Universal Painting and Window Cleaning

Wes, was the salesman, It went really well, i had two other estimates, but i didn't even bother with those after his sales pitch. Very decently priced, personable, worked to get the price down for me. Made me feel very comfortable, and was very trustworthy. Very knowledgable about his products.

Let me start off from my first request for an estimate. Jay was very prompt in getting back in touch with us to schedule a time to come out and give us a quote . The estimate was very fair. The crew showed up every day on time and fully prepared. Universal Painting and Window Cleaning were accommodating and flexible to our work schedule and our modifications to the job. Jay, Don and Danny were all professional while extremely pleasant and personable. It was like having old friends working on your house. We will be hiring them again to complete another job in the very near future. If you decide to hire them, take comfort in knowing, you could not have contracted any one better. No worries, no problems, no issues.

Excellent. Drywall was in bad shape after wallpaper was removed, and it now looks completely smooth. Paint looks great, excellent cleanup. Jay is very flexible and communicates the whole time. Even came back for a touch up that took 5 minutes. Highly recommend!

They were very helpful to keep our pets in and safe. Had to wait on the weather for the deck, but they were helpful working us back in there busy schedule.

Jay and his crew have completed two separate multi-room painting projects in our home. They have painted our entry-way, upstairs and downstairs hallways, three bathrooms, a dining room, kitchen and a master bedroom. They also did a texture match on a bathroom ceiling, painted a bay window with seat, and a kitchen peninsula. Jay is very knowledgeable, and Jay and his entire crew are professional. The pricing was was great and we were very satisfied with the quality of work. They are punctual, they were there when they said they would be and finished in the estimated time. They do a good job of keeping the work area clean during and after completion. Our impression of the crew is that they are very customer service oriented. They went above and beyond more than once. We will continue to use Universal for our painting projects in the future. We're so happy to find a quality contractor.

Painting a ceiling AFTER the walls have been done is one of the hardest jobs for any painter. We had done a great job painting the walls and remodeling 3 rooms over the last 5 months, but for some reason we failed to paint 2 ceilings. They needed paint, bad. We got a few estimates and even though Universal wasn't the lowest, we had a good feeling about Jay when he stopped to look at the job. We were right. They did an OUTSTANDING job. They free-handed the edges and didn't leave one mark on the walls. They were very conscious of protecting everything left in the rooms from speckles or splatter. Best of all, they were really good guys and a pleasure to have in our home. In the future I won't bother to get other estimates from others. I'll just call Jay. The job took about three days, everyone was very professional and did an excellent job. They paid attention to detail and spent a great amount of time making my imperfect walls look near perfect. I would definitely hire them again, in fact I am waiting for a quote on the exterior of my house and hope to have that painted by them as well.

Universal Painting was excellent. They were very professional. Did a very thorough job and their care for our home was excellent. They were very good at cleaning up at the end of the day and when they were done. I highly recommend Jay and his men for excellent work at a reasonable price.

My husband and I recently moved our family to Concord Township from the west side. We love our new house but hated the color and condition of our master bedroom. We had several painting companies give us estimates on the painting and repair work to be done. The previous owners had very elaborate custom window treatments in the room which we hated and took down, leaving behind all the anchors and wall hooks. Jay and his team at Universal removed the curtain system and patched all the holes and cracks in the walls, painted the ceiling and all the trim in the room and even recommended the color for the room - which we love. Our master has a double trey ceiling and a chandelier so it is not easy to paint but Jay and his team did a fabulous job. The color they recommended is exactly what we envisioned and the entire process was fast, professional and enjoyable. Over the course of the next few years we will be painting most of the interior of our house and they will be our first and only call. I cannot recommend them highly enough and we are already giving their number to family and friends.

He kept in touch about the date, the time, and showed up promptly. He just wasn't satisfied until he felt all was done completely. He spent time looking everything over, and made sure I was satisfied. There wasn't a drip, missed spot, or streak.

Quality of work was exceptional - filled holes, dents, cracks - not a trace of them now. Did minor wall repairs, especially where bathroom tiles met wall and paint had curled and buckled and where piece of wooden trim had rotted away. All smooth now. Professional interaction, knowledgeable. Found owner, Jay, honest, no hype, straightforward. Cares about doing a good job and delivered on that. On-time for quote visit and subsequent work visits. Stayed in touch by texts and phone throughout project. Jay was able to schedule this small interior job between a large exterior job on the rainy days, and my job was done within a week. This worked out for me because that was still 4 to 6 weeks sooner than others had quoted me to even get started. Extremely fair pricing and value for high quality of work. Will definitely use again; recommending to friends and family.

It took a while to actually schedule the provider to do the work since it's their outside painting season. They had a lot of big jobs. But once I did finally get the job scheduled, they showed up promptly, worked quickly and did a darn good job! The owner showed up first and had me explain the project. Then he brought in his vacuum and cleaned the air vents because I told him he could paint them. He helped remove switch plates, etc. (I had already washed the walls.) Then the painter showed up and got right to work. He plugged holes with putty and sanded them down, then he started painting. He did a great job on the cut-ins and the baseboards. He applied two coats on 4 walls in about 3 hours and he was very clean, no splatters, etc. Granted, the room was fairly void of furniture because I had gotten rid of what was in there because I ordered new. Definitely I would recommend them!

This is the second time I used this provider and for good reason. Jay (the owner) and his crew are always professional and meticulous. Their work is impeccable, really upper echelon caliber. I really cannot be more highly of this company. If someone were to ask me if I knew a good painter, I would tell 'em "you're crazy" if you don't use Universal. If you're in the market for premier quality work that is well-priced, and delivered by a trustworthy company, you needn't look any further. Also, I fully intend on having Universal come back for some exterior work. I wouldn't use anyone else.

He did an excellent job! I had been waiting since April for the guy that cleaned the windows last year and finally got tired of waiting and called Jay. He did a much better job than the other guy and did more...he even washed the exterior of the basement glass block windows! Jay is also quoting an exterior painting job and to caulk the windows, which will sure help in the winter. I really can't recommend him enough!!

After getting the scheduling down, which was only a minor hiccup. Jay and his crew arrived on time and as scheduled. I needed the stairway and hall to my upstairs painted. It was not until I moved a bookcase and draperies the night before that I saw there was some plaster work that needed attending...more than I thought. Jay didn't flinch. It was all part of the work he and his crew perform. The job was done neatly and as requested. And there is a 100% improvement in that part of the house!! Jay and his crew were professional and did a great job! Universal Painting will definitely be getting a call back for the next paint project that comes up. Thank you, Jay!
