Mike's Home Improvement

Mike came out to give me an estimate. After I signed it and returned it, they started the work pretty quickly. The first thing they did was to fix the wind damage. Next, they fixed our bay window. Our house is fourteen years old. The paint on the bottom always bubbled up. No matter how much we repainted or tried to repair, it always came back. I probably should have gone back to the builder but I didn't so I had Mike's repair it. They completely removed all of the wood and applied housewrap and window tape. The replaced the wood with Azek. It turned out great. Not only is the bubbling gone, it is now maintenance free. The last thing completed were the shutters. They were a nice improvement. The sun had faded the old ones. I am planning on having them back next spring to replace the wood trim on the door on the back of garage and put some screen doors on the front door and the door from the house to the garage.

Came home early to meet the estimator only to find out their roofing company (outsourced) did not do work in my area. A big waste of time. He also didn't seem very knowledgeable.

As of September 26 2017. the contract had ran out to the point became out of the statue of limitation. Work was never finished.

From the start, Mike, the owner was very responsive. He handled all the details with the insurance company and confirmed that matching aluminum siding was no longer available anywhere. The job took about a week. His workers were great!!! They were punctual, proficient and efficient. Cleaned and tidied up each day before they left. And they are really nice guys - Kenny, Davey and Jeremy. Because I changed my choice of shutters they needed to be installed a week later and Jim completed that part of the work in a very timely fashion. i would definitely use this company again.

Mike has done many jobs for me over the years, just recently he put gutters on my house and as usual did a great job. he is a man of his word, and always takes care of his customers.

I contacted Mike's Home Improvement for an estimate. Mike Bando, the owner came out and gave me a written estimate on the spot after measuring. He gave many options on the materials available and what each option would cost. He showed samples for the different styles of siding. Since it was wintertime the workers had to wait until the weather cooperated. On days without rain or snow the workers were there first thing in the morning until early evening. They were careful not to leave any of the house exposed during the process. The area was kept clean while the work was being completed. During the installation of the soffits, 2 areas were pointed out that showed roof damage due to a water getting under the shingles. Mike called and quoted how much it would be to repair the roof. I then asked him to give me a quote on replacing all the shingles on the roof. Mike came out the next day and gave me a decent price on the entire roof. A few days later the roofers came out and were able to complete the roof in one day. All work was completed and area was cleaned. The house turned out great and we could not be happier with our "new" house. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike's Home Improvement to anyone looking for exterior work on their house.

The garage looks great and the price was very reasonable. My only (small) gripe was that they did not show on the day they originally said they would start and instead came a couple days later without any notice. Could have been a weather issue—I never asked. It was no big deal, as we did not need someone home, but a phone call would have been nice. Either way, I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend to others.

Their crew did a great job. It took several weeks for their supplier to provide replacement windows. I'm guessing that had to do with the number of homes that had similar damage from the recent severe thunderstorms that hit Cleveland Heights. Once those were received, they were installed very professionally, as was the leaf gutter. I would definitely use them again.

I contacted Mike a few months in advance to plan accordingly for some siding repairs that were going to be needed the day after our new exterior lights were installed and got on his calendar. They showed up as planned and completed the siding repairs on the front/side/back of our home within about 3 hours. All looks great and we are happy with the results. We appreciate it very much and will contact Mike's Home Improvement for potential other jobs in the near future.

I was having a hard time getting anyone to contact me back because this was considered a small job. I was so appreciative that Mike's took the time to actually come out and quote it, in addition to providing excellent service. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly, professional and willing to help. We had a tight time frame that the project needed completed by and Mike's was able to accommodate us. The entire process was smooth and went perfectly.

Showed up over an hour late from our appointment time, which was frustrating because we work full time and didn't want someone coming over at 7:15 PM. We walked through everything we needed - railing, awning, etc. - and even talked through specific details of ideas. He had a book of photos but none of it was "his work" so he wasn't very prepared. He took some measurements, wrote down some information, and said he'd get me the quote the following week. I haven't heard from him since. And I didn't call them back - this isn't my job as the customer. As a business, your customers should be your top priority. We'll be going with another company and I don't recommend Mike's Home Improvement.

They never even started the work! I got nothing but lip service that dragged on for over a year. Even after I spoke to the owner, he did not follow through on saying he would make it right. The employee that I was dealing with didn't like paperwork and kept going back and forth with my insurance and asked for an extension, which to me says they were going to do the work. The walls hadn't been repaired, so when the windows arrived, they couldn't be installed! Caution, warning, and beware!

The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and scheduled the appointment for the estimate. Mike arrived on time. He brought examples of the windows and took detailed measurements. Because of the size of the job, he was offering a 5% discount. Our next door neighbor used Mike for his windows and was satisfied. We did not utilize this provider because we preferred a different window manufacturer. It had nothing to do with Mike.

The installers were very professional. They were complete and didn't take short cuts. They cleaned up and went beyond by moving furniture and replacing deck furniture for 4th of July company!
