Never have interacted face to face. Always friendly over the phone. Lawn looks great under this company care.

Had previously talked to RLT about services. I saw they were working across the street and told them I was going to use their services. As a result, they went ahead and completed the applications despite not being on schedule.

Our lawn looks healthier in 6 months than it did for 4 years with the previous company. They also referred an arborist that did an excellent job trimming trees for a fair price.

He explained to me from beginning to end the way things worked. What the prices of the different replacement parts would be. And finally when the work was done it was done very professionally and met all of my expectations.

Technician was very timely, friendly and professional. Quickly troubleshot the problem and replaced the sprinkler system master valve; took less than 30 minutes. Sprinkler system now back in service.

I had another service, but changed to quickly. They are great and very conscientious and communicated very well.

Was on time, performed quickly kept Gates closed so dogs want get out. Left instruction on water and Carl.

We used the service for years and are very satisfied with our beautiful lawn. He tells us each time exactly what he has done and how to maintain to keep healthy.

They came out immediately and removed the debris and cut the stump down to ground level. They arranged for underground lines to be marked before grinding the stump and came out promptly after this was done. They were professional and friendly and did excellent work. I would use them again.

After I moved this address tried several lawn services. Introduced to this company by guy who moved for. Ronnie is great to work with. Asks for permission with each and every application.

This is a weekly service that is ongoing during the summer. Always show up at appointed dates and time. Good job. Fair price.

Got an estimate from Tom a couple days after calling and work was scheduled with a three week wait.Crew showed as promised and they worked a few hours and clarified with me exactly what I wanted done.This company was first rate from estimate,office telephone staff and tree workers.And the cost was in the low bid range.

When they need to they let me know whey they are coming and do their work. My lawn looks great.

Everything about the service was excellent except for the cost. The service call was scheduled promptly. The technician, Lupe, was on time, looked and acted professionally and was very pleasant to deal with. I'm having trouble understanding the cost of this work, $285.91. As a business professional I understand that there are many components to providing quality service (labor, overhead, materials, etc.) and I try to look at it from the business owner's perspective. In this case, the materials involved were minimal; probably less than $20 and I live 4.3 miles from the Reid office so maybe $10 for vehicle costs. That still leaves about $250 for labor and overhead. This work took about 1-1/2 hours. Even if I assume 1/2 hour in travel time that comes to about $125/hour and that seems excessive to me. I checked with my A/C repair guys and they charge $85/hour.

Jose arrived as scheduled, He did a quick overview of the system and wrote up a written estimate. Estimate was reasonable and work was performed efficiently with many improvements made to the irrigation system coverage. Jose was very personable and professional.

I saw a neighbor's yard and loved the way it looked. Very green and lush. I stopped and asked who they used. I called their lawn fertilizer/weed control service and it was Ryan Lawn and Tree. They gave me a free estimate and address referrals of other lawns that had the same type of grass we had. We loved it. They have treated our lawn ever since, about 2 years now.

It was a great experience. Jose was so professional and timely. He listened to all our concerns, did a complete evaluation and then gave us a written cost estimate explaining everything they would do. They came on time and worked hard the whole time they were here. After the work was completed, the company called to ask if we were pleased with the service. Jose will be returning in a few days to make sure everything is still working satisfactorily. You can't ask for better customer service. We will always use this company in the future for any irrigation needs.

Lawn fertilization program is going very well - good organization

After submitting a request for quote online, we got a prompt quote as well as a followup call. We chose Ryan and were told to expect about three weeks before service could be performed. As it turned out, they were able to come out a little over a week later. We got a call asking if the date was acceptable, which it was. When the two workers arrived, I did a walkthrough of the yard to be clear about which areas needed which service. They performed the work quickly and professionally. I was left with an invoice, which I could pay by mail or over the phone.

I called Ryan Lawn and Tree to ask about getting an estimate. They sent an arborist out the same afternoon. He gave me a bid on the tree trimming and also informed me that two pine trees which we were not having trimmed had a fungus and that was why they were not showing new growth this year. He explained that if we did not have them sprayed they would attract beetles that would kill them. These trees were transplanted 20 years ago from my grandfather's farm and are of great sentimental value. I appreciated his noticing this problem and bringing it to my attention. Within a week he had someone out for the first of three sprayings of the pines. We have now had them sprayed twice and they are already showing new growth! He also gave me an estimate of $550 on the tree trimming and said someone could come out in about three weeks. Sure enough, three weeks later we received a call that they would be out on Friday, the 8th. They did a great job! We can easily walk under the trees now and sunlight is now able to get to the grass under the trees. We still have plenty of shade, but the inside of the trees can get more air and sunshine. We were gone when the work was done and came back to only a few small twigs in the front yard even though there had to have been piles of branches since extensive trimming was done. Really? I called Kansas City's Ryan Lawn and Tree in early May asking for an estimate to trim my trees back away from my house, which was originally supposed to have been done by another contractor last year when I had a tree removed. The original contractor had done MINIMAL work and so the squirrels (who are the source of my problem, having taken up residence in my attic, eating wires and causing other damages) continue to have access to our roof and, subsequently, our attic. Mark came to our house on May 10th, 2012 to give me an estimate on tree trimming and lawn fertilization/seeding. I told Mark about the other contractor and asked him, as an expert, to estimate what it would cost to trim all trees, allowing access to our roof by the squirrels, enough so the squirrels would not have access for several years to come. Mark?s estimate was not cheap, coming in at $375, but it was worth it to me to stop the squirrels from damaging our home any further. He gave me the estimate and a very rudimentary drawing showing what work would be performed. I called the following week to set up an appointment and was told it would be 3-4 weeks. I received a call on May 24th stating that they could come on Tuesday, May 28th and so I agreed. The woman on the phone could not narrow down the hours they would be there, stating it would be ?that afternoon?. I had things to do that afternoon, but my wife was home. She said that two guys arrived at 2 PM and never bothered ringing the bell or letting us know they were to start working. She left a while later on an errand and when she returned at 3:30PM, they were long gone. $375 for an hour and a half?s worth of work seemed a bit extreme, coming to $250 per hour?quite pricey for unskilled labor and considering that I am a licensed psychotherapist with a masters degree and 30 years experience and make only HALF THAT MUCH! Once I started looking at their work, I noticed that they had trimmed the wrong tree and did not trim two that were on the estimate. I also noticed that there are two trees next to the house that still allow the squirrels? access to the roof; trees I had assumed were included in the pricey estimate. I called Mark on Wednesday, May 29th and left a message explaining the problems in detail. He called m back and said that someone would be in touch with me that afternoon. I finally got a voicemail from a guy named Spencer on May 31st stating ?I understand you have some questions, if you still have questions, call me back?? I didn?t have questions, I had a job that was incomplete and I wanted it done correctly, so I called Spencer back and left another detailed message. He never called me back. Instead, ?Matt and Augie? showed-up unannounced and while we were gone on June 4th, trimming one of the trees that should have been done the first time, but leaving the other tree untouched and having done nothing with the other two (which Mark apparently missed in his original estimate). I had asked Mark and Spencer if I could have those trees done instead of the maple (which is distant from the house), but nobody bothered taking the time to contact me to find out what exactly my concerns were. For $375, I expected a thorough and professional estimate and work, neither of which occurred. I have spent the better part of this week and too much of my life dealing with incompetent businesses, businesses that do not have a clue what customer service and satisfaction are, treating us with disdain instead of courtesy and dignity. This was the last straw! Bottom Line: For $375, I expected a much more thorough job and a result which will protect my roof and attic for years to come. Instead, I got a half-a** job and additional pruning to do. After I pay the inflated bill, I think I?ll go to Home Depot to get the equipment and do it myself because I SEEM TO BE THE ONLY PERSON I CAN TRUST TO DO THE JOB THE RIGHT WAY! I am cancelling my lawn fertilization and seeding program with Ryan Lawn and Tree, who will receive a D (at best) from me on Angie?s List for wasting my time, doing a poor, overpriced job, and being unable to communicate clearly with a customer when they (me) had a valid complaint. PS - I sent the information above to Ryan Lawn and Tree on June 5th, allowing them an opportunity to reach out and try to sooth an unhappy customer. They obviously could care less, which tells us quite a bit about how they operate. Take that into consideration when hiring a lawn and tree contractor in Kansas City. Update 9/3/12:This review is in response to Ryan Lawn and Tree's "Company Response" posted on Angie's list to placate customers into believing that they did nothing wrong, even stating that they "contacted me" and offered to "perform additional services free of charge"...both OUTRIGHT LIES! As I stated in my previous review.I sent the information in that review to Ryan Lawn and Tree on June 5th, allowing them an opportunity to reach out and try to sooth an unhappy customer. They obviously could care less and did not respond to me, which tells me quite a bit about how they operate. Take that into consideration when hiring a lawn and tree contractor in Kansas City.Ryan Lawn and Tree did respond to my complaint on Angie's List, stating:"Company Response:Member,I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with Ryan Lawn and Tree. We have made every effort to provide you with the highest quality service. Our initial bid outlined exactly which trees were to be pruned and after our Arborist Mark Bartlow spoke with you we came back to your property to fix the damage. When we realized you were still unhappy with the service you had received an offer to perform any additional services free of charge was made."Every effort to provide you with the highest quality service"? Is this what they call high quality service? Just weeks after their "high quality service", which was performed specifically to rid the squirrels from our roof where they were doing a great deal of damage, they had returned...because of Ryan's "HIGH QUALITY WORK"! They also lied because I called Mark Barlow and he passed me off to "Spencer", a person I never spoke with! And their claims that they offered "additional services free of charge" is just plain and unequivocal BS...they never contacted me again, so how could they make such an offer? They are not only incompetent, THEY ARE LIARS, LYING TO ANGIE'S LIST READERS IN ORDER TO MAKE IT LOOK AS IF IT WAS SOMEHOW NOT THEIR FAULT!On September 2nd, after two days of torrential rain, I noticed a large amount of attic insulation on the ground next to the Blue Spruce (which was never trimmed, even though it was on the estimate) adjacent to our garage. As I stood there, a squirrel, the one in the photo above, easily jumped from a nearby branch of that same spruce and on to our roof. To my horror, it was the then that I noticed a brand new, gaping hole (and some insulation) in our roof just above the rain gutters and next to that very same tree. At that point, I decided to have a better look around our home and found two more new access points where the squirrels had damaged our home to gain entry to our attic.The first was on one of our chimneys in a spot which had been sealed and repaired last year due to squirrel damage and the reason we hired Ryan Lawn and Tree to fix the problem, trimming all trees allowing access to our roof and eliminating any ADDITIONAL DAMAGE. The squirrels had caused thousands of dollars in damage to our attic, stealing our insulation over the year so it was down to hardly anything, and eating the rubber casings on our wiring, a definite safety issue and very expensive job to fix.In a nutshell, Ryan Lawn and Tree gouged us for the work they performed, they did not completely perform the work that was estimated and paid for, and they lied to Angie's List customers when they said they contacted me and offered free services to make things right...IS THIS THE KIND OF BUSINESS YOU WANT COMING TO YOUR HOME?If necessary, we will file a lawsuit, possibly in small claims court depending on the amount of damage, once we get estimates to repair the damage caused by the gross negligence of Ryan Lawn and Tree. We have ample documentation to prove our case. Because Angie's List does not allow photos or the ability to respond to the lies of contractors making "responses", you can read the whole story as well as view photos of the damage, estimates, and invoices, clearly proving our claims and case against Ryan Lawn and Tree. I challenge them to follow through with their "claimed" offer to make things right, finish the job completely (what we paid for), and pay for the damages to our home...caused by the squirrels which ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON OUR ROOF! If they make good before the end of September 2012, I will not need to file a lawsuit and will gladly post a more positive follow-up review. Based on previous experience with this contractor, they "talk the talk", but have yet to "walk the walk"...we'll see!

Arrived on time, did a the best aiming job we have had, readjusted each sprinkler head , replaced one sprinkler and moved and replaced another. Repaired yard turf damaged by replacing sprinklers.

They are punctual and reliable. I highly recommend them.
