Caleb and his crew refinished some very beat-up wood floors. Mayo Brothers was excellent in all aspects of the job from the initial estimate through the final cleanup. The floors look like new and perfect in every way. I would highly recommend Mayo Brothers for any job .

Caleb Mayo came out and measured, listened to what we were wanting to do and made recommendations on installing our new floors. His crew showed up and finished the job in one day. They did an amazing job fitting the wood around our rock fireplace, and overall, the floors look beautiful. The experience was one of the best we have ever had with work performed on our home. They are very particular that the job is done correctly, and you are satisfied. I would definitely use them again.

Our experience working with Caleb at Mayo Brothers was excellent. Caleb quoted a job for me and then I had to delay the work due to issues with closing on the house. Despite the delay, he was ready to start work on Saturday morning after I closed on the house late Friday. The entire crew was courteous and considerate while working in our home and cleaned up each day before leaving. They showed up when expected and completed the work quickly. Caleb was very responsive in answering all of our questions and addressing any concerns that we had. He helped us choose the right color for the stain so that it would blend well with the cabinets and also with the furniture. Our floors look fabulous, and we would highly recommend Mayo Brothers to anyone we know who want to have wood floors installed and/or refinished.

Caleb, who is the owner of Mayo Bros. Wood Flooring, was wonderful. He had given me numerous quotes and very promptly. He kept me informed with the entire process and was present every day to make sure everything ran smoothly. He is very knowledgeable. He told us the grade and type of wood that we should use so the flooring would match the existing floors that we have in other rooms. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

Caleb was very professional and punctual. He came by and looked the place over one afternoon and had me an estimate by the time I woke up and checked my email the next morning. Of all the quotes that I initially received, he gave the best price and time to complete the work. I was ready to give him this job when a former company required their price and raise to complete the work to match Caleb, and they also offered an interest - free financing options. That was too big of a deal to pass up, so I went with someone else. I really wanted Caleb to get this job and I highly recommend him to others thinking if doing flooring work.

From quotation to installation, the work was professionally crafted and handled with care and concern for the details that were important to me. Because I was a novice with home repair, time was taken to provide me with information on wood grades, finishes, and procedures for the quoted project. My home and furnishings were treated with care and were returned to the exact place I had them before the move. I felt comfortable with the service and workmanship and would highly recommend the Mayo Bros. Wood Floors to all. I was especially pleased when the owner took the time to purchase for me, his recommended products to properly clean and care for my new floors, and to make sure I understood that if I had any questions or concerns, I was to call.

We had 2.25" wood in the entry and foyer of our 8 year old home and were originally going to pull it up and have 3'-4" wood planks installed throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen and office and entry. We took 5 bids from various contractors, weren't terribly impressed with any of their products or prices, and eventually decided that real wood had a richer appearance and provided the benefit of being able to sand and re-stain and/or re-polish after a couple of years. We took bids from 3 companies for the work and chose Mayo Brothers because their bid was the lowest, they were most highly recommended on Angie's list, and Caleb Mayo simply impressed us as the one person we could trust to do the best job for us. We were not disappointed. Caleb and his team did an excellent job and exceeded all of our expectations. Caleb came by and checked on his team several times per day, did much of the work himself, and called and texted constantly to keep us informed of their progress. They took great care to cover and tape off the cabinets and hallways to other areas of the home so as to keep dust to a minimum. They worked through both the Christmas and New Year's holidays and showed up on time even in the ice and snow. We have security cameras in our home and were able to watch the progress while we were away. They were true craftsmen and professionals in the way that they carried out their work. We had only one minor concern with the appearance of one of the baseboards and Caleb came out himself on a Saturday to replace it at no charge. Our real wood, hand-scraped, hand-stained floors are an absolute work of art and we couldn't be more pleased. We highly recommend Caleb and Mayo Brothers and assure you that if you use them, you will not be disappointed. .

Caleb was punctual to provide an estimate and talked through our options with the floor. It's an old house with the original(ish) hardwood flooring that really needed some TLC. I appreciated his honesty about the back area of our house that had served as the original back deck with a plywood door that provides access to the basement. We had wanted to have it refinished if possible, but after talking with Caleb, it would have required far more work and expense than we wanted to invest in that area. We also had new hardwoods installed in one bedroom and refinished the rest of the floors in the remainder of the house. The second bedroom had been covered in carpet and the original hardwood flooring had been painted a flat brown color. The whole process took three days - from start to completion. Our floors look great. We were able to look at several different stain options and the new flooring matches the original. All the gaps around the walls and entryways are fixed as well as the gaps between the floorboards. It has completely changed the look of our house and we love it. Mayo was one of three estimates that we received and was the most competitive. I would definitely use Mayo Brothers again.

I would recommend this company and will definitely use them again when ours floors need to be refinished again. Caleb and his staff were very professional and full of great information for myself who has never been an owner of hardwood floors. They were very flexible when we had to reschedule due to a hold up from other contractors working in our home. Every day they worked at our house, they were prompt and did a great job sanding and staining. We had already seen the stain we picked in another house so we had already picked that one but they will put many colors down to let you pick what you like. None of the baseboards were chewed up from the sanding and the stain was spread evenly even in little corners nothing was missed. They were even able to fill some uneven areas so they looked smooth as well. Our floors look beautiful.

They did an excellent job. Showed up on time, worked very hard and were very professional. I liked them immensely and would definitely use them and recommend them to anyone.

Caleb Mayo was punctual every time he came to the house from the first meeting to the last visit. His expertise was obvious from the answers he gave to my questions. He explained every step, gave me options, and completed the job in the exact amount of time he promised. I also appreciated that he encouraged me to let the floors acclimate for a week even though I selfishly wanted to have them done in four days as was promised by two other bidders. He convinced me that waiting would allow the wood to equalize even though some wood storage is air-conditioned, the humidity varies in different places and can affect the condition of the wood. He brought in a subcontractor group to do the hand scraping, staining, and two poly coats, and then he came in to finish it. At first I was not expecting another crew to come work but Caleb wouldn't allow them to work without him starting them and making sure I was comfortable with them in my house. They did a fantastic job with that hard labor portion. When they finished in two days, Caleb returned in the next week after those two layers were cured, buffed the floors and then put on a harder top coat with a lambs wool brush. The result is honestly the most beautiful floor I have ever seen! I know they took a little longer to get done compared to the other professional wood flooring bidders, but I can't imagine that they could have done a better job. A week later, after my painter came and accidentally spilled lacquer thinner unknowingly on a small area in the center of my floor, I PANICKED!!! It had stripped the poly and the stain to the bare wood in about a 3 inch x 4 inch section. I called Caleb and he came over the very next day and fixed it with no visible signs of damage and didn't charge me. I offered to pay him but he refused. He was a delight to deal with!! I would HIGHLY recommend him to install wood floors anywhere.

Mayo Brothers Wood Floors were real personable. He had a decent price. His price wasn't the lowest and it wasn't the highest. I think he would do good work. He took measurements and we talked for awhile about stain color. I wanted a specific stain color but he told me that it is very hard to keep clean. He has it in his own house and he hates it. He recommended against having a dark floor, unless I wanted to sweep everyday. So, that was helpful.

Work product was superior. Caleb Mayo kept us informed the entire job. No significant overruns. He went above and beyond to complete within the timeframe allotted. Caleb did most of the work himself. I was very impressed.

They showed up on time. They had to do extra work on the subfloor and did not charge extra. They cleaned up after themselves. Very pleasant to work with.

Phenomenal! They were very resonably priced. They came on time, when they said they would, and did the work on our tight schedule. They cleaned up well and were really nice to work with. Caleb was the brother that we mainly worked with. They were just fantastic!

Prior to getting estimates, we (the homeowners) prepped the areas needing to be refinished by removing all of the furnishings, ripping up the carpet and padding and removing staples that had been used to hold the padding in place. With furniture removed from 75% of the house we needed someone that could start immediately and provide quality workmanship at a reasonable price. Mayo Brothers Wood Floors was one of three different companies that we asked to provide estimates. Caleb was very professional and answered all of our questions and concerns and gave us a time frame of 2-3 days from start to finish. His easy going manner and knowledge of wood floor refinishing and repair convinced us to award the job to the Mayo Brothers and we have not regretted our decision for one moment. On the determined day, we gave our house key to Caleb and left our home to stay in a nearby hotel for the duration of this project. The first day of work they repaired some splintered wood on two different thresholds and re-worked the bull-nose facing on a step down into the den. The replaced wood at the thresholds match the rest of room perfectly. They also completed the floor sanding, installed the base shoe, applied stain to the base shoe to match the trim, and the first coat of polyurethane all on "day 1". The second day was used to apply the second coat of polyurethane. We stayed out of the house the third night to let the polyurethane odor dissipate but returned on the fourth day and were very pleased at how beautiful the floors looked! We were absolutely thrilled with the beautiful honey color that was accomplished with only two coats of polyurethane and were excited about being able to start moving furniture back into place. We did call the Mayo Brothers back within a few days of the job being completed to do some touch up on an area that was marred when we moved furniture back in place and to tack down a couple of strips of base shoe. They took care of our request promptly and without any additional charge. Caleb assured us that if we found any additional problems with their work, they would work with us to resolve the issue as soon as possible. That one initial follow up call was all that we needed to get the short list of items taken care of and we have been quite satisfied with their work ever since. There was some extra clean up on our part as some of the wood fill that they used to fill all of the little staple holes and such got on some of the base shoe and a little on the carpet in the den in spite of the plastic that was put down to try and protect the den carpet. It was not a big problem to get the mess off the base shoe or carpet but clean up would be the reason for the "B" rating on work quality. I would recommend the Mayo Brothers Wood Floors to anyone wanting quality work done for a reasonable price.

The floor had to be pulled out and then we had to wait for insurance. They were very accommodating and very gracious. Plus we had some mold problems and that sort of thing. They are very nice, they have a good price, and do good work. Caleb and his brother are very professional, and do a wonderful job.
