He also took the toilet out of the pool house for me and capped off the pipe. He disposed of the toilet as well.

The work was excellent, professional, friendly, on-time, and Chad even went above and beyond what we discussed during the estimate. He completed the job in one day, maybe two (I can't remember, but it was exactly how long he told me it would take) and stayed late into the evening (almost 10-11pm I believe) to complete the job. I will be hiring Water Boy's to repair a gas line in the near future and I will also hire them to remodel one of my bathrooms when I have the money saved up! Chad even gave me some FANTASTIC advice on how to hang a new door I was working on and couldn't get right. Water Boy's plumbing is top-notch!

Chad Douma was very pleasant and professional to work with. He did the installation himself and he knows what he's doing. He took time to research what was the best infrared heater I should get for our garage. He showed up when he said he was and got the job done very quickly and efficiently. The quality of materials he used was very good and I don't anticipate having any problem in the future with the work that he did. Was he the cheapest? I don't know, because I didn't have anything to compare it to, but I don't think his price was out of line. The work he did involved a lot of bending over and crawling through our attic which wasn't easy. I'm very pleased with the job he did and would hire him again in a second.
Description of Work: Installed 8 gas lines and drops in various locations in our house. Installed an infrared heater and thermostat in our garage.

I called the company and the man gave me an approximate estimate and a time frame for doing the work. I called him back and we scheduled the work. He came out and got started with taking out the old hot water tank on that day. He worked until 11:00 that night and came back the next day to complete the job. The vent pipe for the old heater had to be replaced and the tank raised 18 inches off of the ground to comply with the code. He also had to enclose the tank with a new closet that he built. The old heater had a recirculator that sent instant hot water to the master bathroom. I had him disconnect that line. The job came to about $400 mor than the original telephone estimate because of the extra work required. The installer did a very good job and the work was worth what I had to pay.

The line broke sometime on Sunday night, after I got the water under control, I called and left a message. My call was returned the next morning, and an appointment was scheduled for later that afternoon. Around noon, the plumber called and said that he could swing by earlier and did so. The problem was quickly diagnosed and the work was completed. Chad was personable and professional the entire time. He gave me advice on the next steps I should take to ensure no further issues.

I called Water Boy's Plumbing on a Monday and arranged an appointment for Friday morning. Chad arrived on time and we walked through all the work that I wanted to have done. He went right to work, installing a new water line for an ice maker (for when I get a new fridge), replacing parts that were causing a bit of rusty water in my kitchen hot water tap, and checking a gas line to the stove to make sure there were no leaks. My home inspector had told me that the pressure release valve on the water heater was not up to code. Chad said that was correct, that the pipe would melt above 250 degrees, and that it was really my choice whether to fix it. He said it would be a problem if the pressure built up in the tank and the pressure released through this pipe, and if the pipe melted, then hot water could go spewing everywhere, which could be dangerous if I tried to turn off the hot water. So I had him replace the valve. He also pointed out corrosion on some other pipes on top of the hot water tank, and he said the shut-off valve had been installed backward, making it awkward to turn off the tank in case of an emergency, so I had him fix those things too. Chad was pleasant to work with and down-to-earth during his nearly three-hour visit to my house. For $280 I'd say I got a lot of work performed. I'm very pleased!

Went well, phone call, appointment set, ended up not needing, called back and he gave me extra advice to finish off job I already did.
Description of Work: I called Chad on short notice and left him a message of the problem. He was going to squeeze me in that evening to come and take a quick look (he mentioned he was running short staffed). In the meantime I fixed the issue myself, and called him back to let him know I got it done. He asked me what I ended up doing and how I did it. I told him and he gave me some quick advice on what extra's I can do to ensure the problem is fixed and I immediately went back to the store to get the stuff to do it. Awesome. He could have said thanks and bye. Bad news...A leak I had noticed but haven't isolated occurred today in another area of the house due to the rain, and I immediately called Chad again as this job is not something I want to tackle. I'll be back to write about the price and quality of this job after he fixes me up. I'm guessing based on other's input, it'll be excellent work, and priced fair.

I have never seen such work ethic and determination from a service professional. We had used Chad before and were pleased with his work on a pipe leak within a wall. When this problem occurred I did not hesitate to call him. He replaced the faulty gas controls and the unit worked well for about a week. The pilot light would go out and I would have to relight it. It became a mystery as to why it would not stay lit. Chad returned several times trying various things to correct the problem but it just would not stay lit more than 3-4 days. He spent a lot of time each trip and ended up replacing the gas line and several other parts through the process of elimination. I am pleased to say that due to Chad's determination, knowledge and work ethic, we have a working water heater. Also, I must add that Chad worked us into his schedule everytime I called and reported that the pilot light was still not staying lit. He always came by within 24 hours. Most importantly he did not charge for any of the return trips nor did he charge for any of the additional items he replaced. I know that is unbelieveable in this day and age. Chad will be getting all of my business and anyone elses that I have contact with. It is a pleasure to know and do business with Chad. He has proven that small business professionals are still alive and well in this country.

First, we had a leak in our bathroom that Chad diagnosed as a leaky bathtub/shower faucet. He gave us tips on choosing a good quality replacement. Then the tiling had to be demolished and the faucet replaced. We purchased new tile and the tiling guy Daniel did a fantastic job re-tiling not only the tub/shower, but also a nifty backsplash behind the commode. Between all this, Chad also replaced an outside water spigot that had already been leaking. Right before the bathroom was completely finished, we had a huge leak! Chad came over as soon as possible and we eventually determined the leak was due to a blockage in the drainage line to the main sewer, due to the large tree in our backyard sending roots into the pipe. He had to dig about five feet down to find the blockage, removed it, replaced the crushed pipe, and now everything is great. This big job took several visits, and Chad and his workers always arrived at the time they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves perfectly - the bathtub was actually cleaner when they left than when they arrived! Chad, especially, answered many late night and weekend phone calls from two very nervous first time homeowners that know nothing about plumbing (that would be me and my husband). He was very patient with our two very yappy pug dogs, and explained everything in detail to me and made sure I understood what was going on. I highly recommend Chad and his crew.
Description of Work: Replaced frost free outdoor water spigot and damaged pipe that was leaking. Demolished and replaced tub/shower tile and leaking faucets. Re-tiled bathroom with extra features. Diagnosed minor house flooding. Snaked line twice. Installed two clean outs on drainage line. Dug approximately five feet down to replace broken and blocked drainage line.

Water Boy's is amazing. I called Chad looking for someone who could cut a ventilation duct from my kitchen to the outside of the house. I had been told that either an HVAC or a plumber could do this. I called two HVAC services that said they didn't do this type of work. When I called Chad, he told me that he hadn't done this before, but offered to come out and take a look, and help me find the right person for the job if it wasn't him. He was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly during our visit. He discussed the project with me, and explained the permissions that would be necessary to do the work. He contacted the City to answer some questions that we had. In the end, he let me know he wasn't the right person to do the job, but would not let me compensate him for the time he spent on the project so far. Also, he offered to call up a HVAC person he knows in my area, who was able to perform the work. All in all, I found him to be extremely helpful, and I will certainly contact him for any future plumbing work I may need.

Joined Angie's List and immediately searched for a plumber with Water Boy being one of the plumber's in my area of time with good ratings. I called Water Boy and left a message and my call was returned in less than 15 minutes. We were able to make a appointment, when Water Boy was in my area of town and Chad gave me an apporixmate time (within 1/2 hour) when he would be in my area. Chad was very prompt, maybe even a little early and he tried his best to solve the problem and only charged me a service call, due to the fact we are not sure if the problem was fixed, but he offered to return if it is required.

The whole job went Incredibly well from start to finish. There were no mistakes or problems whatsoever. I knew we were going to be in good hands after seeing Chad's reaction upon inspecting the crawlspace in which he was going to be spending a good deal of time. Everybody else who had ever contemplated going into that crawlspace winced or groaned, but not Chad. He got right down with his belly on the dirt, stuck his head inside the entrance and shouted, "YES!!"
Description of Work: Chad did all of the plumbing on an extensive renovation of our 1929 home. He helped us move a washer/dryer from its former location in the sun room to a new utility closet built specifically to house the washer/dryer. To make it work he had to move hot and cold water lines, install new washer box and drain pipe. He also helped us free up closet space by moving an old water heater which had been placed by the previous owners in a bedroom closet, and replacing it with a Noritz outdoor tankless water heater. In the process he capped off old gas lines, upgraded existing 1/2" gas lines to 3/4". He cut loose the old drain pipe from the previous washer/dryer location, repaired and capped a leak under the kitchen sink, installed a new water line to the ice maker for our new refrigerator and fixed a leaking tub drain and installed new fixtures.

Outdoor faucet burst during winter, I called Water Boys Plumbing for this problem and they schedule it within a week to be done.
