+ 1 moreI called Steve and he got right back to me. I told him what I wanted done, he set up a time to come over, and arrived at the agreed upon time. He was really nice through the whole project, even though he had to spend time in the attic that had to have been super hot. He installed two ceiling fans in the patio, and moved two porch lights. His attitude was always pleasant. I would recommend him to everyone, and will use him every time from now on for any electrical needs we have.
Description of Work: Steve installed two ceiling fans on our patio ceiling, moved the ceiling lights to a different location.

+ -1 moreThis was a follow up to the work that was done by Steve on 06/14/2012. After he had installed two ceiling fans and moved two ceiling lights on our patio, I decided I wanted an extra switch inside that would control them separately. The poor guy had to spend a lot of time going back and forth to the attic when it was really hot outside. Steve never complained a bit, was always polite and had a good attitude.
Description of Work: Installed two light switches to control outside ceiling fans and lights.

+ -1 moreSteve was very professional and very friendly. He as very busy so I had to wait a couple of weeks for service but that was no problem since there was no emergency. He cleaned up after any place he worked and it was a pleasure having him.
Description of Work: Steve checked all my electrical outlets and electrical box for any problems are tightened several of the outlets and added GIF safety features to those needed. He also corrected the wiring for a garage door opener, getting it up to code. I was very pleased with his work and he is coming back to do some additonal work I requested. I highly recommend him.

+ 1 moreI called Steve to see if he could help me. He answered his phone and talked to me for awhile about what we needed and was very helpful and friendly. We texted and called each other. It may take him a day or two to get back to a text, but he gets back every time. (I'm sure he's really busy.) I had to cancel the day prior to our installation because we were having an issue getting a part. I called Steve and had no problem with it and just had us call to reschedule when we got everything we needed. He met my husband to do the work and my husband was very impressed with him. He did a great job with the fan and answered a couple of other questions we had as well. We are really happy with Steve and are thrilled to have someone that we feel good about to do electrical work for us in the future.
Description of Work: Steve hung a ceiling fan with a light kit, that also had a remote, on our very tall ceiling. (Probably about 15 feet).

After getting a deal through Angie's list we were hoping to get our project done right away but it took over 2 months for him to contact us back in any way. He apologized and said he was swamped with work and once that was over with, we set a date that he would be by to do it. Once the day came, he was very punctual and professional and got the job done quickly and efficiently. He even quick checked and fixed another issue I had in 5 minutes. He cleaned up his area when finished and was very courteous as well. Outside of the delay in getting a hold of him, it was a great job in every other aspect.

+ -1 moreThere was some confusion between me and the utility company, at first, as to exactly what they where responsible for inside the meter box and what I was responsible for. Once this was cleared up the job went smoothly. Steve came out after the utility company turned the power off. He had gone by the the utility company and gotten a new meter base . He installed the base in short order and I subsequently had the utility company come back ,inspect his work (there were no problems),and turn the power back on.
Description of Work: Steve replaced a defective electric meter base for me. The job required a lot of coordination with the local electric utility company to turn power off and back on and to obtain a new meter base . Steve did a great job .

+ -1 moreHe spoke with us over the phone numerous times, and even came out once, as I recall. It looks like our circuit box can't be replaced due to "code requirements". He made no attempt to contact us further, and my email asking for actual service went unanswered.
Description of Work: No services were performed. However, Steve was very nice and did an estimate for us. I emailed him to ask for the service, but he never replied.

Description of Work: Because I don't live in the city, I was quite clear on the work I wanted done and set a time and date to get it done. Steve shows up only to give an estimate of what I had already explained what i wanted and what it would take to do it. He estimated it would take 3 hours which was an hour more than I had purchased. That was fine because I figured he wasn't getting that much of the coupon money. He ended up taking longer and charged me for 3 1/2 hours after he had said originally he would only charge according to his estimate. I supplied the fixture and most of the needed supplies but still was charged for 59.50 of extras. Positives were that he was pleasant and clean. And did not complain about having to work in a really hot attic.

Description of Work: We had one of your offers for 2 hours of service - which was a great deal. We paid Steve additionally for three extra hours. In that time he and one of his crew: -Installed a new light fixture in the upstairs bathroom. - Removed a chandelier from our staircase and installed brand new lighting on either side of the staircase for safety. They turned out beautiful! - Installed dimmer switches in several light boxes. - Removed old florescent lighting in my office. Installed a brand new, beautiful fixture. The light is incredible. - Fixed a ceiling fan a painting crew destroyed. We liked Steve's work and personality so much we've booked him to come back to install another light in the garage and a new ceiling fan in a bedroom.

+ -1 moreThey were very personable and professional and took care of all that was estimated. The work was completed the same day. They had to go back to their shop to pick up the needed materials, returned and began work immediately. They tested the new wiring to the breaker box as well as the functioning of the air conditioner and have warranted their work for one year. We would not hesitate to call them again. They were the only company we called that we're willing to actually come on site to give an estimate. Other companies either wanted a trip charge to make an estimate or tried to bid it over the phone without actually looking at the area to accurately determine what was needed. Since we found additional problems with our current wiring, that would have incurred additional charges above an initial phone estimate.
Description of Work: We requested an estimate for installing 240 wiring to connect a wall air conditioner that was installed in our Florida room. They came out within a week to give the estimate and found an additional problem with the size of our wiring to the breaker box located behind our well storage tank in the garage. We had them quote bring that wiring up to code as well as the A/C wiring. They made the quote and said they could do the job sometime the next week. When we learned that they could do the job the same day that they quoted it, we gave them the okay to start the job immediately.

He gladly fixed all that i requested in a timely manner. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill was presented. Plan on using him for kitchen/bathroom remodels. He was recomended by a coworker who used him for a kitchen remodel.
Description of Work: Fixed outside pool GFI which controls sprinklers. Tied down pool conduit. Fixed over the garage door flood lights. Disconnected unused electrical lines by pool. Replaced loose kitchen outlet.

+ -1 moreThe work performed by Mr. Ocker was excellent. My only wish was, he was more up front about what work was actually going to be performed as well as the cost to do the work. The approximate cost for materials that would be needed to do the work should have been conveyed to the customer also. I believe it is the responsibility of a contractor to advance that type of information to a customer before any work is performed. Update: Apart from this incident the experience was OK.
Description of Work: PUT COOK TOP ON DEDICATED CIRCUIT APART FROM BUILT IN OVEN. Update: I appreciate Mr. Ocker's reminder of what work needs to be done in the future, but that is not the issue. He did explain what work would be required to this wire. Since he stated this was not something that was urgent or immediate I decided to have this work done at a later date. The issue is the actual work that was performed which was not mentioned. Again I state, I feel it is the responsibiltiy of the contractor to explain and reveal the charges, cost of materials and estimates of how long the work will take before the work is performed. I also have referred to the original receipt written by Mr. Ocker concering his statement regarding the orginal cost he gave me after the work was done. it was $413.50 apart from the $109.00 I had already paid. I would have liked to been made aware of this charge before the work was started and not surprised at the end. Mr. Ocker continued to make statements to the affect "if that is too much I can adjust it, which he did to $350.00. Even after he adjusted the amount to $350.00 he reinterated the statement again. In regard to the charges for labor cost, the customer should not be charged for your clean up time or the amount of time it takes you to write up and figure out
