It was great from finish to end. David had come to the house to see the trees we wanted removed and looked at our other trees. He gave suggestions in terms of pruning some of the trees. David came out one day to cut and remove the trees. Since he did not have access to the stump grinder he had to return a few days later. We were very happy with David and the work completed. I have recommended him to neighbors and friends who have also been happy with his service.

The service was good. They are just really knowledgeable. They may not be the cheapest but they give good value for their price. The quality is good and we have been very pleased. We use them all the time.

I was not at home when the service was performed, but my neighbor watched them and said that they were very careful with the landscaping around the areas where they were working. I wasn't given an actual date of when the work would be performed so after a couple of days, I called David and explained that I really needed the work done that day (Friday) because we had a truck load of mulch in our driveway that needed to be put in our beds that weekend. He immediately sent over a crew and the work was done in a hour. They cleaned up nicely and even removed the stump of the crab apple.

My husband and I were searching for a certified arborist for weeks. We had a large pear tree in our backyard that desperately needed to be pruned. I checked on Angie's List and emailed a few companies. Some companies never contacted us or didn't service our area. Finally my husband looked in our local paper and found the Westerville Tree Service. Turns out he's on Angie's list, with wonderful reviews and rightfully so! He came over within 24 hours and the work was done 2 days later. In addition we had him prune two other trees in the front yard. Wonderful job, impressive clean up, and very affordable!

Some of trees were really close to other trees and they did a good job of not messing up the other trees. They couldn’t come out for awhile because of the rain, because there equipment would ruin our yard. They were very considerate and careful when thinking about the right time to come so there was no damage to the yard. They did a really good job. I have no complaints.

He was very nice. I was happy. He came while I was away, cleaned up well, and left a bill which I later sent in. It was nice that he didn't ask for the money up front. Also, he came and looked at the tree beforehand.

I called the Westerville Tree Service and spoke with the owner David, who I had dealt with in the past, and explained that I had several broken branches on a tree in my backyard. When I had contacted David, he was out of town, and since there was no danger of the branches doing any further damage I waited until he was available to do the work. Within a week the work was completed. I am satisfied with the job he did.

They came when they said they would come. They made a hole in the tree and put the screw in. I had no complaints about it at all. However, they did not have all the tools they required, so they borrowed some of my tools. They did not speak really good English. I would recommend them to others and would use them again in the future if necessary.

They were very mindful and respectful of our property and our neighbors. They made sure they didnt leave any debris behind or damage any property while they were working. We plan to have them back in the future.

I have used this service before with good results for tree service and firewood. I asked for wood stacking as I have back problems. The stacking charge was modest and the wood was delivered and stacked within 2 days of my order

Excellent, did a great job and even better job cleaning after removal of limbs.

Did a good job at a very reasonable price (substantially less than an estimate provided by another company). Performed extra touch-up of the remaining tree and cleaned up the yard thoroughly.

I want to share a recent experience we had with a local company, Westerville Area Tree Service, David Martin (owner). Everyone should be aware of the nature of the owner and his crew if you ever consider using them. Our experience with this company was absolutely terrible. We lost half of a large tree shading our back patio during the storm on Wednesday, 08/04 and hired Westerville Area Tree Service to remove the fallen part of the tree and take down the rest of it. In a nutshell, here’s what the crew did during their short time on the job: . dropped the large top part of the tree on a stone column breaking off 3 stones · dropped a large branch along a new patio umbrella which is no longer anchored perpendicular to the ground · forced large branches through the fence gate loosening a post which is no longer anchored solidly in the ground My wife also asked the crew to keep the branches away from the pool when removing them. Yet, they dragged huge branches across the edge of the pool, leaving sap and scratches on the pool coping and another umbrella stand. After observing the crew’s carelessness my wife asked them to stop and called the owner, David Martin. It was the reaction of David Martin and his crew that was even more incredible than the damage itself. Together, they told my wife in regards to the following: THE DAMAGED STONE COLUMN: David Martin looked at it and said it was ‘not a big deal’. And a member of the crew said if it had been put together better it wouldn’t have fallen apart. Fact: we would not have known about this damage if my wife hadn’t seen it happen. The crew slyly put the stones back in place rather than inform her about it. THE PATIO UMBRELLA: David Martin asked if there was any damage and my wife replied she didn’t know. While pulling twigs and leaves out from it, David Martin stated that there’s no damage to this umbrella. Fact: the umbrella is anchored into the ground and upon inspection no longer stands perpendicular to the ground. THE LOOSE FENCE POST: David Martin said the post was already like that, and his crew did not cause the damage. Fact: these gate fence posts were reset in concrete only a year ago and were just fine prior to this job. Photo and video documentation was taken of all the damage as evidence of the carelessness of this company and crew. It’s also worth noting something about David Martin himself. He told my wife that when she saw the large branches being dragged over the pool edge and through the gate, that ‘she’ should have come out and told his crew to cut them smaller and ‘none of this would have happened’. How’s that for deflecting responsibility? When David Martin asked if my wife wanted them to finish the job, she asked for another crew and in response was told, ‘No I won’t do that’. He did agree that there should have been more crew members on the job, and only apologized as he was leaving our property. What baffles me is why David Martin, the owner of Westerville Area Tree Service simply didn’t accept responsibility for his crew’s carelessness, apologize, and state he would make things right. Instead, he chose to make excuses, deny that any of the damage was their responsibility, and actually became annoyed at my wife for raising her concerns. I suspect because my wife was there alone that Mr. Martin felt he could intimidate and convince her that she was making a ‘big deal over nothing’, even attempting to convince her that some of the damage was her responsibility. This is something husbands in particular should really think about before considering hiring this company. Westerville Area Tree Service may be able to do adequate work if the job is simple, if there are no obstructions, gates, columns, walls, umbrellas, furniture, etc to deal with or maneuver around. Otherwise, expect carelessness, no regard for your property, and no acceptance of responsibility from this company and owner David Martin.

It was tricky, hinged and on the roof and was a fairly difficult operation. We used him a long time ago and he is somebody that rather saves the tree than cut it down. I prefer that and he also seems to be knowledgeable about trees and cares about them. I feel confident and will go along with what he says. I will agree if he tells me that a branch of a particular tree needs to be removed or a tree needs to come down.

Work was done in a very satisfactory manner. Dave trimmed the trees right before the big 2008 wind storm and probably saved damage to my house.

They were very good. However they were not responsive after hurricane Ike went through & I was a little bit upset with them but understand that they had a lot of work to do after that. I called them the day after the storm & since I was a previous customer I thought that they would come but it was over a month that they hadn't come so I found someone else to do that job. Overall for the time they came I would give them an A grade & I would probably use them again in the future.

I had gotten an estimate several months earlier from David Martin regarding removing some bushes from the front of my home. When I called him to do the work the price remained the same. I mentioned that I had already ordered some replacement plants that would be put in as soon as he could complete his work. He was in the area and came out with his crew and finished the job, including clean up in approximately 15 minutes. I have used his services in the past and I am very satisfied with his work.

The two 30' white pines were removed without any remains left in the yard. A few days later the two stumps were removed, leaving the space ready and prepared for replacement trees to be planted. Great job!

Dave Martin came out to see the situation, and put us on a priority list since the tree was hanging precariously over the main phone lines for our neighborhood. Within two days, his crew was here at precisely the time they said they'd be here and they worked like beavers for over 2 hours. They were courteous and professional, and they were obviously very expert in what they did, this was not an easy operation. Given the way it was hanging, just cutting the tree up would have brought it crashing down on the phone lines.

They really do come to the Westerville area. The quote was good, they were polite and responsive.

David came out the same day that we called and gave a reasonable estimate. We requested that he do the work while we were home. There was no rush for the job to be completed and with the weather conditions, it rained on two days we had scheduled the job, it took several weeks to get the job completed. David and another person came to do the work. They were on time, were professional, did a good job including clean up. I was very satisfied with their work and will us them in the future.

The experience was very good. They were very knowledgeable and took time to speak with us during the whole process. They were able to actually do everything we asked them to do the day they came to give the estimate.
