Great! He was very helpful and worked very hard when he showed up. He actually saved me a lot of money by getting the job done way before his estimate.

They quoted a fair price and within days the job had been completed. The men were courteous and friendly as well as very thorough in the clean up. Would use them again and also give others their number.

They are very professional. However, they are quite expensive ($900 for 8 treatments) and struggle to get the backyard as weed-free as the front. There is night and day difference between the two yards. Their prices increase each year for the same service. Unfortunately, I am forced to start looking for another company with same service.

It took a few weeks to get someone to come out. Once on site, the technician was very courteous, friendly and professional. The work was done quickly and cleanly. I was very impressed. When he was done, he handed me two invoices, one for a $65 service charge and one for $180 for the repairs, which I considered fair. The $65 service charge invoice said on it, we turned on the water and checked for leaks, adjusted heads, rotors and nozzles and set controller for maximum water utilization. None of those things were done. I did not ask for those things to be done and the technician did not offer to do them. Within a week or two, I paid the $180 but did not pay the $65. A while later, I received a reminder that I still owed the $65.00, plus interest. I called to get an explanation. I was told that much like a plumber, there is a charge just for someone to show up. They said, because I was "confused" about it, they would take it off of my account and that in the future, it would cost $65 for someone to come to my house plus the cost of any work done. I appreciate that they gave me credit for not understanding their system. However, I have a plumber, a heating and air guy and an electrician. They all charge me hourly for labor, plus parts. On occasion, I have been charged when I have asked for an estimate. Sometimes, estimates are free. When I asked my coworkers about their experiences, the consensus was that they do business with companies that charge for their work, not just for showing up.
Description of Work: Sprinkler system leaking in the back yard. Another connection was broken and in need of repair. I was advised during one of the original phone conversations that there would be a $65 service charge. I assumed that I would be charged at least that much for the person to come out but if work ended up being done, it would be applied to the charge for the work.

My entire front yard almost died. It was just my front yard. It's kind of hard to blame anybody. They do the back too, the backyard didn't die. Between my neighbors house and my house there is kind of a distinct line where my yard started. They told me that they may have put too much fertilizer.

I called Ryan Lawn and Tree to winterize my lawn last winter. Bob Prudenz was my service person. As far as I could tell, all he did was turn off the water to my system. I was surprised that he did not take down my back flow device, as I had been previously instructed to do. He told me that it was not necessary. This summer, I had him come back out to do a tune up and turn my system back on in August. He made a few minor sprinkler head repairs, and told me that's things were good to go. To my surprise, about 2 weeks later, I came home to find water gushing out from my back flow device. The water made a small pond and leaked into my basement -- I never had this even with the ridiculously wet spring and summer we had this year. I asked them to check my back flow device. And he did, but he charged me $86 to tell me know that my device was working normally -- but he recommended some repairs ($300-$600) because the rubber components were slightly cracked (from freezing in the winter?). Sorry, but 2000 gallons (I know from my warer bill) gushing out of a back-lit device is not normal! But I believed him at the time, when he told me that my system was back up and running -- except my grass kept dying throughout the last couple of months. The last straw was today. I got a call from my neighbors that my sprinklers had been on nonstop all day since 630 in the morning. I work hard. I do not have time to keep a close eye on every aspect my maintaining my home, which is why I am willing to pay extra for knowledgeable and dependable service. Ryan lawn and Tree let me down -- a half dead lawn and hundreds of dollars in wasted water. I will never hire these people again. Buyer beware!!

Response from Ryan Lawn and Tree
Hello Mrs. [Member Name Removed]. First let me say that I am incredibly sorry for your bad experience with Ryan Lawn and Tree. It is never our intention to purposefully neglect or misinform a customer to gain profit. I emailed the head of our irrigation department about your unpleasant experience and this was his response: "The type of backflow that Mr. Xing has is an RP (Reduced Pressure Principle Assembly) which is designed to discharge water to prevent contamination from being pulled back into the drinking supply. The two most common reasons for RP devices discharging is a loss in supply side pressure (meaning the house or city side of the water service), or there can be a piece of debris stuck in the first check valve. Andy turned the system off in 2014. Removing the backflow would not prevent either of the possibly reasons for a backflow to discharge. The cracked rubber rings are the result of time not the result of being winterized improperly. It takes a few years but rubber drys out over time without moisture. When Bob turned the system on August 20th he checked the system every head, and every zone. He replaced a couple broken spray heads, and at that time the backflow preventer was working fine. When Bob went back on September 11th the first ball valve was turned off. When Bob turned the the first ball valve back on watering did not gush out of the backflow. Bob proceeded then to turn on each zone to try to get the backflow preventer to do it again. Everything worked and the backflow did not discharge water. (It's kind of like when you take your car in to the mechanic and it doesn't make the noise that it was making before.) His recommendation was to replace the RP Backflow Device with a Double Check Backflow Device that does not discharge so that this wouldn't happen in the future. Unfortunately until this review we were not aware of the dry areas or the valve sticking on. It's hard to say what exactly caused either issue in hind sight. It could have been any one of several issues. We would be more than happy to meet with the customer on sight and explain all of this in person. It is never our intention to take advantage or let our customers down. Our goal is to treat our customers like they are our family and friends. Seems like a communication break down was the ultimate problem here and a face to face meeting may have helped alleviate this." If you would like to have an associate meet you at your property and go over your system face to face, give us a call at 913-381-1505.

REID was very punctual, and as their standard of practice, did a complete check on my entire system. Juan came back to me in about 30 minutes and walked me through what needed repaired and the cost. They repaired 3 zones, which cost me just $225.00. I personally wanted to update my controller (mine was over 15 years old) and they did that as well on the same day and call for $307. In all, I am EXTREMELY pleased. Very affordable and very competent. Juan and his apprentice did a great job. I Highly recommend REID IRRIGATION, 2301 N. Beech Ave. Broken Arrow, OK. 918-836-4007
Description of Work: I had REID's Irrigation out to check a automatic sprinkler system of mine where a "zone" was staying on through the entire cycle. I also wanted to up grade to a newer controller if cost permitting.

Have used them for several years for lawn and tree care. Also had them redo mulch this year. Because of moving have discontinued their service. Have used them for tree pruning as well. Although a little higher in price than other companies, the extra money was worth it. Have used cheaper services in the past that were unsatisfactory. Ryan's was responsive to any problems. Kept the lawn and trees in great shape. Was careful with their mulch job not to injure plants or leave a mess.

I was very impressed with Ryan, the Turf Manager in the initial interview. I wanted the lawn people to stay away from my shrubs, perennials and trees and stressed that in the interview. I chose him because I truly believed that he would follow my wishes. We prepaid for two lawn treatments plus the Emerald Ash Borer treatment. The work was done within a few weeks. Although I happened to be home at the time the workmen did not notify me of their presence. A few days after the treatment the weeds began a visible die off. Unfortunately, so did some of my other plants. We have a beautiful Japanese Maple that had been looking quite gorgeous because of the rain. It is now showing signs of die off--weakness and crinkled leaves. They sprayed too close to my lovely Ninebark shrub and it is now showing signs of stress. Whole sections of my groundcover roses turned yellow. I had to cut them back quite a bit. I think we will probably cancel that second lawn treatment and try to get our prepayment back. I don't think our lawn can use any more help from the people at Ryan Lawn & Tree.

Gino and the crew were very professional and fast. I had just had my lawn mowed before they arrived and I was amazed that their cleanup work was excellent. After they left, my lawn didn't look like anyone was here. Ryan Lawn will trim my crab apple trees in the fall including removing one of them. I have used Ryan Lawn before for trimming and they always do a great job.
