Everything went well, was on time and professional.

when i smelled smoke in the upstairs bedroom as we were using our downstairs fireplace, I called this company to have them inspect our chimney. Although they were nice when I spoke to them, I had to call them at least a couple of times. When they showed up, the inspection was very quick. After they left, I noticed on the report and invoice that he had written that my flue was very dirty and needed immediate cleaning. He never told me that nor did they offer to clean it. He also wrote and told me that the chimney needed a new lining and not to use the chimney until that had been done. I was suspect so I called another company who helped me out considerably, and I didn't need a new lining.

Not good at all! Have all ready explained

We initially used American Chimney and Masonry to perform a fireplace inspection and cleaning. During the inspection the service technician discovered that the chimney cap was in need of repair. He provided an estimate and scheduled a time to come back and perform the work.

Contractor was early to the appointment and had already started the exterior work when I arrived. Personnel were professional, quick and cleaned up after themselves. They answered all questions I had.

The technician arrived promptly and proceeded to inspect and clean the chimney of our wood-burning stove. He did his job quickly and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. This is the second time we have used this company. We are very happy with their service.

They were courteous and professional. I didn't use them but they were very nice and responsive. I did receive the quote over the phone.

Mike was on time, put a cover on the floor in front of the fireplace to keep it clean and then did the chimney sweep.

They never sent the promised estimate. I actually went by there to ask for it, and was again promised it would be sent by email. It was never sent.

They left everything very clean. There was no debris left on the hearth or the rug. They also had good follow up.

He did a great job...answered my questions...cleaned up...all around an excellent experience and a well done job....and SO reasonably priced.

It went well overall. We are glad we contacted them to check the fireplace before we tried to use it.

They showed up on time and contacted me to let me know they were on the way. They were very friendly, great sense of humor, quick, clean, and very professional.

They were prompt and professional, and provided me with options. It has rained a few times since the work was done with no leaking.

What we really liked is that they got it done pretty quick, they got the right brick, they put it together well, and they asked us what we wanted to do. We wanted use the same box to save money and they went along with that. From right hand to left hand they continued the thought process. The font that came back for the numbers was an inch off and when you are looking at numbers in a neighborhood you can't see it. I brought it up to them and they said they would look into but they haven't come back and done anything more, I guess thinking we may go away. It was bad that they left that loose. I explained to them that it was probably not their fault and they could get back with the company that printed it and he said that it was standard size. I told him it wasn't because I went around and measured everyone's in the neighborhood. Other than that, it looks great, they did a good job, and I am pleased with it. I don't know if they are going to fix it or not.

We made an appointment with American Chimney then called the renter to make sure he would be there to let the chimney sweep in if needed. The office had to call and reschedule which made the renter a little perturbed, but they did arrive promptly at the rescheduled time. Performed the work in professional manner. Had a squirrel stuck in the chimney. Noted other repairs that we would want to have done. Office said they would bill us so I left our billing information with the office staff. Office called a week later wanting to know what address we wanted the bill sent to. We are happy with their work, but looks like the office could be a little better organized.

I talked to one of the staff at American Chimney and Masonry to inquire about the price of having our chimney cleaned. The estimate provided seemed reasonable, so an appointment was scheduled. Two technicians, Randy and Shane, arrived on the day of the scheduled appointment. They were on time and started work immediately. The technicians were polite, efficient, and very knowledgeable. They were able to complete the job quickly and were very neat, always making sure to protect the carpet from soot and ashes. While performing the inspection, the technicians noted two problems with the existing fireplace and chimney. The technician provided an estimate for repairing the problems, indicating that they could do the repairs at our convenience, if we so chose. I was pleasantly surprised by the frank but pressure free conversation concerning the needed repairs. At this time, I am fully satisfied with the completed services provided by Randy and Shane from American Chimney and Masonry. I plan on utilizing their expertise in the future, both for general cleaning and for the repair of our fireplace/chimney.

Like another member, they called to see if they could come early. They showed up on time and got to work immediately. One guy got on the roof and swept while the other guy was in the fireplace with a giant vacuum. The guy who worked in the house took his shoes off in the doorway and laid down protective coverings on the floor and around the fireplace. They pointed out some issues my chimney has and gave me an estimate for those repairs, such as installing a new crown. This was expected as I have been having problems with water coming down the chimney and into the fireplace. They identified that the crown was the problem and did so before I could tell them that I was having problems with it leaking. Will call them back to fix crown.

f010imit again so we called American Ch We had American Chimney and Masonry install a gas log conversion kit into our wood burning fireplace. We also ordered a new facade for the fireplace. This is a family owned business and they were very nice and helpful. They offered us a nice discount due to my husband serving in the military. Unfortunately, it took several weeks for the conversion kit to come in and to install and required two separate days off from work. The first time, I thought they were coming to install the conversion kit and could only come in the middle of the day so I took leave from work, cancelled appointments, and was present. The installer arrived late and then required approximately 15 minutes to unwrap, assemble, and snap on the new facade...no conversion kit...and quot;still waiting, it's on back order.and quot; Weeks later, after several phone calls the kit finally arrives. Almost three months later, another day off from work, the kit was installed and fireplace looked great. We got great use out of it last year. The kit started to become difficult to light - would have to use the on off switch a few times to get it to ignite. Over the summer we turned off the pilot because it kicked out a lot of heat and seemed to have an unduly high flame for just being a pilot. Now we can't get the pilot lit again so we called American Chimney and asked them to come help us light the pilot. At that time we were told that the kit was in recall and that this needs to be fixed before it can be used again. We have now called multiple times over the past six weeks to have someone fix this issue and have been told something different each time...'someone will call you in a few days', 'someone will call you next week', 'someone will come out at the end of next week.' And today we call, because no one 'came out this week' or called and are told that 'our information was sent to the factory 'Monday or Tuesday' and the factory should be getting in touch with you.' It's now December, a major cold front is coming and we are unable to use our very expensive fireplace conversion... extremely poor customer service...

The only problem I had with them was getting their front office to respond to emails, phone calls and coordinate the job with their workers. It took weeks just to get a start date. That happened only when the phone one was answered by the person that eventually did the work. I've been happy with every other facet of the job. The work was done in accordance with national standards. Their warranty was in writing (0 yrs) and covers material and labor. The cap was covered by a life time warranty.

This was the most unprofessional I have experienced an any company I dealt with. I took the day off all for no one to show up. I called the day before to setup an appointment at 10:30 the next morning. I waited until about 11 AM before finally making the phone call to make sure they didn't forget about me. The representative on the phone advised me that the tech was on another job and would be calling me shortly. I waited until 12:30 with still no call. I took off work for the day to have this done only to have a no show no contact. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Although there was no work done, I'm assuming that if they ran their business this way then I'm probably better off not allowing them to work on my house.

I called this company to get a glass brick wall put in. They told me someone would call me that week to arrange an appointment for an estimate. No one ever called, but two weeks later, a guy showed up at my house to give me an estimate. He didn't call in advance, didn't give me a card, and didn't even measure the space where I wanted glass blocks installed. He spent maybe five minutes and barely even looked at the space I wanted filled, then he said he would call with an estimate, and left. I never heard from him (no surprise). I am not impressed at all with this company!

They were very professional and came exactly on time. They let us know that the chimney didn't need to be cleaned and took $15 off the bill, which was really impressive. The diagnosed the problem and laid out clearly the different options.

They actually called me to see if they could come earlier for the appointment. They arrived on time and worked very quickly. One fellow swept the Chimney and the other inspected and helped with clean-up. I was satisfied with the job they did. They also gave me an estimate to repair the crown of the chimney if I decided to do so. They were in and out of the house within 30 minutes.

I talked with 2 different people and left 2 other voice messages about getting a mail box replaced. Both people told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they would come by and give me an estimate. It's been well over a month since my first contact and they haven't made it out yet. I went with another company who showed up the day after I called them, gave an estimate on the spot and replaced the mailbox before the end of the week.
