Mike's Home Improvement

The work was completed on schedule and was very professional. The water damage was greater than expected (this wasn't clear until the siding was removed), requiring a modification of the original estimate. The increased cost was fair and reasonable. I chose this firm primarily because they were the only firm that gave me a reasonable explanation (requiring a slight modification of a gutter on a flat roof) for why the damage occurred in the first place. I have no reservation in recommending them for handyman type work.

Came in less than one week after I okay-ed it. Did a great job. Reasonably priced. Very pleased with job they did.

Starting with the salesman, it was a very positive experience. The salesman sat down with us to understand what we wanted and quoted appropriately. The installers were on time, they respected our property and did a very good job. We will definately use this company again.

We contacted this company when we returned home from a vacation to discover the missing window. Bob came out, took measurements, asked if we wanted the companion window also replaced. We said that it depended on cost. He said he would provide estimates for the one and for both. A week later, he called and said that his supplier had provided a mistaken estimate and would have to correct this so that he could give us a good price. When my wife asked how long that would take, he said he would have it that day or the next. Another week passed and I called him. He seemed utterly confused and said that he thought the job had been completed. When reminded of past conversations, he said that he was still waiting for his supplier. When I suggested that he should have called to update us on this, he had no response. We then went to the local lumberyard and ordered the window ourselves. We had it within a week. I would never recommend Mike's Home Improvement to anyone.

I contracted with them in May but I wanted the work done in October. In the contract it was laid out that they were to put boards over my plants. When they started to work they did not lay down any boards. They were stepping all over my plants. That crew had left, I received a call from Mike. The boss did not notify the crew of the boards. He apologized and said it was his fault for not notifying the crew. They came out with a new crew. They were very good about putting boards over my plants. They did need up doing a wonderful job. They were very neat and cleaned up after they left. Mike came back later and gave me extra pieces of siding. When he came out he checked the job that the crew had done. He had them come out again and recaulk some areas.

They were professional. There was one guy here who worked for two days, and he did a good job. I would use this provider again.

The completed project looked good. They were reasonably priced and fixed any issues that occurred. They also maintained a clean worksite.

We would probably use them however we did not have the money at the time to do the project.

, My mother broke her hip on Christmas Day and was recovering nicely in rehab. I was worried when she returned home that she would have trouble going down a step into the garage to get to her car. Mike's Home Improvement built a sturdy, gorgeous bannister in the garage for her to hold onto walking down the step. they fit me in before my mother came home for rehab and did a wonderful job. Thank you Mike! Last year Mile's team rehabbed an outdoor shed which we use for storage. They fixed the door, lock, put on a new roof, and replaced the gutters. It's looks brand new. Great work.

The project was simply dropped, apparently, because it has been a month since that visit.

From start to finish everyone was very polite, timely, honest, and professional. Tina, the office manager, was especially helpful with scheduling the job. We receive compliments on our house all of the time. The estimate was fair and correct for the job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

All communications with Mike's Home Improvement were excellent. We received a bid a little lower which is the only reason why we did not select Mike's Home Improvement to do the work.

I was very satisfied with Mike's. They were prompt, courteous and did a great job. They worked well together and cleaned up well.

Had the estimate done the second week in July and ordered the same day. After about 3 weeks, I got a call that my choice on color for the front entry door was no longer available. Made my choice on color within a week. Received a call that the windows had arrived and set up the installtion day. Delays due to weather, however, they were able to come that same week. Two windows were the wrong size and had to be reorderd, manufacturing error. The guys did a great job including clean up. The doors came in the next week and they were insalled in a timely matter. I'm still waiting for the two windows that came in the wrong size to be installed..however, received a call that they were in. Weather permitting, the last two windows should be completed by next week, as well as the shutters. Overall, although it has taken longer than expected, I am pleased with the job so far, the guys who installed the windows and doors did an excellent job so the wait has been worth it. I would use Mike's Home Improvement again and plan on doing just that in the Spring.

They have also done a bid on a roof for me, but they were higher than other companies. They were excellent. I thought they were professional. They were on time, and that was the key thing.

They were very professional and I would recommend them to other members. They were very prompt and their price was good compared to the other estimates I had from other companies.

The phone receptionist at the company was very polite and phoned at appropriate times to let me know when the installer was scheduled to come. Mark did a great job in a short amount of time and was very professional. I definitely would use them again.

Mike came out to the house to quote a price. He was very professional and was understanding of our wants and needs. We had a number of people quote the job. Mike's price was the best. More important than the price was that both my wife and I felt very comfortable with Mike. We chose Mike, not because his price was the best, but because of the value that we believed his company offered. They were suppose to start in mid-November, but due to the lousy weather we had, the did not start the job until late February. Mike stayed in contact with us. When they started the they job, they were very professional. It was obvious from the start that the crew was very knowledgeable. They were very considerate.At the end of each day, they would clean up. We also had Mike's Home Improvement fix our roof. The company that put the oriental roof in, total screwed it up. Mike's crew came in and fixed it. When everything was done, Mike came by and inspected it. There were several things he didn't like, so he brought to crew back to fix them. I would have never noticed it, but he did. I thought that was very professional. After that, he called me to make sure I was satisfied with the job. I would highly recommend him and would definitely use him again!

I moved into my house 3 years ago. I went as long as I could with the original doors for my front entry way and side entry way into the house but once the door knobs were ready to fall off I knew I had no choice but to finally replace them. I had a couple of companies come out to give me estimates and I couldn't believe how much they were going to charge. That is when I looked on Angie's List and saw some very nice comments for Mike's Home Improvement. I called and was able to get Mike to come out with in a week to give me am estimate. As this is my first time owning a house, I was pretty clueless on the process of replacing doors. Mike seemed very knowledgable and was very patient making sure I understood the process and the best kind of doors to get for my house. The price I was quoted was incredibly lower than quotes from other companies. I was initially going to get estimates from a couple of other places but decided based on the other companies I talked to previously, this was the way to go. I was planning on only purchasing entry and storm doors but since Mike was giving me an estimate on that, I had him also give me estimates on all of the windows in my house. Since I live in a colonial there are a lot of windows that need to be replaced. Unlike other companies, Mike will not push you to spend more than you can afford. He said I could do window at a time if that's what works best within my budget. I decided to replace my front picture window along with the entry and storm doors for both the front and side of my house. As soon as the doors and windows came in (which took about a month for them to get in which is pretty much the norm) I was able to get them to come out to install right away. The guys that came to install were very professional. They stick to the job at hand and don't waste a lot of time. The only thing that I didn't realize was what a mess it would be to take out my original wood doors. If I were you I would make sure anything you can is moved out of the room you are getting doors replaced in or just make sure they cover everything. Overall excellent process, quality and price...I believe it cost me around $5500 for the 2 entry doors/2 side doors/front picture window...don't quote me exactly but I believe it was around that amount. Since I've now replaced 3 more windows at $350 a piece from Mike and just ordered 2 more. I also just found out that Mike does other work. I need wallpaper removed, painting and some minor remodeling on the inside of my house. He has a guy named Walter does that type of work. Walter came out to my house just yesterday and said he would have a quote ready for me in just a few days. He was a very nice guy that knows what he's doing. Like Mike he was very patient with me with giving ideas and helping with color schemes. He seemed very knowledgable. I'll keep you posted on what comes from that in another review.

We actually didn't use them. We decided not to side the house; we're having it painted. Mike was very straightforward. He gave a good price, beating another quote by almost $1,000. He came right when he said he was going to come.

We are very pleased with the work Mike and his guys did on our condo. Mike came out and did all the measurements the same day he gave us the quote, which sped up the process. He is very friendly and personable. The windows were ordered and installed promptly, the workers cleaned up thoroughly, and they called the next day to make sure we were happy with the results. The siding looks great! I would definitely call Mike again and have already given his cards to my friends and neighbors!

We were given an estimate for these items plus an estimate to remove and reinstall a staricase that blocked the area for repair. We deiced to remove the staircase our selves so this delayed project, but meanwhile we ordered the door. Once we got the stircase off it went smoohtoley in removing and repair the siding. We were told it would go over the estimate due to more wood was rotten that was not apparent with the staircase in place. We agreed to the overcost and the work was completed. We had a delay with the door as what was ordered would not work. There was some confusion about communiction about the door but finally it was woekred out and the new door ordered but it was awhile before it was installed. Once it was installed we were told the weatherstripping was not installed right and they would come back and re-do it. It was redone with some delay trying to match schedules. Everyone was nice, polite , unobtrusive, clenaed up as they worked.

They were professional and courteous. They misquoted the first time around. They were very very high. He called me back and said there wasn't something right about the proposal and he readjusted it. It saved me about $10,000.
