We waited 6 months before they could get a crew to our house. They are one of the best in the business and had worked on this house before. The people in the office were very polite and responsive. Always in contact with the crew and with us. They appraised us of what to expect. They worked around our hours when dogs had to be kept indoors or in the fenced yard. It took them about 7-8 work days with crews of 2-4 men. They dug new piers on the outside and then dug new piers on the inside. the crew foreman was very knowledgable and the engineer also said the foreman was really good at what he did. We always felt they really knew what they were doing. On the foreman's recommendation they drilled 2 more piers inside. This was the proper thing to do. There was always the fear that when the slab lifting started the plumbing (in the slab) would leak. But a pressure test immediately showed there was no problem. The clean-up crew that returned to fill in the holes and point up the brick outside was very polite and through and said if I later found anything wrong to call him back to fix it.
Description of Work: Following engineer's recommendations they put in many new piers inside and out and re-pressured existing piers. They cleaned up really well, and always left the worksite clean after each day.

The foundation of my Home had settled so much that I knew I had some serious problems. I called Edens Structural Solutions and asked them if they would come look at it and give me an idea of what needed to be done and what it would cost to have it fixed. He sent a structural engineer out here to look at it, and when they told me that I needed 14 more piers installed, I didn't know what in the world I was going to do. I wasn't expecting to hear that I needed that much work done. My husband had suffered an aneurysm of the aorta in 2001 and almost all of our money had gone for his care. David Edens came here and told me that his Company, Edens Structural Solutions was going to take care of the foundation repair to my home, and they scheduled the work to be done. It was almost more than I could comprehend, that they were going to do the foundation work on my home at no cost to me. The most awesome work crew came here on the day they said they would begin. I have never seen a more professional, courteous and hard working, work crew, and there was so much hard work to be done. They were awesome. After they installed the piers, they even replaced the mortar and caulking where it was needed. Then they cleaned up everything and they even put the patio furniture back in place on my patio. Now my home is back like it is supposed to be, and I can take pride in it again. I'm still in awe that Eden's Structural Solutions would do this for me. I am so blessed. My husband passed away 6 weeks ago,on July 16, 2013. He lived exactly 12 years from the day he had the aneurysm of the aorta, in July of 2001.

I had no work done. I called to ask if they did the work that I was needing and they said they did. The work I need is to have my floor leveled in preparation for gluing down wood floors. My concrete slab is poorly poured and has lots of hills and dips which need to be leveled out before the flooring is installed. I plan to do that myself. I feel uncomfortable leveling the floor myself however. The person I spoke to told me they do this type of work for residential customers and when he showed up, a bit early, he just looked around and said he couldn't give me a quote because my furniture was in the way. No one ever told me the room had to be empty. I just thought I could show him the spots and he would meaure the room dimensions and give me a quote based square footage on a worst scenario quote. I was very clear about my project and the help I need with it from my initial call and he spent maybe 5 minutes in my home telling me he couldn't help me and I should call a concrete guy. I did also ask him about my back patio. We want it bigger and he again referred to "a concrete guy" but didn't offer any suggestions either. Because I was told they do the work I need when I called, my impression was that he got here and saw the job was on the small side (about 1000 square feet total) and just didn't want to do it for whatever reason.

I contacted Eden's with a request that they review the status of the structual repairs and determine whether "stitching" was needed. I had a very narrow time frame and they were able to schedule an appointment that worked even though it is a busy time for foundation repair. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. David came to review the foundation and recommended that I ask the original engineer to review the status as he did not believe additional work was needed. He arrived as scheduled and was very professional. He did not charge me a fee associated with the review. If the engineer who wrote the original assessment still requires the stitching I will definately call Eden's again.

I could not have been more pleased with the foundation repair that Edens Structural Solutions done on my home. The work was done very professionally. They were always on time & the job was completed in the time they estimated it would take. The job site was left very clean. I have recommended them to my neighbors. It was so good to find a Company that I could totally put my trust in and know that the work would be done right. They stand behind their work, and that means so much to me as a homeowner. I will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Edens Structural Solutions was highly recommended to me for structural damaged that needed to be done on my home. I called them and they come out and gave me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. I felt that the price was fair so I decided to have them do the work. They installed 17 exterior piers around the foundation of my home.

Due to the drought and lots of customers, the next available schedule date wasn't for 4 months. We had received 2 other estimates from other companies. The other companies had scheduling out around 4 months as well. Edens called 2 weeks before scheduled date. They were ahead of schedule and could get us started sooner. Thw workers were very professional. Had the work done in a very timely manner. They had to dig up 2 shrubs, but replanted them. Clean-up was exceptionally well. 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: Foundation dropped due to drought last year. Edens estimated 2 piers were needed by the garage and 3 piers needed at the opposite corner.

Their quote was okay, but their final bill was considerably higher than the quote. They don't include "filling in the cracks" in their quote (when we got THAT quote we decided to do it ourselves), and miscalculated how many pier they'd have to use. Furthermore, they pounded a pier right through the plumbing - a drainage pipe - then covered up the hole in the floor and said, "You may have a leak" when they left. They were aware of what they had done, and poured concrete over it, then drove away. After we moved into the house and found it did, indeed, have a leak, we called a plumber who jackhammered through the floor and showed us the pier Eden had pushed right through the pipe. We got an investigator there, who called Eden and their representative came by. In front of the investigator he told us they would cover the cost of the plumbing repair, then left. Afterward he called and asked how deep the pipe was, and when they learned it was more than 12 inches, he said that their contract permitted them to damage anything deeper than 12 inches without any recourse. And yes, their contract states that. So we had to pay another $5,000 to a plumber to repair their mess.
Description of Work: We needed foundation work on a house we had just purchased. They were to install piers and fill in the cracks afterward.

Response from EDENS STRUCTURAL SOLUTIONS
Edens Structural Solutions was sold in 2005 and reacquired in 2011 by David Edens, the current owner. We are saddened to hear about this member's experience, especially so long after the fact (the work was performed in 2008, during the period of the other owner). Owner David Edens is committed to providing excellence service, which is reflected in the many other positive reviews listed here on Angie's List. There are details about this particular situation that wouldn't be appropriate to mention here, but you may call us to learn more about how Edens Structural Solutions operates in the best interest of our customers. Sincerely, Edens Structural Solutions

The services performed were exactly has described in the estimate. The price they quoted was exactly the price they charged. Absolutely no complaints there. My only concerns are that we did get a new small crack in a bedroom wall that wasn't there before the foam injection. The good news is our north wall is now closer to where it should be elevation wise, than I have ever seen it. Also the dirt mounds over the piers on the back side of the house are a little higher than I care for, but I have some low places I need to fill in the yard anyway. They had to make an extra cut in the carpet in one room that isn't nice, but it's a room trashed by our cats anyway and we really need to remove the carpet and replace it with tile or linoleum anyway. More good news is in our master bedroom we saw the wall was actually pulling away from the window, due to settling that had been enhanced by the drought. They absolutely fixed that problem. It looks like there had been no foundation problems at all now. While we probably should have hired a structural engineer to help us plan the repairs, that is what Eden't recommends. You hire your own engineer to plan the repair, and they will do exactly what the engineer recommends. Then they will rebate you up to $300 of the cost of the engineer. What I did was get an estimate from about five different structural repair firms. Eden's was not the cheapest or the most expensive. Estimates ran from about $2500 to $20,000. Mostly based on the amount of work performed. Also concrete piers vs. steel piers. Three companies including Eden's were in this middle range $7000-$9000. Three of the companies described a similar amount of work. One company wanted to put piers all around our house, while technically that might be right. The problems on the east side and southeast side are not very significant and not very severe. Where the problems were the most severe is where Eden's did the work. I liked the crew, I talked to one of the lead men, even though he was Latino, he spoke English very well, he said he had worked for Eden's for 12 years, he was very polite, and very professional. I could tell the crew took care not to damage trees, shrubs, or leave too many ruts in you yard. I also liked the fact they repaired some of the cracks in the mortar, and re-caulked windows as needed. There was even a downed storm gutter in their way at one spot, and they fixed it. Even though it was not part of the deal. This was not cheap work, but I felt they were the most reasonable of the companies I talked too. I felt if I went with the low bid, I would just be hiring someone else in the near future to do more work. Also they did not require an advance deposit. Their office kept us advised of schedule changes due to weather. Another reason I selected them, is one of the Eden's lives in our neighborhood, and I know where to go if I have a complaint. That was another thing. One of the Eden's family did the estimate, and it was one of the Eden's family that did the final inspection. You get the impression that the family stakes their personal reputation on their work. Finally some companies subcontract the foam injection to another firm. That's probably OK, and three our five firms said that foam injection beats interior piers on price, performance, speed, and interior collateral damage to your home Two pieces of advice: 1. Due to the drought and Oklahoma Clay, all foundation repair companies are really backed up. So if you think you need foundation work done, act NOW! 2. If you are buying a house. Hire your own inspectors. Do not let the Realtor or seller pick them. I let the Realtor pick them, and now I am out about $8000, and have some ugly cracks. My general inspectors were honest. They found things wrong, that I would never have caught. They found things wrong that I really didn't care about. However, they said get a structural guy. He said it was just a bad tape job. He said well you might need 1 pier (covered his backside). True that drought made things much worse, but still. Nine piers versus one?
Description of Work: Repaired damage to our slab foundation using steel piers and for interior leveling polyurethane foam injection. They installed nine steel piers around the outside of our house, and injected the foam under the slab in three areas of the inside. I would give a higher quality rating, but I want to wait a few months and see if my problems are solved, or If I am going need more work done.

I was referred to Eden's Structural by Atkinson Engineering. I priced Eden's against 3 other foundation repair companies. They all came in about the same price. After making an initial walk through of my home. The tech (also the owner) was very nice and suggested that I actually pay to have a third party structural engineer to do his own report and then base foundation repair bids on that. He said that will give me my most unbiased and fair approach to completing the job. I agreed. I appreciated Eden being upfront and not trying to sell me. I have and am following his recommendation..

read above - it went very well. They even had a crew that was working in our area work overtime to get it done.
Description of Work: We had a very narrow window to get work done before we had new carpet and floors laid. Eden bent over backwards to meet our needs, came did the work and cleaned up. they did what they said they would do, when they said they'd do it and at the cost we agreed to. I couldn't ask for more. We had recently experienced some wall cracks due to our foundation sagging. Our structural engineer recommended Edens to lift the section that had dropped by putting some magic compound it that expanded and hardened in minutes. They lifted the whole North end of our foundation 3/4 inch in about 1 hour. To do so required drilling multiple holes in the concrete floor, which would have been really messy if they couldn't have done it while our flooring was out due to a bad water leak. We are so thankful to be able to coordinate this work. Thank you Eden Structural.

We got several estimates back in November, 2011. All the bids were about the same amount, and all had a backlog of 3 months. We chose Edens because they were the only company that followed up with us. They got started a couple days later than planned, but they called well in advance to advise of the delay. The work crew showed up promptly each day. They were friendly, respectful, and hard-working. The last day was stressful; when the foreman began the actual lifting, large cracks opened up on an interior wall, so he stopped and called their engineer in to help. I wish he had been present before the lifting began to possibly avoid the interior damage, but having an engineer on site is not their normal procedure. Still, I would ask for it if I did this again. Anyway, after the lifting was done, the crew started filling cracks in the brick. They had to work past quitting time and clearly didn't like it. Their patches were sloppy, several cracks were overlooked, and they didn't bother to clean up around our patio. We asked that this be rectified and it was. The crew that came back did a great job, and we're happy with the results.

Mike first looked at the minor sheetrock cracks and inspected the exterior, and quickly told us they were nothing to worry about. He said "Your house is old enough it is just getting a few wrinkles!" That kind of honesty always earns great credibility with me. As for the drainage, we had them do about $3,000 worth of work and all of it was done on time and very professionally. One part included some new concrete which developed a few small cracks a few months later. We called them and they came right back out and re-did that work. More than 3 years later, it still looks great. Without doubt I would call Edens again any time we had something they could do for us.
Description of Work: We had Edens come out for two reasons - to inspect some sheetrock cracks in our home, and to recommend drainage solutions in several areas. Ultimately we had Edens do about $3,000 worth of drainage projects for us.

The crew was curious and professional, I like to stay involved and watch the work and they (the crew) didn't mind and offered as much info as they could to me about what they were doing. I asked about replacing Clay soil with loamy sand and they were helpful, but the foreman wanted an extra $200 per hole to do so, which I felt was unreasonable, and that was with me making arrangements for and paying for the soil to be delivered on top of that extra $1400 he wanted to charge me. The foreman who only showed up to watch the jacking up of the house and to argue with me, was in my opinion rude and boisterous. During the jacking phase, he was ready to stop and seal up everything and I had to point out to him cracks which where still present. Also the clay soil they replaced into the holes has since expanded and raised the house off the piers to form more cracks. I'm not sure I would have used them in the first place had I known what I was getting into. Definetly won't call them again.
Description of Work: They came in gave me an estimate, then started work. Then started work, digging holes for piers. Then they pounded steel piers into the ground to raise the foundation to level in order to fix cracks in the foundation and walls of the house. Afterwords the sealed the piers in place and reburied the holes and poured concrete where there was concrete before, then they repaired the mortar in the brick work, cleaned up and left.
