Tony came by and looked at the "job site", the ceramic tile I had purchased. Tony and his crew were back the next day. They put down plastic over my carpeting and got to work. Everything was done with two days. Tony was here at least three times checking on the status of the job. The whole crew was so professional. They had a crew to take up the old flooring and put down the new, then someone came in and put the molding around the floor back and finally someone who set the toilet. All done for the quote he gave me, which is what I had figured in my head. I would recommend Tile by Tony to everyone. I hope to use them again for my kitchen flooring.

Even with all the challenges an old home can provide, Tony and his team demolished the old surfaces and installed beautiful new surfaces. They were able to easily problem solve through surprises discovered throughout the remodel. They showed up daily and had great attitudes. The team really demonstrated pride in their work. The workmanship was beautiful and very detailed. I would invite them back for another job without hesitation.

If you're looking for quality workmanship and a great group of people to work with, look no further than Tile By Tony. I found Tony here on Angie's list. Within a couple of days of contacting Tony, he came out to the house (on time) and we started the process of figuring out what we wanted to do with our outdated bathroom. After a couple of weeks of back and forth email proposals, we decided on a complete gut-job and remodel. Tony's crew tore out the entire bathroom, moved plumbing for the sinks, shower and tub. Electrical wires were moved for new lights in the ceiling and vanity area. Old wall paper was removed and walls re-skimmed. Baseboards were removed and replaced with new. Crown molding was added throughout. The shower was enlarged slightly, Kerdi waterproof membrane installed on walls and floor, new tile, and a 3/8 inch frameless glass enclosure. The old tub was replaced with an undermount tub with granite on top that extended into the shower stall. The floors were tiled with 20x20 tiles. The vanity and two upper cabinets were replaced with custom-made Knotty Alder wood cabinets (stained and sealed). A nearly 10 foot 3cm granite counter top was installed in one piece (no seams). New mirrors, light fixtures, faucets and toilet were installed as well as a matching stained Knotty Alder tub skirt. The quality of the final job is very impressive. I'm pretty picky when it comes to quality and tend to be a little "over-involved" with the details, but in the end I got the bathroom that I was hoping for. All of Tony's crew members were very polite and a pleasure to work with. They obviously take great pride in their work. The entire construction process took two months. Some of that time was due to holidays and the glass manufacturer had a delay due to faulty glass. Even though the process took a long time, there was someone at the house nearly every day doing something, so there wasn't a lot of non-productive down time. Tony was good at letting me know when someone was going to be at the house and they normally were right on time. If someone was going to be late, I usually got a phone call. I imagine there are contractors out there that are less expensive, but if quality, dependability and responsiveness are important to you then you can't go wrong with Tile By Tony. I highly recommend them.

I am so pleased that I chose Tile by Tony to do this work! Everyone on their crew did an excellent job for us, often going the extra mile. Tony himself was a part of the whole job, helping with the choosing of the granite, working alongside his crew, and offering advice and suggestions. When I had a question about two pieces of granite having too much variation at the seam, he was willing to do whatever it took for me to be happy with it. As it turned out, his granite guy had a trick to darken the lighter side and now you don't even notice the variation. I would highly recommend Tile by Tony and already have hired him to replace countertops and shower wall in two of our bathrooms!
Description of Work: We had granite countertops put in on existing cabinets and a new sink and new stovetop. They also repaired and painted the walls where the tear out left a paint line as well as some extra plumbing in our guest bath.

From the start everyone we dealt with at Tile By Tony was responsive and professional. Tony was quick with a quote, listened to our needs and answered all our questions. The work went very well as all the workers were neat and kept the disruption to a minimum. The end result is a beautiful tile floor that my wife and I have wanted for years. We could have found a cheaper contractor but it has been my experience that you get what you pay for. This job was worth every penny because we now have a beautiful tile floor. Many thanks to Tony all who work for him.

Let me begin by saying when I have the money, I will hire Tony again in a heartbeat. He was hired to do our bathroom. The floor in our 55-yr old house's bathroom collapsed due to excessive water damage. Tony quoted an original price with the caveat that if further damage was found, the price would go up accordingly. Unfortunately, by the time he finished, the price had more thsn doubled, which was NOT Tony's fault.

This is an A+ company. Tony remodeled our kitchen and bathroom last year and we were so pleased with the job we asked him again to do our upstairs bathroom. He gave us a detailed estimate of all the costs which was very helpful. The job was started in a timely manner. All of his personnel has worked for him for many years and they all are top quality people. You would not hesitate to leave them alone in your home. The tile crew did an awesome job . They tiled the floor and back splash of the tub. We were very pleased with the quality of their work. Lonnie removed the popcorn off the ceiling and prepped it for painting. He is a perfectionist and you won't find anyone better for a paint job. Jeff does a little of everything and whatever he did was great. Greg, the plumber, put in a new faucet, tub accessories, and a new stool. He even fixed the faucet in the kitchen which needed to be tightened without me even asking. He just noticed it needing tightening. He was very professional and a job well done. The crew cleaned up each day when they left for the day. The job took approximately 4 days and it couldn't have been better. There was no lag time between jobs. Tony was always there to check on how all was going. We did have a couple other estimates and I will admit they were somewhat cheaper, but often times you get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed with this group.

The bathroom was a dungeon. The house was built about 1994 and showed it. We contacted TBT and began the process. Prompt and courteous service. Lots of preliminary work and phone calls to get the quote right. He didn't want to start the work until there was a pretty good idea of what we were looking for. He visited us and we visited the showroom to hammer out the details. We agreed on many things as well as the quoted price. Old houses and remodeling hold many unknowns which we were prepared for. As the work started things fell into place. Yep there were some surprizes and TBT worked with us to get through them. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and drywall each had their challenges. All were successfully completed. It has been an outstanding job. We have had more positive comments from neighbors and friends. Service after the job has also been excellent. We are fully satisfied with the work that was completed. Yes we did run over budget but the finished job is outstanding. You get what you pay for.

The quality of work was great. His employees were late one day, we tried to discuss the time that they would be there the next day but they did not speak english. Somehow in the confusion, they did not show up on the scheduled day the next time so we had to take an additional day off work for our project. Tony was near impossible to get ahold of on the phone. Overall, we were very pleased with how it turned out but we would strongly caution someone to get all of the details worked out from the beginning as communicating with anyone in the middle will be very difficult.

Response from Tile By Tony Inc
[Member name removed], I am sorry you were less than 100% satisfied with the job we did. As you know I personally accompany all my crews to each job and spend time discussing and Laying out the job. There is someone at the showroom answering phones from 8 to 5 M-F who can answer most questions or reach me for answers . Futhermore I give all customers we do jobs for my cell number so they may contact me directly if they feel the need to. My crews of course also have that number and though there may be small language barriers on some crews due to the diverse society we now live in. They all know how to reach me. We are usually very punctual to a job, or we will call and advise you of any delays. Things can and do happen when trying to pick up materials or travel through traffic . I always answer my phone unless Im on a call or talking to a customer, in which case I always return calls promptly. We pride ourselfs in our communication. I always personally go by and check on ongoing and completed jobs to verify quality, cleanup and customer satisfaction. I do not recall you bringing any issue to my attention, I have checked our phone log book for any messages I might have missed or may not have been given and have not found any report. I am not sure how we failed so badly to serve you. I can only offer my sincerest apologies. Please feel free to contact me directly, if you don't have cell number my office will provide it for you. At very least let me offer you a 15% discount on any future work. Your satisfaction is paramount.

Tony had several crews to do the different aspects of the work. A machine was used to filter the air particles generated by the work. Base boards were temporarily removed. They then moved the furniture out of the dining room, stripped the carpeting, and laid down new wood floor. Furniture was then put back in place, base boards were restored and refinished, or replaced. The base of a dining room cabinet was fixed, and pads were installed on feet of all the dining room furniture. Next, the kitchen, half-bath, and utility room had refrigerator, washer, dryer, and toilet temporarily moved from their locations. Base boards were temporarily removed, and linoleum was then stripped from all three areas, and tile was laid down diagonally, as requested. The refrigerator, washer, and dryer were then reinstalled in their locations. The toilet was reinstalled by a certified plumber. All debris was promptly removed before personnel left each day. The work was done in five days and at the original price, as originally estimated. All personnel were very friendly, professional, and punctual. They even made one or two return visits to fix minor things that had been accidentally missed in original installation. Tony returned several times to oversee the work and consult with us. All work done was excellent, and we are very happy with the results. We recommend Tile by Tony very highly for any such work.

When I called Tile by Tony about getting an estimate an appointment was set up by Sonya in the office for an evening appointment. First impression was great when Tony arrived exactly at the appointment time. He took his time to really understand everything I was thinking about doing. Very professional. In a day and a half I had an extremely detailed estimate of what I wanted. Each item was detailed with a price so I could immediately tell where all the costs were. And when I decided not to do some of the things listed I knew exactly how much to subtract from the estimate. I received a new estimate which was the exact cost I figured. There were a couple of items I hadn't thought about, each detailed with a price that turned out to be well worthwhile in regard to keeping my house in good shape. They were covering the floor and walkways where workers would be, construct a plastic tent between work area and living area to keep dust contained, install 3 stage Hepa air scrubber filter to collect and contain dust. These steps kept our house in great shape during the entire process. Amazed at how little dust we found. A temporary wall was built while the wall above the kitchen counter between the kitchen and living room was removed. A header had to be installed since it was a weight bearing wall. A vent stack was found in the wall that had to be relocated and a studder valve installed by plumber. This was one of those things that required additional cost because there was no way to know it would be there. The first day two men showed up to put down the floor covering and install the tent. They were very nice and really took their time to make sure it was done right. The next day the tear out started by Lonnie. Very professional and efficient. Tony came by to see how things were going. Over the next two weeks Lonnie and Charlie, who helped Lonnie, took the wall out, did new sheet rock, created the arch which totally opened up our kitchen, which is what we wanted to do. Mud and tape the wall over three days to make sure it was just right. Textured the wall. Installed two led can lights in kitchen. Installed an electrical outlet in bottom cabinet for small wine cooler and had electrician fix an electrical problem in living room chandelier to get two switches to work correctly. The guys that did the work were terrific and Tony came by every day to check on the progress and make sure everything was going to my satisfaction. I really felt the guys were working to make sure everything was done correctly and not just to get done and move on the next job. I had other estimates that were less but I really feel paying a true professional more was really worth it to make sure the work was done right. My wife and I are very happy with the finished product.
Description of Work: Took out wall between kitchen and living room and constructed an arch. Installed two led can lights in kitchen. Put in electrical outlet in bottom cabinet so we could plug in a small wine cooler. Move one kitchen cabinet to another room and install. Install 3 corbels for bar area where granite is to be installed. Trouble shot electrical problem in living room and corrected double switch which didn't work. This is the short version. See below for more details.

We found our re-do experience with Tile By Tony to be very successful and most enjoyable. His very professional and efficient team of skilled people who worked at our home were wonderful. They took great care with their individual tasks including the demolition as well as the cleanup. The work time wise went exactly as Tony said it would be. We are so very very pleased and proud of the end result. Our kitchen looks beautiful. Both my husband and myself would not hesitate to recommend him and his company . We would also like to compliment his office staff also. They are always extremely helpful. We started by going to his store to pick the floor tile and granite. We then met Tony at the supplier to pick the exact piece of granite. I think it was Verona marble co. We picked out the tile for the back splash at Emser. The had a great selection. Everything was done in a week. Counter top was done first the floor tile second and back splash last. It took a few days for them to cut and shape the granite. But when they started it went fast taking only 5 days from tear out to completion. Excellent work.

Tile By Tony, Inc were very knowledgeable, very reputable, and if I had to do it over again I would have hired them to do the job. The name of their company is a little misleading because hey really are a full service remodeling company. They know what they're doing, I just didn't know of them before I hired this other firm to do it. I knew there was something wrong and when I couldn't get the remodeler's attention about issues I could see that weren't being addressed I called another company. I was very impressed by Tony. One of his estimators came out and they were very helpful in helping me understand what the issues were. It was a very good quote. I felt like it was reasonable considering the fact that they have experience in installing a particular brand of shower system I have and well in line with competitors. They gave me a quote of what it would cost to do the quote even though there was no promise of any business in it for them.

Tony was the only one of four companies to respond to a request for an estimate. The job was small and the price was quite reasonable. This was a big project and they worked diligently at it. There was some one working every day. I was told ahead who would be coming and at what time. They always showed up when they said they would. There was none of the typical do something one day and then not come back again for several days. I was amazed at how little mess there was even though they were tearing out so much. At the end of every day everything was swept clean before they left. It was refreshing to find people that take such pride in their work. Tony came almost every day to make sure everything was going well and point out anything he didn't think was up to par. These were the nicest people and did a really good job. Any questions I had were addressed promptly and with respect. They didn't give condescending excuses, but always answered with a positive "we can fix it" kind of answer.
Description of Work: Complete demo and remodel master bath. Tore out shower down to studs, rebuilt with good pitch. Tore out soffit over shower and rerouted plumbing that was hidden in the soffit. New tile on floors, new frameless shower door, granite countertop with sink and new vanity and wall cabinet. Wallpaper was removed, wall repaired, skim coated and painted. New toilet and all fixtures replaced. The upstairs bath was also updated with all new tile, tub, granite counter with sink, toilet and fixtures. The soffit was also removed and a window was put in. We also had a door cut into the attic and floor installed for easy storage.

If you want the expertise of polite, professional workers; if you want to feel safe and secure when strangers walk in and out of your house—in your absence; if you want to know that your every question, your every phone call, your every email will be answered in twenty-four hours or less, mostly less; if you need inspired designs and dazzling details, then Tile by Tony is the first (and only) place to call. From the initial phone call to the last visit, everyone we spoke to, everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, polite, and completely professional with years of experience. Our bathroom was gutted and completely renovated with people as much invested in the outcome as my husband and I. Our next remodel will absolutely go to the fabulous crew at TilebyTony. The whole project was completed in less than 3 weeks! I visited the showroom and was greeted very warmly and helpfully. The woman in the store helped me with coorindating materials. Also when we started the project, she kept me apprised of the schedule. I selected a few samples and made an appointment for an in home consultation. The guy who set up the project, took initial measurements and after I chose the type of material I wanted, gave me a very detailed estimate for the project. He even gave me some ideas of how to better utilize the granite. At first the price seemed high (I had had other estimates from other places), but then I realized that they had included everything needed to complete the project including other needed pieces of the project not on the other estimates, like baseboard removal and replacement and plumbing removal and replacement. After I selected the exact materials I wanted, the project contract was presented and it was very close to the estimate. At the end the only extra money I paid was for a few items I added to the project after the contract was signed. They started the very next week! The whole demo was huge and they did it very carefully and considerately. The crew was professional and obviously knew what they were doing. They answered all of my questions and I felt at ease with them. Tony visited the site every workday to make sure that both he and I were pleased with the work. I thought that I was fussy, but Tony saw things that I did not. Tony made sure that I understood what was happening and if I wanted something changed, he made it happen if he could. To add to the difficulty we saw that the walls were not true nor square. Also the whole time all the crews were very careful not to track stuff into the house. (Aside to anyone using Tony: you do not have to be there the whole time they are there, if you can be flexible they will get your project done quickly. I saw that he tries to use his crews efficiently.) They first removed the baseboards and powder room plumbing and then moved the refrigerator to another part of the house so that we could still use it. They draped the other parts of the house without doors with sheets of plastic to cut the dust traveling and covered the cabinets with plastic to keep the dust out of the cabinets. They put the washer and dryer in the garage and then removed the ceramic tile floor. (Aside to anyone having this kind of work done: I left everything in the kitchen cabinets and drawers and carefully covered them with trash bags. That worked pretty well. It was easier than packing everything up, but either way you have some work to do with that.) My project was not an easy one with lots doorways and lots of odd angles and lots of carpet edges, but they were able to put down an absolutely beautiful and well laid floor. His tile guys are great. They also helped me select the grout color. Next they removed the backsplash and countertops and the gas range. They worked very hard at leaving me a functional kitchen as much of the time as possible. The granite guys that they have were almost magicians at working with the tricky angles in our countertops and walls. The measurements and installation were perfect including a new granitelike sink. A little touchup paint and the undertrim for the cabinets was all that was needed. The undercabinet lights were permantly installed. The tile guys came back and installed the tumbled marble backspash. They put the tile at the diagonal and also a few accent tiles and switch plates were installed. Last but not least came all the replacement work. The carpet guy reedged all the many tile to carpet edges. The plumber reinstalled all the fixtures in the powder room and the new fixture in the kitchen and the new sink hookup. And of course the carpenter replaced all the baseboards and the many other touchup things that were needed. The fridge and laundry room appliances were also put back in place. Since the floor was so large, I had them seal the grout. They did it all: professionally and much faster that I ever dreamed that it could be done! Now my kitchen and connecting rooms look so wonderful! They look so perfectly coordinated that several asked if we had replaced the cabinets also. Thanks to Tony and all his people we are enjoying a much more beautiful home.
Description of Work: We had 500 square feet of ceramic tile in connecting rooms removed and then new 20 x 20 porcelain tile laid in a diagonal pattern. The rooms were a powder room, front entry and hallway, kitchen, breakfast room and laundry room. We also had the backsplash and countertops removed and had them replaced with tumbled marble backspashwith new switch covers and granite countertops. We also had permanent under cabinet lighting installed. Also a new Blanco sink and kitchen faucet was installed.

Once we contacted them, they visited quickly for the estimate and once we agreed to proceed the installation happened within a few days as we desired. The workers showed up on time and made sure they understood the fairly complicated pattern we wanted before proceeding. They worked off a photo we had showing roughly what we wanted with tile inserts within the main field of tile. We had purchased the tile and inserts previously and were actually a few short on the detail pieces. Tile by Tony did a great job of using what we had and making it look perfect. The tile was installed on one day and they returned the next for the grout. Workers very good at cleaning up after the job.
Description of Work: We hired Tile by Tony to install a new tile backsplash behind our sink and stove area.

My interaction with him was fine. He was prompt and he came out within a couple of days of me calling him, which was around Christmas time. The price he quoted me was not bad, but ultimately we decided to do it ourselves. If I was going to do the project, I would use him.
Description of Work: Tile By Tony came out around Christmas last year and he gave me an estimate to put ceramic tile, shower and sanity.
