Robert and Brandon wanted to make sure that their work was done to our standards. When we had problems they actually came out and fixed things so they stood behind their work.

The kitchen is still a work in progress. We had a large problem with Lowe's, as their Interior Design "expert" did not leave enough room for a two hole sink and failed to mention this to us. The sink cabinet is the size of a bathroom vanity, and we were not aware of it until after it was installed. We have the dishwasher on one side of where the sink will be (if we ever get it installed) and had planned to put an ice machine on the other side. Because of this error, we cannot put in the ice machine, and have instead put a matching cabinet there. This way, we can put in a two hole sink, although it will not be perfectly centered under the window. Lowe's DID give us a free 18" to put in place of the ice machine, after we complained and threatened to take the problem to their corporate office and then to the press. In the meantime, we have a useless ice maker in our entryway. I covered it with a table cloth and put potted plants on it for now. I'm not quite sure what we will do with it. But, back to 3D Construction! They were extremely punctual, very professional, and the arches they built are gorgeous! They have come back twice to do little touch ups, even after being paid. It's been my experience that this kind of service is extremely rare. My only complaint on them is extremely minor. One of the helpers spit tobacco juice in one of my trash cans, and it didn't have a liner. I requested that he take it outside and hose it down, which he did. But ewwww......

Overall rating: Excellent. I had three contractors come to look at the project and evaluate what needed to be done. Robert's was not the lowest bid, but was the most thorough. He asked the most questions during the onsite, took photos of the damage, and discussed what else might be damaged once removal began. He was firm that his crew would not fix anything that I did not approve, and he was good to his word on that. He emailed a very detailed estimate within the promised timeframe. The house is older and I wanted everything to be an exact replacement - no difference in look or design. Robert had the sources to get the trim and the wood for the porch ceiling to be a match. The crew took several days to get everything done, but at night all building materials, tools and debris were neatly stacked or bagged on the side of the yard, as much out of sight as possible. When the job was completed, everything was hauled off, the yard raked and cleaned up. It was as though they'd never been there. Robert checked in with me during the repair process to be sure everything was going as expected. He is responsive to email or phone call, as are his crew members. As I said, 3-D was not the lowest bid, but they were definitely the best value for the money - the work is beautiful. 3-D is now going to do additional repair work on another portion of the house and I expect it will be just as well done.

Robert's crew arrived early on the scheduled start date. They quickly set up and started removing all the fascia trim boards around the eves of the house. They also tore out all the old guttering since I had plans on getting new guttering installed. The original agreement was for just the work to be performed on the front of the home and on the South side of the house. After looking it over and talking to Chris, his Crew Leader, I called Robert and got an estimate on replacing the trim boards on the rest of the house. It was in my budget, so I gave them the go-ahead to do it. During this time I also added the wood siding replacement around 2 windows on each side of the fireplace chimney. After the 2nd day of work I found 2 more windows that weren't bad, but needed the wood siding replaced on them. Since it was late at night, I sent Robert an e-mail explaining the repair to him. I also told him in the e-mail that I would mark the 2 windows with tape in the form of a cross so his crew would know which windows it was. The next morning I called Robert about the e-mail and how much more to repair the wood siding on the 2 extra windows. He told me that the 2 windows only needed small replacement pieces because the majority of the siding around them was good. As far as an extra charge for the workmanship; he told me not to worry about it. The price was still the one we agreed upon for the project. After the project was completed and all the clean-up was done, I was given a walk-around of the house to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and to have any questions answered. Also during the repair, Robert was able to set me up with David Parker Painting to get an estimate on painting the whole house. Parker Painting gave me a great price and they also did an excellent job. I posted a report on their Angies List site also. Before I end this report I just want it to be known that when Robert Dalton came out to give me an estimate on this project, there was no contract drawn up. He gave me a price and I hired him on the spot. The only thing in the form of a contract was "a good old fashioned honest handshake" and Robert telling me that I won't be disappointed. I can tell you up front that I would not hesitate to hire 3-D Construction on any future projects that I may have. They are an honest company with quality craftsman.

The renovation turned out better than expected. Robert and his team were professional, punctual and had great attention to detail, especially for the trim carpentry. They arrived as scheduled and cleaned up every evening. They didn't leave until the job was complete and everyone was satisfied. Outstanding Job! Will defininitely hire for future renovation projects.

Excellent work that was punctual and professional. The drywall work was excellent and looked better than the original work done by the initial construction of the house.
