Response from Tile By Tony Inc
Hello, I checked my records to refresh my memory of your job. the date of the work was actually May 2014; not as you stated, April 2015. I have a clear and concise quote and notes for the work we performed in your condo and on your deck. As you will recall, you wanted to install tile on an outside deck that was rotting. I advised you that I could not guarantee the job; however, you insisted that is what you wanted to do. We proceeded with the project as you had already bought the materials. We addressed only the decking, even though I told you the stair case should be rebuilt. You had told me that you had some one to move a large built in wood shelf structure, move the furniture, and reinstall the furniture. When we arrived you asked us to demo the wood structure and move the furniture. Then you asked us to cut down the wood structure, rebuild it, and reinstall the furniture. On the inside, we had to repair a rotten subfloor and install some laminate flooring that you had supplied. You had told me you wanted to supply all the materials. We were also to install a small landing on the stairs. We ran out of the materials that you had supplied and since there was some additional cost for the extra work we had performed you told me not to worry about the landing. We did credit you for that area please check your invoice. If you need a copy let us know and we will be happy to get you one. I used no subcontractors on your job and personally visited with you during the work and upon completion I asked you as I do everyone if you were happy with the result; you said yes. I told you, as I tell all my customers, if at any time you have an issue do not hesitate to call. We are always happy to make repairs and adjustments to any job. We have never heard from you. It sounds like the deck, stairs, steps, and railing have continued to rot and fail. This was not something in our bid and not something you wanted us to repair. As you are aware, the condo requires a large amount of work to address water damage, settling and wood rot. However, if you will call the office to schedule, I will have any issues pertaining to the work we did fixed immediately.
