I did a search for Garage Door companies on Angie's List and Trotter Overhead was listed as number one on the list with an A+ rating. After working with them today, I can see why. I was given a window of 8am-12pm, and was told that I'd receive a call 30 minutes before the technician arrived. I received a call from J.D. at 9:36am saying he would arrive within 30 minutes. 25 minutes later, he was at the front door. I showed him how my Garage Door opener track had been pulled completely out of the wall above the Garage door and he took one look at it and told me exactly what they would do to fix it. "We'll mount a steel bracket vertically on the wall and mount it to the studs, and then attach the track to the steel bracket. " He went to work and within 15 minutes, had everything professionally installed and secured....but when testing the garage door, he noticed there was something not acting right with the Garage Door opener. He quickly disassembled my Garage door opener and identified the culprit, a bad bushing. Almost 2 years before, I had a sprocket replaced within the opener, but the bushing was never replaced when it should have been. He replaced the bushing, and didn't even charge me for the part, only the labor. (Which is definitely fair considering the disassembly and reassembly that was required! Afterwards they tested and lubricated everything. There is definitely a reason they have won Angie List awards multiple years in a row! The service is professional and top notch. The pricing is very reasonable and fair. I have placed their number in my cell phone and will now only use Trotter when I need Garage Door service. If the owner reads this, please recognize J.D. and the gentleman that was with him for their excellent work. Too often you only hear when something goes wrong, but not when an employee is out there day in and day out representing the company and doing such a great job. These technicians were very professional, very thorough, and went above and beyond to ensure everything with my door and opener was in tip top shape. Thank you!

This is my second experience with Trotter Overhead Door, and I will certainly keep going to them for my overhead door needs. Nathan was very friendly and helpful with selecting the right products for my home and the serviceman was on time and done with the whole job in under 2 hours. Neat installation and everything tidied up when he was done. Thorough orientation after installation to help me understand all the features and he helped me set up the outdoor remote code before he left. Very smooth transaction and the door openers work great! Professional in all respects and personal service you can count on. I highly recommend this company.

It went great. He was in and out in less than an hour.

They were prompt. I haven't seen them yet but I'm sure they did a good job. I've had them replace a hand held device before so I knew what they had to offer. They told me it was belt driven and when they could install it. It worked out well. I didn't shop around and compare prices. I think they treated me fair.

Going to replace it with a Lift Master!

They did not work on the type of door that we had, but told us what the problem was. I would recommend them.

I called Friday afternoon and asked to have someone come out to replace a broken spring on my garage door. Since it was late in the day on Friday we scheduled an appointment on Monday between 12-4. They said they would call when they were headed this way. Jerry called about 12:30 on Monday and told me he was on his way and arrived about 20 minutes later. He looked at the door and confirmed that it needed a spring replaced, got one from his truck, and had the door working again in very short order. Jerry was very friendly and professional. I will definitely call Trotter again if I need any service on my garage door or opener.

Fantastic service. I called at 7:45 in the morning to say spring was broken. At first they said they had a service opening next day, but when I said I couldn't get my car out of the garage and get to work, they came within the hour. The service man was so very polite and efficient. Door was repaired within an hour and a half of my call. I am extremely pleased with their service. They are the best!

They were great! they did it in one day and they treat me very respectful.

Service went well, our garage door opener did not have the sensors so I had the system replaced. Our installer came at the time agreed upon, and called beforehand to say he was coming over. He installed the new system and hauled away the old one. he also cleaned up the door brackets as they were making a lot of noise. Our installer was efficient and polite. I am glad we have a new, safer and quieter garage door opener.

I accidentally damaged the bottom panel in our overhead garage door Monday morning, rendering it inoperable. By noon, the sales rep from Trotter Overhead Doors was out to our house to do an estimate, which I approved. They called Tuesday to make an appointment. By noon on Wednesday, the door was fully repaired, both doors were serviced properly and function better now than before the accident. The service rep was punctual and courteous, and the whole procedure cost less than I had anticipated.

The spring broke on the garage door, and my wife's car was trapped inside the garage. I called Trotter Overhead Door, and explained the situation (car trapped in garage, child needs to be picked up at school). The lady I dealt with over the phone was very helpful, and told me she would send someone out to help immediately. The technician arrived within 15-30 minutes replaced the spring, and serviced both garage doors. The garage doors are both working great, and sound so much better. The technician then explained how to lube the entire garage door to keep it working at peak performance longer. I asked the technician since he was already out there if he would just replace both springs, and he told me that the other spring looked good and there was no need to replace both. So on top of doing good work he was not interested in gouging me for more money. I'm very pleased with the service they provided, and would use them again.

When I called the company they were able to schedule the repairs within 24 hours. The person I talked to was very helpful and showed an appropriate amount of concern for my problems. (always a good way to make a good impression) The repairman, Jerry, arrived on time, went right to work and in less than an hour I had a working garage door. He was very professional and pleasant. Overall a very good experience with Trotter Overhead Doors. I would recommend to anyone.

Couldn't have asked for better service. Called at last moment and they sent out JD to work on garage door. He oiled and replaced sensors and checked my current garage door opener. Told me I had a great unit and they can last up to 25 years. Didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. He got the job done quickly and thoroughly. Very impressed.

Both garage doors broke within a week of each other. The main door spring broke the very day the temperature went below 20. We wanted our door fixed and fast. Within 24hrs of calling, my garage doors (2) were fixed. They were very prompt, knowledgable, and reasonably priced. No hassle, no stress, just did what they said they would do when they said they could do it.

Called Trotter on 8/9/12 after viewing reviews on Angie's List. They were still backed up from hailstorm damage repairs, so they said the earliest they could do it would be 8/24/12. Thankfully, I managed to get the broken door up manually with just one working spring (and wow was that difficult), and I disassembled and reassembled the damaged door to get it closed after moving my car out (not recommended...extremely dangerous!), so the delay in service didn't end up causing any problems. Mickie from Trotter showed up on 8/24/12 as scheduled and got to work on the door. He disassembled the damaged door, removed the tracks and springs, and hauled those off when the job was done. Somehow this guy managed to do all the disassembly and install the new tracks, springs, and door BY HIMSELF! I felt bad for Mickie, as the guy who was supposed to be helping him that day had called in sick. Still, he managed to get it all done and the new door continues to work extremely well (and look good) nearly 3 months later. Labor was only $45 and the cost of the door was well below the cost of the cheapest (and thinner) doors offered by big-name hardware stores I won't mention. In fact, the total cost was about half of what I was thinking I was going to have to pay after looking at various big-name websites. Trotter saved me a lot of money and did an excellent job. I'll be contacting them again next time I need any garage door services.
