The Electric Connection

They answered the phone when called and were prompt in sending out an estimator. The estimator was easy to work with, and had very good suggestions and advice. The workmen came when scheduled and did everything I requested with no problems. I was satisfied from start to finish.

The gentleman that showed up to give us the estimate was very knowledgeable and offered a lot of different options for what we were looking for along with their price points. He got us the estimate in a timely manner, and we were able to get the work scheduled quickly as well. The installer showed up and actually ran into a problem where he could not run the light off of at particular outlet we had preferred, but offered several options that were acceptable and finished the job without further issues. The installer was very neat and left no trace upon his departure. We were very pleased with our overall experience and will use The Electric Connection again!

It went well. The appointment scheduling went smoothly. One mix up: I originally had called them to look at a circuit that would not work (GFI would not trip back on). I called them before the appointment date and ADDED the oven plug replacement. When the serviceman arrived, he did not have the first item on the work order. It ended up not being an issue as the GFI tripped back on without incident. He (I wish I could remember his name because is was extremely nice) did a great job of explaining what was needed (replacing out of code wiring from box to stove outlet) and replacing the outlet itself. He was extremely neat. He set the plug on the floor, as he thought most stoves had an alcove in the rear where the plug fitted. Well, not mine! I have a new maytag stove and there is not an alcove for it. So the stove is not sitting against the wall currently. I really wouldn't fault him for not knowing this. Overall, I think he did a great job.

He was very thorough in sorting out the correct defect in our system, and fixing it.

. They are good and I am very happy with them. Generally they make every effort to send me the same technician because they know what they did last time. I think that saves time as well. It is one of those companies that is very willing to do that if I ask. I will continue to use them in the future.

After recommendations from a couple of friends and their Angie's List grade and comments I chose Electric Connections. Randy was punctual and got right to his work after I explained what I needed to have done. He installed the motion sensores first, but had some problems and found out they were either bad or the wrong type. He went to a local home store to get two more (he didn't charge me his time for this). Then it was onto replacing the circuit breaker (the wiring was different than the breaker installed). Randy then looked at the pond's GFI outlet. The problem was the outlet was not receiving power. He was able to swipe hot wires (I think this is what he did) and got it to work. He then replaced the GFI outlet as the old one was a little tarnished. I bought a timer for the pond pump. The previous owner had placed the time at the bottom of the deck. I wanted it moved to the top of the deck. Randy suggested I could have it placed inside the house next to the electrical box. I thought that was a brilliant idea so that is what he did. Overall it was a great experience.

They were punctual and did good quality work. The work was quick, and they cleaned up after themselves. They were fairly priced, and I got what I paid for. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

The contractor arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem very efficiently.

The workman arrived right on time and started to work once he made sure what I wanted and where. I had purchased the light fixture. He asked if I would prefer a switch in the kitchen instead of the basement for the light. As we talked I decided it would be better in the kitchen. I also inquired about also additing an outlet, because my older house does not have very many kitchen outlets. He proceded to work in the kitchen. However, he ran into trouble because he couldn't fish the wire from the outside light down to the outlet. He cut a second hole on the other side of the stud. He finally got the wire and was able to wire both boxes with the switch and outlet. We originally talked about putting the outlet and the switch in the same box. But having them separate was fine with me. He was pleasant to work with and always asked me what I wanted before he did anything. I have used Electric Connectio many times and have recommended them to others. Their prices are a bit higher than other companies, but I always know I will get quality work.

They were very, very good and they did a lot for me. They were excellent. They like to work up north because I contacted them for a quote when I moved and they came out but they never followed up with an estimate like they promised; that kind of disappointed me. They are more expensive but they are worth it because they work quickly. They do the job when they say they are going to do it and they do it very efficiently. I wasn't scared to death after they did the work.

Electric Connection did the electric in our house and I have used them ever since. They did not charge me for this service call and was able to get the light working. They get to you pretty quickly with service calls, especially if it is an emergency. In that case they will see you first. I don't have a lot to compare them to but they are knowledgeable, clean with booties on their feet and clean up after themselves. All electricians are expensive but their prices are fair for the area.

Very well. In the middle of a range install we discovered we needed a replacement line installed (110 volt to replace a 220 volt line). I called The Electric Connection to see if they could help us. They were able to come the next morning, which helped us out of a jam. The range installer was scheduled to come the next day and not having the line installed could have delayed the project. They showed up on time and did the work promptly. The installer pointed out that if he installed the outlet in the area where the range was to be installed, there might not be room to plug the range into the outlet due to the tight fit. We discussed the problem and he offered his advice and subsequently installed the outlet in the basement instead of in the kitchen. The range installer was able to drill a hole into the basement and plug into the outlet. Turns out there would not have been room for the outlet in the space where the range was installed. If the installer had only followed my directions, I would have had to incur another service call, or my installer would have had to improvise. They saved my neck!

Things started out well. The actual work was started soon after we requested it. The panel and service were moved within a day. After the first day, though, things started going South. It took several more days spread out over a couple weeks to have the knob and tube wiring replaced. Generally the holes punched in the walls and ceilings were easy to repair, and the electrician cleaned up pretty well, In the basement, however, where joists were drilled to run new wires, wood shavings were left where they fell on the floor, boxes, shelves, and appliances. Also, the coordination with AEP wasn't good so we were without an electric meter for about a month. We eventually had to call AEP to have a meter installed (even though Electric Connection said they'd coordinate with all utilities), and AEP was not happy that Electric Connection had taken a meter without replacing it. During part of this time we had electric service lines just lying on the ground in our backyard, but we were assured they were insulated and safe. The final inspection didn't pass because the electrician hadn't labelled the new breaker panel. When the panel finally got labelled, Electric Connection failed to schedule a new inspection. Just under a year after the work was done we received several messages from (Chad?) at Electric Connection saying that our permit for work done on a subpanel in a garage for a swimming pool was about to expire and could they schedule an inspection. We returned the call to tell him that we didn't have that work done but to schedule the inspection. A few weeks later we got a letter from the city saying we were in violation of code for not having our electric work inspected. When we called Electric Connection (in March of 2010) they said they'd pulled a renewal permit, which would be good for another year, giving us time to get the inspection done without a fine. We told them to schedule the inspection but nothing happened. We called every month or so from March until September leaving messages to schedule our inspection with the city. Eventually I spoke to somebody other than the person we'd been talking to for months, explaining that nothing had happened for months. Finally at the end of September a replacement permit was pulled (even though we were told it had been done 6 months earlier), but again no inspection was ever scheduled. After a few more unproductive calls to Electric Connection we scheduled our own inspection. It passed, thankfully. I'm not sure what we would have done if it hadn't given the lack of response we'd gotten from Electric Connection. Our initial impressions of the work we had done were okay, but the utter lack of professionalism in dealing with permits make us question the quality of the actual work that was done.

The work done by them was really good. I had my ceiling connection going in the wrong direction. It was a really complicated and lengthy job, but they really handled it well. They were really innovative in figuring out and did a lot of thinking before they did a lot of work. So that was good. I thought that the price was pretty good. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

The story is a bit long to explain, so here is the bottom line. I thought the price was a bit high for what they did. The guy did a good job.

The power went off to our TV and lights in our family room. Thinking that the circuit breaker was tripped, went to the basement and checked the breaker box. Nothing was tripped. All looked normal. Called Electric Connection in the morning and Asad came in the afternoon of the same day. He checked all of the outlets in the family room and found that there was a loose neutral wire in one of the outlets. He replaced the wire and the work was done in 1/2 hour. Asad was very courteous and polite. Would not hesitate to call this company again.

They were very reliable, very nice. I think their prices were pretty competitive. They weren't too much.

Everything was wonderful. They had the best price out of three different companies. They were timely and professional, and got the job done in the time frame they said they would. I was very happy with them, and would absolutely use them again.

I called The Electric Connection this morning, and Rex scheduled the job for this afternoon. What a nice guy---very friendly! Rex called me back early this afternoon and told me that Todd would be arriving shortly. Todd was prompt, very polite, efficient and very knowledgeable about installing my new ceiling fan/light fixture. He went above and beyond the call of duty to finish the job. He cleaned up after himself. Perfect job...great, friendly guy! (The final cost included my Angie's List discount.)

Wonderful! My husband was impressed with Wayne's professionalism and honesty during the estimate, work was completed in a very timely manner and clean up was thorough. One of the jobs we'd requested (moving a timer for external lights from under the deck to our basement) ended up being more complicated than had been expected. Rather than perform the work anyway and surprise us with the bill, Wayne gave us the option to have a separate estimate done. We opted for that, which is why our actual bill was a bit less than the estimate.

They were efficient and professional. The electrician who hooked-up our new patio light fixtures even took extra time to help us reconnect lighting in our steps that our contractor had not connected properly.

I called and explained what I needed. They had an open appointment within three days. The serviceman came on time and we walked around to decide what the best approach would be without undue tearout, etc. He offered several different scenarios and listened to my suggestions and/or ideas. This technician had been here several times before as this is the company I always use for electrical work. He was polite and professional and finished in a reasonable length of time.

Asad and Travis were excellent with all the tasks involved. They worked together to add cable to the bedrooms and asked where I wanted the cable outlets placed first before cutting the drywall. The remaining tasks they split up between them. The outlet and light switch were repaired quickly and they were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The range outlet took a little longer but it was a larger job than the others as the new outlet had to recessed and a new outlet box had to be placed in the wall. They were very careful when sliding the range in and out to protect my kitchen floor. They cleaned up any drywall dust with the shopvac they brought with them. My copy of the bill hadn't come through and Travis copied everything onto my copy so I could read it clearly.

2 employees, Asad and Todd, came on the day scheduled, at the time scheduled, worked continuously for 4 hours and did a quality job. They cleaned any debris left, removed and took away old fixtures, climbed into a very low, tight attic in order to reach a front overhang on the house and did an excellent job.
